  1. Yes, both times was on a cruise 2003 and 2012
  2. We have never flown out of BCN. How long is the ride from the pier to the airport. is a 1:15 flight doable?

  4. Is there a limit to the number of minutes you receive with the Plus package?
  5. It shouldn’t matter who you book through, but the offer says on SELECT cruises only, so you need to look at that list of cruises and see if yours is listed. If so, yu can look at the booking codes inthe upper right hand side of your confirmation. Ain’t should show the offer code. You can see all the codes in a stick on this board.
  6. We loved our cruise to Iceland. Beautiful rugged country filled with waterfalls and geothermal sites. The Prima is a beautiful ship and was christened in Reykjavik 2 years ago. It is a warm weather ship which for some inexplicable reason they use for cold weather cruises so if it’s inclement it can get crowded feeling inside. Great eating venues, some very different. NCLs youth program cuts off at 18. We did the British Isles in June and our 18 yr old GD had no group (which suited her just find) but gregarious 15 yr old GS loved the group his age. The became an inseparable pack. You may find the free at sea package to your liking. Similar to Princess Plus but no gratuities, and with a few other differences. I think the two experiences, shipwise, will be very similar, as for ports only you can decide. But if you’re u embark/disembark in Reykjavik, do a few days pre or post cruise to do private tours. We used Nice Travels and highly recommend them. You also get a discount if you book multiple days. Best wishes.
  7. I could be wrong, but I believe in February the drink package didn’t kick in until the next day. You are allowed to bring two bottles of wine per cabin so if you are wine drinkers, you can have that on embarkation day. Of course if you’re u are not driving in it could be more difficult to acquire, etc.
  8. Yea, I remember the FAS meals were4, and with platinum we had six nights, so on a seven night cruise we were well stuffed.
  9. We became platinum in March of 2013. But there was no FAS at that time. I don’t recall when it began, but I’m sure BirdTravels will fill in the blank. But when specialty dining became popular yu had to call and pay at the time of making reservations. When we became Platinum it was still the rule, including Platinum dinners, although they claimed they would refund your money onboard. I never chose to do this as NCLs track record with refunds is less than stellar. So on embarkation day, we arrived early and went staring to the restaurant reservation desk to do our reservations. It was a stressful way to start your cruise, but that’s the way it was. Fast forward a few years when some of the restaurants became a La carte it presented an opportunity because you couldn’t be charged for meals without a set fee/cover charge, so we could reserve a La carte restaurants that we would pay for with a voucher once onboard. Such a relief. Who knows how they will do it now, but hopefully it will be somethng that is not too onerous. 🤣
  10. As soon as you board go directly to the CruiseNext desk to sign up for the tour, also available is dinner with the officers, wine tasting, mixology exerience. Please don’t sign up for things and no show. Happens a lot and others lose out and it’s insulting to the staff. First time we did mixology it was only us! Everyone else no showed. You will also be able to pick up your new pins at the desk. The tour on the Prima included everything cited above as well as the crew lounge. That was a first for us and I felt it was a bit invasive. There were LOTS of stairs and my hips were not happy with me as some of them were steep and as many as five flights at a time, so take that into consideration. And you must wear closed toe shoes, it is nonnegotiable and I’ve seen people turned away for even peekaboo toes. Usually there are two groups of 12 for the tours.
  11. Anybody who finds out, please post right away!
  12. What no security detail, no time in the brig, no banned for life? Sorry, couldn’t help it. But in the spirit of being a responsible adult, when you’re u get onboard go to the reservation desk and cancel so someone else is not denied a seat while they waited for you.
  13. Depending on what your closing date is, they may not hit before closing, if it’s really close, but you will have them on the next billing. I can’t think of a time when my charges and points didn’t hit the same billing cycle, but the points will offset the charges whenever you choose to use them. It’s not like some travel cards where you “erase” specific charges with points. If you are in a good cash flow point in your year you could hold off until a time when you need the points. Maybe the holidays or a time when your income is seasonally low.
  14. Certainly the best bet in your case and as others have mentioned, you will get triple points for future use, whether it’s a cruise or just statement credit.
  15. The reason for no launderettes I’ve always heard was the fire risk. I think if you look at ship fires in recent years you’ll see a large number originate in the laundry. Not necessarily the small launderettes, which are still available on Carnival and Princes ship. I seldom use my laundry benefit as they’ve faded and shrunk some of my clothes in the past, but I will use them if I have jeans or something heavy. I have a set of cruise clothes, collected over the years for being wrinkle resistant and quick drying and I wash those in the sink as needed.
  16. We had a delightful dinner on the Prima with one ambassador and the rest two diamond couples and the remainder were sapphires. The Captain so very personable and was off on vacation after the next cruise. After dinner he opasked if we would like a tour of the bridge the following day and of course everyone said yes. As we were chatting I joked that I hoped when I became Diamond they would let me blow the horn, but it didn’t happen. We all laughed. The next day during the tour he searched me out and said”let’s go blow the horn”. And we did! He had a great laugh at how such a simple thing could make me so happy, so after the first time, he did Do it again. So I did and he laughed and said, “ now my crew is wondering what on earth is going on. Great time.
  17. Okay, folks, this is. Tongue in cheek comment. There are many reasons not to combine alcohol (vasodilator) with heat from various spots in the spa which are vasodilators. In our many cruises I know of people who have brought sippy cups of wine, but none of them imbibed while in the thalosotherapy pools or the pool. But given the lax standards of some people it could happen. Certainly, the spa is a noisier place than it was intended and the “whisper zone” signs disappeared a long time ago. i have been known to bring my own sippy cup when lounging on the heated loungers or simply reading in the comfy lounge. Alcohol and heat don’t and as such I’ve never imbibed when doing serious vasodilatory locales, nor would I advise anyone else to do so.
  18. There is a very good travel insurance board where you could get some pretty solid advice. Usually Steve from Trip Insurance Store is around with expert knowledge.
  19. BallFour4, since yu like the RCL ships, try sailing te Regal Princess out of Galveston. We are Diamond on CCL and NCL, and after 92 cruises we’re getting a little jaded with all the cutbacks. Our neighbor sailed the Regal and came back with wonderful reviews, so we booked it last fall, and oh my, it made us fall in love with cruising again. Elegant dining, beautiful music during happy hour, elegant meals, with table others and nice flatware. give her a try, I think you’ll be pleased.
  20. N need to use a TA, but yes you can if you so choose. To make sure you book correctly, call WP first and tell them what category cabin your u ultimately want to be in. Say, yu want a BA, then see if you have enough points to do a double meta, or can your u only do a single. Either way, ask the WP agent what you need to book in order to get to your BA cabin. then make you ur reservation, TA, online or PCC. Then call WP back and do the upgrade. Be sure to have the deck plan in front of you so you can see what is surrounding your cabin.
