Yes, we too knew of it but from the beginning looking over the floor plan before boarding.

We remember the little elevator off the main hallway that took you there and also the winding staircase you could use use to the bar.

Yes!   I do remember seeing it on the floor plan, but we had problems actually finding it!   Until one of our waiters in the Princess Grille told us about the staircase.   Then, we left via the door in the hallway, but man it was hard to find!
    But a very cool spot.

  2. Sadly, our favorite memory on our TA crossings, is destined to remain a memory.   😥
It was going for pre-dinner cocktails in the Princess Grille bar on the venerable QE 2.  First time we sailed on her, we didn't find the tucked away little lounge until the next to last night.  On our next 2 crossings on her, we made a bee-line for the hidden little gem our first night and enjoyed it every night before our dinner in the Princess Grille.  It was such a wonderful space.

So you look forward to the day when we have herd immunity, but have no interest in being part of the solution to get to herd immunity?

I already had covid (as did my husband) , so we are already part the solution of herd immunity.  But thanks for asking & being concerned!   😉   😄

Yea, I know.  My feelings are we will be forced to get vaccinated to do just about anything, at least right now.  I am hoping for herd immunity or things to calm down and vaccinations will not be that important.  I also wish they would take into account the people who have had Covid and the immunity they should have, yet everyone is pressured to get the shot.   If there had been more testing and the shots actually made a difference in getting Covid I might feel differently.

Thankfully, the states with responsible leadership have either never closed, or already opened up, with masks no longer being forced on people.     I will not cave & get the jab just to cruise.  Nope, no way.  I will enjoy the many vacation opportunities here in the good US of A for the time being.  When, and if, a cruise line opens back up with no mask or vaxx mandate, then I'll be the first to book!
Hopefully , herd immunity will take over and the fear mongering will subside.

I don't think it's really a question of vaccinated vs unvaccinated.  The bottom line is whether you have a vaccine or not, it is relevant.  What is relevant is everyone that is concerned, some are vaccinated and others are not.  A vaccinated person is protected, so they should not care.  However, many vaccinated people are scared......so for those that are vaccinated, or not vaccinated, and still are scared, please stay home.  A cruise is no place for you.  I live in Florida.  I have been living my life and not wearing a mask the entire pandemic.  Except for a brief time that Florida was actually closed up, I have been going out, eating our, going to bars, haircuts, shopping, groceries and everything that is normal.  Most of that time, I was not vaccinated, and now I am, but nothing changed in my life.  I also travel....including one international trip already and several domestic trips. That included sitting on airplanes and eating out.  So no I don't care if a ship is vaccinated or not, because the vaccine protects me.....that is why I got it and I'm happy if a negative, scared individual stays home.  The rest of us will have a great time.

    Excellent post!!!!!

The only thing that I read came from a passenger that was a TA. She stated the two people both had 2 positive ANTIGEN tests but the 48 hour PCR test was negative. That is why Hawaii will not accept Antigen test, only PCR and IDNOW. If the antigen is the test that they will give onboard for end of cruise i will cancel in a heartbeat, they are way too unreliable.  Those two passengers went through all that anxiety for nothing.

Yeah, and nervous Nellie's here are getting all bent out of shape.  Do you remember , maybe a few months ago, when Elon Musk had 4 covid tests in one day?   As far as I remember, he got the same test by the same nurse and got back both 2 positive results AND 2 negative results!   😮

    This is her post:

We have been given update information that the 2 people tested positive on the antigen test tested negative on the follow up 2 day lab test was negative. The press is blowing it up as though we have Covid on the ship and all of us have been tested and are 100 % negative. A lot of people were texting me and this is what the Captain just claimed over the loud speaker. What else would you expect from the press!

Thank you.  I guess everyone just needs to keep in mind that there will be false tests, negative and positive, which has been proven before.

It's a requirement for the Summer cruises on Queen Elizabeth for the moment, not yet on any others.

But of course a lot can change between now and January.

Have you seen (or heard of) any new news regarding current vaxx requirement on Cunard?

Then it shouldn't be a big deal to cancel your cruise and go elsewhere....just do it, you'll be much happier.

And by the way, you aren't the only who's lost family to Covid.  And I'm still not scared, because I know what led to my brother's contracting it.

no.  Just read Celebrity’s website.  This is just a subset

If you test positive for COVID-19 during the cruise, Celebrity Cruises will cover the costs of COVID-19 related medical treatment onboard, any required land-based quarantine, and travel home for you and your Traveling Party”

Thank you.  I stand corrected.  That's good news for the poor passenger.

The best solution, stop testing.  It's entirely pointless now.  Everybody knows the risks.

Just found out we're getting the antigen test to board Adventure.

The reaction has been worse that the ccv.  The tyrants at the NIH/CDC should be in prison for what they've done.

Yes it was reported they both were vaccinated and a symptomatic.  That doesn't stop the conjectures on this thread though, with some people implying they might have had fake CDC vaccine cards :classic_rolleyes:

I can’t post a link to the original as it is behind a subscription paywall

This does not appear to be a peer reviewed scientific article.  It is an essay posted on a non-profit organizations website.  Who are the authors, there are no references for them?  Did a legitimate institution sponsor the study?  Was this published in a medical journal?  Lots of unanswered questions about this article.

I think you are going to see a lot of different "data" if the upcoming days and months, and can be interpreted according to what you believe in.  We need to keep in mind that testing, as well as the "vaxx" itself is not 100%.

Sory you appear to have it backwards.

In a recent (March 2021) published paper, comparing antigen tests from several makers, the authors found that among symptomatic patients a 17% false positive and 0.1% false negative variances.  Amongst asymptomatic patients, they found a 72% false positive rate, and a 0.2% false negative rate.

In this study, all antigen tests were confirmed with molecular testing.

Can you please provide a link to that paper?

All of the tests are unreliable. They test positive for the common cold, flu, and other sicknesses. Even the inventer of the PCR test said it was unreliable!

I will not get the vaccine when there several other known treatments. I am not an antivaxxer but I have common sense!

I will go back to cruising when everyone stops acting like clowns and gets back to normal!

Ditto for my family and I!   Great post!

This is one reason I don’t see why unvaccinated people want to jump on a cruise ship right away, unless you think the whole thing is a hoax. If there are cases, you might not get very sick, but if grandma is with you and unvaccinated it could kill her. This is also why the cruise lines don’t want unvaccinated people on their ships.

But it would be their own CHOICE, right?  Even Granny's choice. My 89-yr old MIL chooses not to get the jab, and it's her choice.
And these 2 passengers were not unvaccinated, am I correct?  Or have I read the news reports wrong?  So apparently, even vaxx passengers can test positive for covid.  As  has been reported for months now.
