  1. We don't really know the details. I am not an expert, but I believe there are some heart procedures (like a stent) that could be one-time and just a short recovery time without ongoing treatment.
  2. Given that they can find that information on my account, I'd think that they would be able to get the information and confirm that my wife was also on the reservation. It would be a different story if it weren't on either account.
  3. I booked my next two cruises without all-included and do not plan to buy the drink package (I would never pay for it separately). Most of our drink activity on the ship is at Cafe al Bacio. Maybe one alcoholic beverage per day for each of us. But yeah, basically that and the extra bag of laundry per person (which could also come in handy since we have three weeks of cruises booked B2B).
  4. Well, in theory if you purchase the policy within a couple of weeks of booking, pre-existing conditions would be included. But certainly something to talk to a travel insurance expert about, since this is not the original booking.
  5. Well, if they were able to move the cruise out, presumably they could buy insurance now for the new date. Wouldn't cover cancelation, but hopefully it would cover any medical emergencies. Also, we don't know what the procedure is. It could be relatively minor with little chance of serious side effects after a week or two passes.
  6. Interesting that some of the higher-end lines allow it. One of them (Seabourn) even allows it in staterooms. Also surprised that Virgin does not since I would have guessed that was who Celebrity was trying to emulate.
  7. Just stay with the Classic and pay the overage on a per-drink basis. It works for the vast majority of passengers, unless you are planning to live at the Martini Bar. Also, even if you had to pay the full price of the Cosmo (and you don't, but if it were more than the limit), it still wouldn't be worth upgrading if you were only getting one per night.
  8. I finally just hit Elite Plus, but noticed that my wife is over 200 points behind me and stuck at Elite. I downloaded the cruise history dating back to 2014 from the Celebrity website and see that she has one cruise missing, presumably the TA neglected to put her CC number in the reservation. But it seems like there are also some points missing from cruises that aren't showing on the site (presumably prior to the point change, but I do have a list of courses, although I'd need to get th exact dates). What is the easiest way to get Celebrity to fix this? We've been on the same cruises and did the same Power Up activities, so they should be identical (she's missing 6 points there, not a big deal since it won't affect her being E+ and we're not getting to Zenith in our lifetime). If I call, will they be able to fix it without the lengthy check of each sailing, and if so, am I better off just emailing their customer service address and get someone to fix it without my being on the phone? Obviously, we should have noticed this sooner, but we didn't, so that is not a useful answer. I will suggest that others out there compare your point totals with your spouse's to make sure that you also don't run into this. The other option is to do nothing, but would my wife get Elite Plus benefits such as Cafe al Bacio as a result of being on the same booking as me? And she really does want her account updated.
  9. Not saying that it doesn't work. I'm just saying that your accumulated rebate goes down by the amount "earned".
  10. I prefer not to travel with that much cash, especially if I'm flying home. And then I'd have to go to the bank to deposit it.
  11. So they don't take away any rebate you've gotten when you return a purchase? Seems open to abuse (which is my nice way of saying that's not how it works).
  12. That's also a good option for some. I just find getting it back on my debit card easier than having to deposit the cash once I get home, since I try to charge everything at home and would have to visit a bank branch, which I rarely do.
  13. Wanted to add that if it's refundable, make sure to change your registered card to something that doesn't give you a large rebate percent on travel purchases, because it will show up as a refund and you will be penalized that amount. When I am expecting an OBC refund, I change my registered card to a debit card, so it costs me nothing for the return.
  14. When is your cruise? It's already been shown early on that it's not based on where you live, but when your cruise is. The sale is only for cruises through May 2024.
  15. Not going to disagree about food quality being down, but you lost me when you put pandemic in quotes.
  16. From checking on my TA's site, the $50 bonus OBC seems to be back today, so for anyone who repriced their cruise (not drink packages or excursions) Wednesday, be sure to call and get the extra $50. I figured it would be back for the holiday weekend, but wasn't sure when it would start. But Celebrity was claiming it was the last hours for the current promotion, so I'm not that surprised.
  17. Well, that's no different from how it was when pretty much everything was Always Included, right? But you bring up an interesting point (which I guess is off-topic here), which is that it makes AQ pricing look artificially high I checked a cruise I have booked for next year. I have it booked with nothing included, but if I were to do All Included, the verandah price would be very similar to an Aqua cabin. Tempting to do, so I can eat in Blu again. Update, I was wrong, no rear-facing available.
  18. Be sure to book the underpriced ones. Of course, knowing Celebrity, they'll probably come back and tell you that it was a mistake and cancel it.
  19. Maybe one of those gold-plated sundaes or burgers you read about from time to time.
  20. It should go back to the original method of payment. If you paid with OBC, it goes back into the bucket that you have to spend. If you used a credit card, the refund goes back to the same card. The new purchase gets charged whatever card you tell it to use.
  21. I think you misunderstood them. They looked for a sale last week because it was Victoria Day. And which Canadian holiday cruises are considered holiday sailings???
  22. I think it's based on your cruise, not where you live. When is your sailing? I don't have it for my September 2024 sailings and i'm in the US.
  23. Probably because the Internet hasn't been upgraded and is terrible! We were just on in February.
  24. Do the other packages have higher discounts, or do you just not have the sale prices for your cruise?
  25. Did you check the current price without AI to see if it's worth switching? Or is it too late? I did not book AI for these cruises. Wasn't worth $80pp/pd. We can share one Internet package, and we don't drink enough to make it worthwhile (and will drink even less than we usually do without a package). Also, we'll be Elite+ as of these cruises, and I learned on our last sailing that we will be able to get free drinks at Cafe al Bacio with that, and that's all we really cared about.
