  1. My DH had a recent back injury and we rented a scooter for our cruise from: https://www.specialneedsatsea.com/ We found they had better pricing than others I shopped. They delivered the scooter to the cabin and we were able to get wheelchair assistance at the cruise terminal to get us onboard so he didn't have to do the long walk through terminal to the ship. I have heard they are able to arrange scooter pick up outside the cruise terminal but that seems to vary by cruise port. It is not easy to turn the scooter around inside a standard OV If possible book an accessible cabin it will be so much easier to maneuver the scooter than a standard OV. Plus easier to get in and out of the cabin door if by yourself.
  2. Same here. We have had some great days exploring the island. I think some people just get off the ship and walk around to shop or find a restaurant vs. leaving the port area and checking out what the island has to offer.
  3. As others have said prices vary with Uber and Lyft based on time of day, availability, demand, etc. That is odd that it would be $35 for a 5 min. ride, I would have thought it would be around $10 or $15 at most. Is there something going on in your area for St. Patty's Day today? That would bump up the prices. We usually compare the two when looking for a ride. We have found Lyft to be cheaper most times. i.e. Last Sunday when we needed a ride home from Cape Liberty cruise terminal Uber was $175 for the 1.5 hr ride and Lyft was $120 (both included tolls).
  4. My hubby had his done 2 weeks apart. Good excuse to do nothing for several days after each procedure. I would be nervous too. You'll be so happy you had them done after you are all healed๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. Based on what they told Eric when he had his cataract surgeries. No driving for at least first week. You get a break from moving and packing boxes for at least a week. You may want to do your errands, grocery shopping, etc. this weekend if you haven't already done. Best wishes!
  6. Scroll down a little further and you should see the OBC. Did they collect an additional $700 and the $200 from next cruise cert or an additional $900? Did you call direct when you booked and give them your next cruise booking number?
  7. Total needed to reach prime is 2500 points per club royale year of April 1st to March 31st. So if you have 1300 points now you will go to 0 points on April 1st. Resets every casino year.
  8. With 2 large ships docked lines for the Waterpark will be long, especially during spring break season. Beach club is definitely a winner with a great lunch. Floating mats are included and you can rent snorkel gear over near chill island where the snorkeling is the best on the island or bring your own.
  9. I sailed on Anthem last week with lots of families from Canada on their spring break. Beach club was rather empty. We paid $90 or $95 for Beach club. I guess most were at free beaches, water park or the adult Hideaway beach....which I heard a lot of people say it's way too loud there.
  10. Rarely see children at the beach club so they may be bored there. The area is very nice and relaxing with a great lunch.
  11. Love the beach club. I was there last week. Nice cushioned loungers, with their own plush towels provided, also floating beach mat, heated salt water infinity pool (at perfect temp, IMO), great lunch, bar service available at your lounge chair-just raise your flag on the chair Very nice clean restrooms too!
  12. Horrible accident. Sad to read about the little girl too๐Ÿ˜ช I agree he should serve his time, especially since he was given a plea deal of only 3 yrs vs 7 yrs.
  13. Just got off the phone with Royal. We booked my casino offer for a free 7 night sailing out of San Juan for next January. We upgraded my OV offer to a JS on deck 8 of Rhapsody. Love the itinerary. Next, need to figure out what we will book with Eric's offer. This thing called work gets in the way. Being a casino prime member definitely pays off.
  14. Yes, there are mini fridges but they are more like coolers. They get cold enough for wine, soda or chill water bottles. And room steward can fill daily ice bucket and bring glasses. I have never been charged a cooking fee.
