  1. Oh that sounds really good. I’ll find the recipe. I recently was able to get a digital download of Trader Vic’s original 1970’s book of recipes. There are some amazing recipes in there. Over 400 pages. If anyone is interested I’ll put it up on Dropbox for download.
  2. Nice. Curious how much storage do you have on that drive? To house all my music I would need at least 3 Terabytes. I probably have 500 CD's and still over 200 albums. That doesn't count the number of songs and albums I have on iTunes. My Christmas music collection alone has over 35,000 songs.
  3. I do too. Years ago when I was making my Christmas Music Compilation CD's for friends and family I used to make over a hundred. This year I made 25 and probably only gave out 12. Most people said they don't have CD players anymore.
  4. Wow that’s cool. I too was a car audio junkie. I had a 4 door Nissan Maxima with all Alpine equipment including FM/AM tuner, CD, Tape and EQ with all Infinity speakers and 2 12” subs behind the fold down back seats. I had it all amplified separately with over 250 watts. Even though I had a security system my car had 5 attempted break ins. The 6th time they figured out how to bypass the alarm and stole everything. I never did a custom audio system ever again only stock.
  5. How cool and if my math is right you did it all for under $2,000? That's amazing. Question with the two 1 TB drives, could you boot up from either one. I would like to get a dual boot computer so I could put one set of programs on one and another set of programs on the other. That's my problem with my main hard drive. Some programs are big and can only be installed on your main hard drive. It would be nice to be able to have two.
  6. Got the 4K Apple TV box last year for Christmas. I haven't swapped it out with my old Apple TV since I don't have a 4K TV yet. I may need to bite the bullet and get one.
  7. I have several friends that say the same thing. I do have a love hate relationship with Apple. I do wish their computers were less expensive. My first Mac was a Mac Classic in the early 1980's. It had 4mb of Ram and 30mb hard drive. Next year I get the new Mac Studio with 64gb of ram, and a 2 TB hard drive. That is how far I've come
  8. This helped me since I had to work on Windows at work and a Mac at home. https://blog.breathingcolor.com/photoshop-keyboard-shortcuts/
  9. That's the one disadvantage to Mac's you can't build from scratch. I wish you could. You are right you can build a PC much easier and cheaper and have a really good workhorse.
  10. I love my MacBook Pro but then again I have been an Apple guy from the very beginning. As far as shortcuts I'm not sure to which ones you are referring to but if it's for video editing it's basically the same as a Windows based machine except instead of using the Control key you use command. If you have any other questions, please ask. I know there are a lot of Mac haters out there but I assure you, you will love the MacBook.
  11. Just watched the latest episode of Below Deck. These were the worst charter guests I’ve ever seen. Hilarious to watch these idiots smoke cigars backwards. I’ve never smoked a cigar in my life but know what end is what. What a S#%t show that was?
  12. @Jimbo Looks fantastic! I wish my living room was that large. Great entertaining space. Kitchen turned out beautifully.
  13. Great photo ! Congratulations on your milestone. I hope you are celebrating by taking a cruise. Yes we always buy the extended warranty. Especially for cars. We had an extended warranty on the old fridge but it ran out. Sales guy said that the cost of buying new filters will pay for the warranty since we buy the filters and send in the receipts and we are reimbursed. Im interested in it too. I’ll report back. I like the idea that it has two ice makers. We go through a lot of ice. Sales guy showed me the size of the ice balls. They are smaller than my ice balls. The new ones about golf ball size. I hope they they work well. If not I’ll continue to make mine but use the tray to store them. I will never buy a Samsung anything. I’ve had such bad luck with their products.
  14. Expensive day today. Our Refrigerator’s water dispenser quit working before Christmas and now the fan went out. The fridge is dying and it would cost a lot to even get it fixed. So we bought a new LG fridge with French Doors, two pull out freezer drawers and two ice makers one being a custom craft ice maker ended up spending even though there was a sale over $3400. Sales guy says you are lucky to get 5-7 years out of a fridge. Ours at least lasted 10 years but makes me mad that manufacturers deliberately make appliances to not last.
  15. You make some excellent points and don’t worry I did not take your post the wrong way. You are concerned and I appreciate that very much. Each year I make the comment to Linda that I’m getting too old for putting all the decorations up and taking them down. Yesterday afternoon after putting away the last of the decorations my other knee was killing me. I know I should cut back but it’s hard. I love our house when it’s all decorated. We have guests who come and think our holiday house should be in a magazine. I take pride in that. Some day I will slow down. The main thing I need to be careful with is getting up high on ladders. Don’t tell my wife but I have had a couple of close calls. Thanks for your suggestions and I will take them to heart.
  16. I love Pencil trees because they don’t take up space. I used to have one but wore it out. I love the idea of always having a tree up and changing out the theme for the holidays.
  17. Yes I should since one day he will inherit all of it. I don't know if he will want all of it. But there is some rare, old and expensive stuff in there.
  18. Christmas 2023 is finally put to bed. I’m getting too old for all of this stuff but I will persevere. The other stuff is packed in the basement.
  19. What we did is grab a porter and tell them you want to get a taxi. They will take you right there. Porters can really be a god send.
  20. So sorry to hear about Sarah. My thoughts and best wishes will be for her and a speedy recover free of pain. Graham you are in my thoughts.
