  1. We only have 5 booked.  Haven't sailed since we were on the Eclipse, pleading with Chile to let us dock Mar 15, 2020.  Ironically we will be on the first sailing of Eclipse Apr 23 as she sets sail again with  passengers.  Really looking forward to it.  Yes, we love cruising.

There is a FB group following the Eclipse sailing in Mar 2020 called Captain Leo's passengers, if anyone wants to look at it.  There is also a group on the Apr 23 sailing and several others.

    Bon Voyage everyone.

Could select seats on United with the booking number.  AA found the flights with the booking number, but says I need to book the trip and won't let me select seats. I'm making the final payment next week.  I hope I am able to select seats soon after.

We had to have the record locator number which we had to phone Celebrity for.  We were pumped that they recognised our status and allocated us seats in Premium economy.  I'm sure you will be able to select your seats after FP.

  3. Jim is correct.  There were 4 7 day coastal cruises, March to April and they were all cancelled, even the last one that sailed to Vancouver to position her for the Apr 23 cruise to Hawaii which we are booked on.

  4. Aft facing.  We were in 1140 on Summit and really enjoyed the large balcony.  we also liked going to Oceanview, getting our food and carrying it up the back stairs to enjoy on our balcony.  we have also been in 1138 and 1130.  1140 has the biggest balcony of the 5 with the next ones over (1138 and 1141) a bit smaller and 1130 and 1131 the smallest but they are all large compared to the regular balconies.

You don't say when you are sailing.  If the cruise is a ways out, you may have a chance at one of these cabins but they do go very quickly.  keep an eye on them if you don't get one at first, as people do cancel.

  5. Did you look at Flights by Celebrity?  I was very surprised to see a fare from HNL to YVR, one way in May for $174 US.  We couldn't get that as I booked in CAD.  The fare in CAD was $28 higher than the conversion rate, but we went for it anyway.  Still a fairly good deal.

I agree with Vagabond that fuel costs are going to drive airfares up.  We are paying $2.29/l for gas at the moment!

  6. My current cruise with Celebrity, sailing next month, is the same.  I have had to call them so many times, I'm ready to cancel the whole thing and lose the cost of the airfare.   Last three people were in Jamaica.  I ended up chatting with them about Montego Bay which we loved.  It makes them feel good to know you like their country.  I feel sorry for some of them because I don't think they are well trained and I'm sure people get angry with them at times.

Mollypuss, I hope when you step aboard your cruise,  your troubles will be behind you and that you have the great time you are expecting.  Please come back and let us know what you enjoyed.

  7. Another vote for USD here.  Many of the crew send money home, so if they got CAD, it would mean less for them. also, most of the ports are US ports so CAD wouldn't work there either.

Very nice of you to think of giving the crew some cash, but USD would be preferable, I think.

  8. For the first time, I decided to use Celebrity Air.  They had a great rate supposed to end last night.  Surprise, it is extended today.  So I booked.  I decided to book the cruise (it is after FP date) in CAD rather than USD.  Big mistake.  The airfare if booked in USD is $174.  If booked in CAD it is $247!  The current conversion rate is 1.26. $174 X 1.26 = $219.  I know that is only $28/pp more for exactly the same flight but it screams screw the Canadians, as usual.  They are used to paying more for everything.

And, in the fine print under the $174 airfare, it says the penalty for cancelling is $200/pp!!!  What?  How can you be penalized for more than you paid?  i wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it written.  Definitely done with Celebrity Air.

  9. Well, at the moment with the sinking dollar and the sky high price of gas (at least in BC $2.00.9/litre today and going up another 11 cents tomorrow) and high taxes we all look a little pinched.😉  But get beyond the pinched look and there are friendly and helpful people underneath who love to get to know people from other countries.

  10. Two years ago today, we embarked on Eclipse in Buenos Aires, looking forward to 37 wonderful days of cruising home to Vancouver.  Little did we know what problems we were to face on the cruise and in the next 2 years.

The pictures in our paper this AM are heartbreaking.  Couples tearfully saying goodbye at the train station. where she gets on the train and he goes back to Kyiv to fight for his country,  Yes, they need our prayers for courage to get through this awful injustice and greed.

We are booked for Norway in July and hope it goes ahead and that it is safe to go.  Previously, all we thought we had to worry about was Omicron.

Many members report that the email works better than the website form.  I have no idea why that is, but after not hearing anything for a week after I submitted to the website, I sent the form via email and about 36 hours later I had the credit applied.

You are right.  We have tried the website as I have it set up on my computer but we never receive the benefit.  It seems you have to send an email.

Personally I would always prefer a lower fare than OBC.  Our booked Azamara cruise comes with a total of $2,100 OBC that I am finding very hard to use up.  Already taking all ship excursions, and there's still some left over.  Hope the part from my TA is refundable!  Otherwise – try to sit at my table, we'll be drinking some really good wine...

Well, it would be great to meet you and dine together but I don't think we're on the same cruise!  Yes, our TA gives money up front off the price of the cruise and I agree, then you don't have to find  way to spend it on the cruise.  However, I'm noticing that Azamara's tours are very expensive but maybe it has something to do with Norway as well!!  Norway is a very expensive country to vacation in.
