  1. Correct; they offer upgrades even when there are technically no cabins available in order to see what people might be WILLING to pay. On our upcoming sailing the upgrade offer is equivalent to what we could pay to book it outright.
  2. Tissues, yes. Robes, no. There's no way a ship would have enough robes to supply everyone. They are allocated for yacht club, aurea, and Diamond Voyagers.
  3. This sums up MSC yacht club perfectly. While the overall product is a great bargain, the experience differs significantly from sailing to sailing and ship to ship. On a 7 night with a great YC director? Wahoo! Go for it. A 3 night with a lousy one, sorry, nothing for you. On my last 4 night YC I asked for the Kettle One as my bottle of spirit; was told that for 3 & 4 nights you could only get Absolut. The Ketel was now for 7 nights. Pizza on the One Pool deck? Yes, it can be done. In TopSail, no... unless, of course, the crew thinks you are a vlogger... in which case all bets are off.... On some ships you can wear shorts and flops to dinner in Le Muse. On other sailings you are stopped at the door.
  4. Yes, you would get the OBC if you booked far enough in advance.
  5. In my word - absofrigginlutely 😉 When leaving the YC area I noted that the ship was overrun with guests looking to maximize the value of their incredibly cheap drink packages. They were ordering drinks by the fistful and completely overrunning the bars. As a result the bars were running out of product left and right and the guests were getting more unruly. It was definitely more of a "Carnival 3 night" party crowd even though it was a 4 night Sunday departure which (in my experience) is usually quieter.
  6. Was on the Mera in the YC in December. Lots of "no" responses given and similar terrible neighbors (who smoked weed incessantly on their balcony). So while you might hope that Suite or YC pax are more considerate, don't count on it. 🤷‍♀️
  7. Better to try to arrange beforehand. Why wait until you are onboard to see if you can stay in the same room? Easy enough to sort out now
  8. Not at embarkation; you would have to check in to your assigned cabin and wait until after sail away. The port agents cannot offer changes or upsells.
  9. We did the same thing for a Hendricks' and Fever Tree cocktail .. had to bring from mini bar. Completely baffling 🙂

    Champagne

To note, that welcome bottle of prosecco has been removed from updated Voyager's Club "official" perks. Your mileage might vary
  11. Just a warning... on my most recent cruise (YC, on Mera) I was HELD UP from getting off the ship because I had a TWO DOLLAR and change CREDIT balance on my account. Yup. The security guards wanted me to leave the line, go to guest services (AS IF!) and fill out a form agreeing to forfeit the excess OBC. It was LUNACY. So I suggest that you get a final statement just to make sure that you neither owe, or are "owed" any money.
  12. The struggle is real..... You choose the Royal Suite, you get the perks. Don't really think it's transferable (in which case sign me up!) In my mind it's like saying that if I don't want to use my thermal spa perks I can pass them on to someone who doesn't have them.🤷‍♀️
  13. If you made the mistake and over paid, technically MSC didn't steal your money. They just accepted the extra... 🙂 Anyhooo, I agree with other posters who say that once you get off the ship you have very little recourse. I would have pushed the issue during the cruise. I am wondering, however, if any of the issue has to do with you booking through the German site. Are you in Germany?
  14. Best best is to go on You Tube and spend some time looking at the YC on Meraviglia. Will answer a lot of questions. I will say the YC interiors are SMALL, as in REALLY small.
  15. There is only one "excursion" at Port Canaveral to the Kennedy Space Center, so you are correct. I can't speak to the immigration questions, though
  16. I haven't seen any beverage packages available on TAs. Can anyone please confirm?
  17. Oh, hopping on here as we are on the Grandiosa out of BCN in February. PS @ConnieTact your cat is JUST gorgeous!!!!
  18. For $60 pp/rt on a party of 2 you can pre-arrange a separate Lyft/Uber.
  19. Totally agree! The smoked cocktails and other specialty drinks are $1 USD more than the limit and thus, "off limits." The biggest tick me off in the US market is the pinot noir which is priced at $15.50, or $.50 over the limit and a "hard no" at the bars... arghhh....
  20. They have that... at the Ocean House 🙂 (for the Yacht Club). But seriously, managing a restaurant out there is incredibly difficult as all foods needed to be carted off in the morning and hauled back again at end of day.
  21. If you really want steak & eggs for breakfast (in the YC dinign room, not room service) I would recommend you make arrangements the night before. It's much better to give them a head's up the night before.
