  1. Given the fact that it's a port intensive cruise I'd go for regular balcony. If it were 5 days floating in the Caribbean it'd be a different story. 😉
  2. I interpreted the question as to whether or not the presence of a connecting door between cabins had any impact on the size of the balcony - to which it does not. I do agree that location on ship does! Thank you!
  3. If you chose the cabin you can move it. The balcony is the same size
  4. @styles27 don't worry about @mvh. He/She posts rather mean spirited and prejudiced comments often, and for seemingly little reason other than to make him/her feel better about life. Calling people gluttons and here, accusing someone of not liking Europeans. I, too, sailed the Mera in December of 2022 on a 4 nighter. I was in YC but did venture out and about a few times and found the same sort of ill-mannered, drunken, entitled fools. I'm talking mid-day sloppy drunk, half dressed, yelling at bartenders for some frozen fruity tooty cocktail and waving their room cards like they were hundred dollar bills. The crew was doing all they could but it was a mess. I, too, blame it on ridiculously low intro rates including alcohol with no daily limit. As you said, this group made the party crowd on Carnival look like rookies 🙂
  5. @JAGR Stop, now, please... my stomach is literally cramping from laughing so hard 😉
  6. ??? Never heard of this. I always thought that confiscated liquor was held until the last night and returned like duty free (*caveat, unless the guest bringing onboard was also under age, which happens with spring break cruises....)
  7. If you could switch to two roller bags that would be a solve. There's not a limit to what you can carry on, you only must be able to manage it yourself AND the bags have to fit through the scanner.
  8. With Fantastica you are given preferential dining times based on your choice. I agree with seeking out the dining room staff during their assigned time on boarding day to inquire about changing if needed. Depends on occupancy of ship.
  9. Rather limited hours. Lunch opens at 11:30 or 12:00 (can't quite remember) and is open for a few hours. Drink service/bar service is available all day.
  10. Of course! But we always fly with carry-on only. Where there's a will, there's a way 🙂
  11. Ok so according to the revised terms we could bring in 4 bottles at embarkation. Good enough. Thanks !
  12. Good day (and I did do a search but couldn't find the answer). Thinking about booking a last minute May '23 Alaska cruise departing Vancouver. Generally we buy the beverage package but since the taxes are so doggedly high on this cruise I'm wondering 1) can we bring on wine at port of embarkation? 2) what if we brought on a bottle or two from ports of call (knowing that they are likely expensive, but less so than onboard.) Is there a corkage fee? The last time we were on Celebrity was in Northern Europe where it was not a problem to do so at all and we didn't get the package because we had a port of call almost every day and didn't think it'd be worth it.
  13. No need for umbrella as they are readily available on the island.
  14. Did YOU choose this cabin, or did you book Bella get assigned it? In the first case you can see on the deckplans that it's an adjoining cabin, and the balcony is angled. So two strikes. If you booked Bella and were assigned it, then you get what you paid for and shouldn't hold the cruise line at fault. Give 'em another try.
  15. It's the BROWSE package. On some ships, or when in the US market, the wifi is very good, strong & steady. In Europe it can be spotty.
  16. No flight reimbursements.
  17. This!!!! SOOOO true 😉
  18. No, it's open to any Aurea guests, regardless of age.
  19. Some thoughts: 1) a "regular" sized cornhole would likely not fit through the Xray scanner so carrying on would be a "no" and 2) I'm not really sure where you think you'd be allowed to set it up to play as you'd be taking up space and blocking something (or moving furniture) and 3) um, it's April 2nd so this can't be an April Fool's Joke and 4) might I suggest moving over to Carnival? (Kidding, not kidding.)
  20. Since you are already in Aurea you have access to the Aurea SunDeck which is never crowded. I'd stick with what you have (even though I love YC, it is a lot of $ that could put put toward another cruise.)
  21. You CANNOT switch built in bunkbeds for a sofa. You CAN switch cabins. 🤣
  22. I think that you are overthinking the situation. Your cabin attendant might also think something wonky is going on if you try to affix something to the connecting door... If you are truly worried, you can always downgrade to your original paid-for category of cabin 😉
