  1. I’m not sure about that , I think if it’s got a overload protection you can.

Just take it and declare it,they might want to test it.

Worst thing is they will give it back at the end of the cruise. I always look at the table of things they take of people. It’s usually hair dryers ,irons and things that heat up.

I can’t understand why people take rice cookers and sandwich presses on a cruise.

    From the RCG SEC filing:

We own and operate three global cruise brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises (collectively, our "Global Brands"). We also own a 50% joint venture interest in TUI Cruises GmbH ("TUIC"), which operates the German brands TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises (collectively, our "Partner Brands").

I was starting to think I was just hallucinating, thanks @Biker19.

If I sell my car I'm related to the new owner?

You are putting this in totally wrong perspective and nowhere do they face fines etc.

It is about them thinking they will make more money by putting them on short routes - don't buy that eviromental ship

I didn’t say Hapag-Lloyd owned Royal Caribbean, I said they have something to do with one another.

Never heard of this! You have a source? Doubt it is applicable to US or Europe!

Hapag-LLoyd has 0 to do with Royal....I think you got some wromg facts - fake news?🤔

I was told by a boss of Royal Caribbean they have to reduce emissions .

Older ships will be moved to do short cruises but the emissions are based across the fleet. The emissions can be averaged and exchanged within the company.

Why do they suddenly care about emissions?

Because if they don’t they will get hundreds of million dollar and euro fines.

All shipping and airline have to reduce carbon emissions.

I think it’s 50% by 2035 and 100% by 2050 .Some countries are bringing in restrictions earlier.

Hapag-Lloyd ,which is something to do with Royal Caribbean is facing a 100 million euro fine for breaching carbon emissions for last year.

Actually I'm not that sure the short cruise strategy will pay off....I think the added WAY too much capacity in the short cruise market....we will see if they can fill it!

I think you will find one of the reasons is to reduce emissions.
Short hops and more port days are going to be around until they find another fuel that’s carbon neutral.

Thanks Chilliburn, that would be great if they do that before the cruise. For what I gather if you have an English passport you don't have to bother. I am not to good with computers, I do get by but when you are in your 80s the old brains are not so sharp, thank goodness I have you guys to help me out. CC and the family have been invaluable to me.😊

I would hate a world cruise or something, just imagine the red tape !

I was chatting with a few people that come on Celebrity Edge reposition. It’s a Royal Caribbean Group ship and they said if you didn’t have the correct paperwork the ship did it for you. They charged but it was reasonable.

Did look on the Indonesian Site mentioned 30 days validity but could not see when it applied.

    Thanks John.

Those government sites can be a bit hard to understand, they can be vague.

Theres a couple of articles getting around that a lot of Asian countries are going to drop entry requirements. Indonesia was one of them .

Thank you,I did find and read all of those post earlier and it was very helpful. The information I am actually looking for is how many weeks before travelling can I apply. I am not very good with computers and it sounds like it is a bit involved and would love to get that part of it out of the way as early as I can. Do they start the countdown for your 1 day  stay from the time of application or the date of arrival ?  Would have been good for me if the ship handled it like the earlier days.

    Cheers John.

It’s 7or8 months and there’s talk they are going to change it.

I would leave it for a while.

For those of you that can see the Australian port bookings is Voyager still showing there in Dec 2025? I am on the current last sailing on Voyager from Ravenna Oct 2025 and if she has to go around Africa she will not make it on time

I have a feeling they are going to replace her with either Radiance or Sereande

It’s looking like it leaves Rome on the 3rd of November and arrives in Brisbane on 13th December .

Thats a 6 week gap from what I can see. It was  just under 4 weeks before coming through the Suez.

The new cruise terminal in Tokyo could enter the fray for a ship in 2025.

    https://uniquevenues-en.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/venues/metropolitan/12004/

I envision officials in Tokyo saying Kon'nichiwa and giving a standing Ovation to Royal in the Northern hemisphere's summer of 2025.

I can’t understand why Royal hasn’t tried a seasonal ship in Japan ,Celebrity is a regular there.

Or at least a regular interport with Singapore.

  12. I’m not quite sure what you’re asking but just put your credit card down and choose to get your bank to convert it . Royal Caribbean give a woeful exchange rate, I have heard as low as 55 cents. Your bank will give you a good exchange rate.

Im pretty sure it’s processed in Sydney if you choose that option otherwise ,if you get them to exchange it I think it’s processed in New York by a third party bank .

If you have A travel card with U.S dollars you can go to Guest service the last night and just pay your bill .That’s what I do but with U.S. cash.

Any changes we should be aware of?

Not really, that I’m concerned about. Some other people where chatting about it on the blog that only Pinnacles get those little badges.(who cares)

A couple of things I noticed there’s some coffee discounts at the coffee shop and some extra discounts on glasses of wine or beer. 2 per cruise each ,instead of one .

    And something about bingo ?
