  1. NO, most of these are all still in place. Butlers will no longer put away and hang your clothing when you first board - yes, they can do it but many people (ME INCLUDED) find it odd to ask someone else to put away our clothes Butlers no longer provide additional nuts and snacks in the minibar (other than what might first be there when you board) - correct, one and one on the packaged snacks Butlers no longer provide additional small liquor bottles, but instead provide you with one large bottle of your choice.... ? correct Butlers can no longer take you to the front row at the evening show - the YC seating is generally in the rear and there is no first row reserved seating; they can certainly walk you down to the first row but there will likely already be people there sitting and the YC butler cannot remove them Gelato is no longer a "free" benefit - correct You cannot get coffee drinks at Jean Philippe... ? you can get them, you just have to pay for them
  2. Ah, the famous MSC Rep... was wrong, unfortunately. Fantastica has fixed dining. As far as breakfast room service - cold, continental items only. Hot food (limited choices) will have a surcharge.
  3. #1) ANYTHING can happen with your current booking #2) ZERO chance of you getting it once onboard To me, not worth potentially messing things up.
  4. Thanks for your first post and welcome to MSC.
  5. Have asked on both Mera and Divina; did not receive on either.
  6. I'm sure someone will... it literally just got into port.
  7. Oh dear... if you open up the reservation you will open up a CAN OF WORMS....
  8. 10:30 - 11:00 is a good time to board if you are in YC.
  9. Getting a raised seal birth certificate from where you were born is generally fast and you can usually pay to expedite it. That's likely your best bet at this time. Agree with @mscdivina2016 that showing up with a photocopy might be huge risk and you might be turned away. Do not, however, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BELIEVE anything a phone MSC rep tells you. If they say "no problem" and you show up at the port and are told no you will be 100% out of luck.
  10. We've had our specialty meal on cruises of 3, 4, and 7 days. However, thing's might be a'changin...
  11. Huh, what? If you can't taste or tell the difference between the La Terre "house" wine and a glass of something better than you do you, boo. But I know I can. Every. Single. Day.
  12. Choo choo! Welcome aboard the hot mess express! So the bid process has nothing to do with your GTY cabin assignment and if you had a cabin and they sent you an email it would not put you back into G00000. Best bet is to log into your reservation to see if its assigned there. Bon chance!
  13. Given the fact that it's a port intensive cruise I'd go for regular balcony. If it were 5 days floating in the Caribbean it'd be a different story. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  14. I interpreted the question as to whether or not the presence of a connecting door between cabins had any impact on the size of the balcony - to which it does not. I do agree that location on ship does! Thank you!
  15. If you chose the cabin you can move it. The balcony is the same size
  16. @styles27 don't worry about @mvh. He/She posts rather mean spirited and prejudiced comments often, and for seemingly little reason other than to make him/her feel better about life. Calling people gluttons and here, accusing someone of not liking Europeans. I, too, sailed the Mera in December of 2022 on a 4 nighter. I was in YC but did venture out and about a few times and found the same sort of ill-mannered, drunken, entitled fools. I'm talking mid-day sloppy drunk, half dressed, yelling at bartenders for some frozen fruity tooty cocktail and waving their room cards like they were hundred dollar bills. The crew was doing all they could but it was a mess. I, too, blame it on ridiculously low intro rates including alcohol with no daily limit. As you said, this group made the party crowd on Carnival look like rookies ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. @JAGR Stop, now, please... my stomach is literally cramping from laughing so hard ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. ??? Never heard of this. I always thought that confiscated liquor was held until the last night and returned like duty free (*caveat, unless the guest bringing onboard was also under age, which happens with spring break cruises....)
  19. If you could switch to two roller bags that would be a solve. There's not a limit to what you can carry on, you only must be able to manage it yourself AND the bags have to fit through the scanner.
  20. With Fantastica you are given preferential dining times based on your choice. I agree with seeking out the dining room staff during their assigned time on boarding day to inquire about changing if needed. Depends on occupancy of ship.
  21. Rather limited hours. Lunch opens at 11:30 or 12:00 (can't quite remember) and is open for a few hours. Drink service/bar service is available all day.
  22. Of course! But we always fly with carry-on only. Where there's a will, there's a way ๐Ÿ™‚
