  1. A few years back we were on the Q. My DH fell in love with this dessert. He was looking forward to enjoying it once again on the Anthem. In May, he was informed that the dessert was no longer available. We just got off a 5 day last week and he mentioned to the waiter that he missed that particular dessert. On the last night the waiter surprised him with the Icon Candy Bar! He had gone to the chefs and one of them remembered making the dessert on the Q and made my DH a special <whole pie> Icon Candy Bar. What a wonderful surprise for my DH. Again, the staff of our cruises has gone above and beyond what was expected. KUDOS.

  2. As you walk onto HSB beach you will see rocks in front of you (slightly to the right). If you go to the front of the rocks (the side facing the water) you will find a cave entrance. (I'm not sure if the tide was 'in' or 'out'.) Bring your cellphone with a flashlight app. Once you've walked into the cave entrance, you can walk (be careful of the rocks) to your left and over some rocks into the deeper part of the cave. It was an unsuspected surprise/adventure. Our 3 grands (10, 7, 5) thought it was a wonderful exploration.

  3. We just walked to the taxi/bus area and asked the dispatcher. Our driver gave us a little tour on the way. On the way back from Coco, we discussed that the next day could he take 8 of us. It worked out nicely, he gave us another little side tour.

  4. 6 of us did Coco Reef this past week. It was beautiful. The private minibus took us there for $9pp. He said he'd pick us up when we wanted and was there on time. He even said 'no charge' for the 3 kids on the way back. We used him the next day also for HSB, $7pp, one kid free. If you have kids watch them carefully. There were waves and the tide was coming in. It was a lot of fun. The sand was great for castles (we brought buckets & shovels). Lunch from the patio had an awesome view and lots of shade. Then we used their pool. It was a great day.

  5. We just got off from a 5 day (family of 8); We went to bumper car-nage with about 45 minutes left for their timing. It was a short wait. A good hint; on disembarkation morning, if you are using the Windjammer, take your food out to the pool area for plenty of seating & shade. The staff was fabulous to our 3 grands 5, 7. 10. Ocean Adventure was wonderful. A truly memorable experience; we're booked again for next year.

  6. The magnets were pretty small, rectangular 1 1/2" long, 1/4" on the square ends. They are actually from an MRI machine LOL. The other set that we had in son's room were circular about 3". The secret was/is they are very strong and it takes 2 hands to remove; only one hand to slide. Our 'S' hooks were hanging on the bottom of a cord about 1-2" long the other end of the cord attached to each magnet. Will my fb page work?

  7. DH & I were rooming with a grand daughter (D1). I bought a fabric shower curtain ($8). Hubby enclosed each of 3 very strong magnets in heavy plastic (to prevent damage marks on ceiling). We then attached 'S' hooks and hung the curtain in 3 places (ends & middle) between our closet and the couch (turned bed). The curtain could be slid open or closed. It reached from the closet to the desk (wide enough) and almost reached the floor (long enough). Our girl loved her little 'room'. She could go to bed and we could read or watch TV without disturbing her. As the kids would say "SCORE!"

  8. I am also a fond believer in rolling my clothes but if it's something I want wrinkle-free, I will use plastic dry cleaner bags. i.e. putting my dress in a bag but without hangar, roll up making sure the plastic gets rolled with the layers. Don't roll too tightly. The plastic is very slippery and the clothes seem to slide around rather than crease. I usually have extra room in my suitcases so to keep everything from sliding around, I tightly fill all the empty spaces with the <blown up> packing pillow (like the ones we get with Amazon packages). Unpacking in the cabin, all the 'pillows' get popped and put in the garbage. I don't need them for the trip home at the end.

  9. Does the Anthem have a helipad area to go to for sailing under the V bridge? We know about the regular (pool, NorthStar) open deck areas. We have are 3 young grands on their first cruise and would like them to be in a great space to experience going under the bridge. Any suggestions would be helpful. Looking for the 'AWE' factor. TIA

  10. We sail Saturday on the Anthem. We are a family of 8 and I planned all activities & shows. I checked the Calendar of Events for our trip and WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION, several of the shows and Character Breakfast were changed. I am so glad I looked. The 'breakfast' went from Day 5 to Day 2. We would have missed this and the 3 kids (5,7,10) would have been very disappointed. With the craziness on Day 1, I would have never rechecked on-board.

Please check your activities a few days before sailing; things get changed.

  11. I may get no answers, I may get a lot. For the 'fashionistas' on CC; what is more logical for nail polish color? My 'formal' down-to-the-toes dress is very purple with some green & yellow. My swimsuits have pink. Should I get my pedicure to match the dress or swimsuits?

Purple or pink? I can not find a color that is a compromise. I like dark <see-able> color, not neutral.
