  1. On another topic. Thanks PoohB. We met on Dec. Explorer cruise. You gave me tips on Roy'sTours in St. John's and Paul in Halifax. We used them both on our Aug. 28th sailing on the Explorer and both tours were great especially Paul's. We loved our New England/ Canada cruise and thinking of repeating next year.

Hi there. So glad you liked the tours. I would have felt bad if they were a bust. This will be our 3rd NE/Can. Love the fall and cooler temps. HUGS

  2. Well, maybe they will offer it on your cruise, who knows? I think it was a tricky transition for them (for whatever reason) from the one-week Bermudas to the two week Canadas.

Oh, and one very important thing about the Frenchman's Bay cruise...it was a beautiful, take your jacket off day in Bar Harbor, but the cruise was FREEZING - especially when the boat was moving. I had on a shirt, long pants, hooded fleece, hooded jacket and I even had gloves that were (luckily) stuck in my pocket and I was comfortable but still cold. Many people who only had a thin jacket or fleece or (horrors) shorts either looked so uncomfortable or moved down below.

Would this tour company be called Baa Haaba WW; "Nature Cruise"? 2hours? I saw another company offering something similar but it was 1 1/2 miles from tender dock.

  3. I bought one ten years ago and wore it on a couple of cruises

The complete ignorance of people astounded me

DH has a CC ball cap. We have had many good conversations with people explaining about this wonderful website. But it does start off the same way, "Are you really a critic on this cruise?" or "So tell me. What is so bad about this cruise?". The cap is a great ice breaker.

  4. Also, a good video "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama". Notice the palindrome. We did San Diego to San Juan. It's surprising what directions we actual traveled through. Very interesting and enjoyable but after 2nd lock, DH didn't care if he did a 3rd. And our captain was really ticked off when the pilot and mules combined to have our ship bump the wall and cause damage; yes it was that tight; clearance was ~ 4 feet on either side.

  5. If anyone needs to buy clothes, etc. (I needed sneakers cuz mine unexpectedly lost part of the heel in St. Maarten); there is a Marshall's not too far from port. The free trolley can get you there (I believe it's stop #8) and the prices are good. Our concierge was in there and said all the crew go there to shop. And no foreign transaction fees on the credit card.

  6. We have been D+ for a little while but we now have learned what a concierge should be and we have been spoiled rotten. Denzil is fabulous. I even thanked him for teaching us what the concierge is supposed to do for us. When we first met, he told us that his job was to make and keep his passengers happy. He did that above & beyond. Anyone who meets and uses him should be happy. Thanks Denzil.

  7. Okay, yes it was our fault for not looking at the Cruise Compass that said where the lunches were being provided. We have been to Labadee many times and always go to Columbus Cove; lots of shade, sandy beach & water area, handy BBQ station, bathrooms, handy tram. and great view. We did the traditional tips for 2 chairs, got a Labadozee and got comfy. An hour later one of the staff walked around telling everyone that if they wanted lunch, they had to take the tram to the area near the 'Town Square'. We were extremely disappointed that we missed the info but didn't find out about the '2 places only for lunch' until we returned to the ship. As the tram drove past the open BBQ station the lines were extremely long and people looked very annoyed. We immediately returned to the ship and had a quiet lunch in the WJ. The weather was beautiful on Labadee and we would have stayed if we weren't hungry. So basically this is a warning. No matter what has happened before, there may be another unexpected change to cutback on costs. Somehow I think if it was a mega ship, there would have been 3 BBQ stations.

  8. On may 3rd my wife and I will be going on explorer for a 5 day cruise. We have a promenade room which we got for a great price and we will also be getting the drink package. My wife doesn't drink so she 'll get the replenish and I'm going to get the premium package.

These last few weeks are getting tough for me. Everyday I'm checking what's new on cruise critic and reading about other people's cruises but I want mine lol!! I can't concentrate at work either and I need my cruise fix ASAP! Hopefully this will help past the time away but probably not! Lol

  9. The last time we went to Labadee and were walking back to the ship, we passed a restricted beach area with a 'guard' at the gate. We had a conversation with the man and he said that we, as D+ could have used that area for the buffet; which I understand was the 'upgraded' buffet. Does anyone know if this is true or if it was all in my imagination? Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi we have recently booked with a Celebrity agent. Is there somewhere on the Booking Confirmation that tells the option that we picked. We originally picked the beverage pkg but don't drink enough to make it worthwhile. We changed to the prepaid gratuities. I don't see anything on the booking confirmation. Thanks in advance.

  11. Okay, I'm lazy and haven't sailed with Celebrity for a long time. We will be 'Elite' status and wanted to know if espresso is available at anytime? all day? Or is it only available at breakfast? Thanks, ahead of time.
