Are they now serving Pepsi for bottomless bubbles?

Carnival changed to Pepsi products before the pandemic started.

    Unfortunately.

Just another reason, and a big one, for me, to give preference to a cruise line that serves Coca Cola products.

Hoping someone can answer these questions.

This excursion lands a helicopter on the glacier and then leaves while you take your guided walk. Anyone ever concerned about being ‘left’ on the glacier and watching your ride take off and leave …. LOL … ?

There is a weigh-in once you arrive. Does the weight limit INCLUDE your coats, boots, etc.? My husband is close to the weight limit (and being mindful of all the food consumed and weight gain while on the cruise of course) and adding the extra weight of those items will surely raise concern. Do you get money refunded if you get there and do not pass?

Thanks for your help. I’m a tad bit leery of this excursion … not a big thrill seeker.

    Happy Sailing.

We did a dog sledding excursion on a glacier in Alaska. The helicopter did not wait for us and we did not have any concerns about being left on a glacier. Our excursion was reserved through the cruise line.

Weight limit for our excursion included any extra clothing being worn and no refunds would be provided for being involuntarily denied boarding due to the weight limits (or at least, per the fine print on Princess).

Been reading through all of these posts.  I have two questions since I am new to Carnival.  They really use cans instead of a fountain?  On Princess they don't allow cans for the soda package...only fountain.  So strange!

Also, my husband does not drink alcohol so he would purchase the soda package and I would purchase the one with alcohol.  Would they not allow us to only have one person in the cabin with the alcohol package???  If so, that is absurd!

Fountain is less expensive and offered at most bars on Princess. Although not entirely common, the bar staff on Princess will provide a can if the situation warrants one. The only time you won’t have success with getting a can is when at Princess Cays.

+1 for getting an entire can. It actually seems gross to get a half used can that's been sitting out lol. I would demand a refund if I were treated that way and never buy bubbles package again. They give out cans of beer also. Don't really see what the difference is. It's more sanitary to give out individual units. Even my kids have gotten full cans. I guess I can understand why some people bring their own cans now.

LOL  it's not likely a can that's been sitting for any length of time.  More than likely the can was just opened a few minutes prior to you getting your drink.

they aren't refilling cups from the cans and it's also not sitting somewhere where just anyone can walk by and touch it...  so I don't see what so gross about that.

Surprised they haven’t switched to fountain/soda gun yet…

  5. We have been through this after sailing 14 times on Carnival within a two and a half year period. It was fun at first but towards the end, there were a lot of service discrepancies and product inconsistencies combined with some cutbacks that bothered me at the time. We had a couple of unusual, isolated incidents towards the end of our time with Carnival and ultimately pushed us towards Princess and Royal Caribbean.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with Princess and Royal. We stopped sailing Carnival after our cruise on the Miracle in 2012 and it took almost 8 years for us to try again at the very end of 2019. I would consider sailing Carnival again but a specific criteria must be met for the purpose of said trip in order to move forward with a booking.

Many of the rural areas of the fly-over states have very limited options when it comes to "international dining".

Heck, I picked a somewhat isolated small town here in FL, 20 miles from a larger city, and that town had an Italian joint and China House as their non-American food types (and lots of folks would argue Italian is as American as anything).

    Yikes.

Where in FL are you? Just curious

Same price as I can get locally.  Zero value to me.  OK for those in rural parts of the country where Teppanyaki is not available.

I can geg most any type of food local.  That does not drive me to go or not go on a cruise.  JUst my 2 cents….

I never would have thought there isn’t a Teppanyaki styled restaurant in all areas. I guess I’m spoiled with my local dining options?

Yes, but when the first arguments on the cc boards started about the proposed virtual muster drill all the experienced mariners who post argued that the drill was really for the crew. It was the only time the crew actually had the experience of "herding" the passengers. How is the virtual drill for passengers going to give them this experience? And what effect will that have if there is a real emergency? I hope we never find out!

Training and drills don’t necessarily mean emergencies will go well or as planned. Remember the Concordia? Chaos, confusion, no communication… and let’s not forget the timeline for when the captain disembarked.

The article doesn't say their age at all, just under 16.  The vaccine is available in the US for 12+, but the article isn't specific enough about their age to know if they were eligible or not.  This cruise was 92% vaccinated 8% not.  This is a ship using Bahamian protocols, not the CDC's CSO.

I'd likely guess somewhere between 12 and 16

I’ve seen it the most on Carnival (definitely the biggest offender with the longest line on the last day). But the one that I remember the most was on Holland America. This guy ahead of me at guest relations made a huge stink, loud for everyone to hear, throwing his arms up in the air, about the “service charge” added to his account on a daily basis. He said that his travel agent NEVER told him that there would be such a charge and that he wanted it all refunded.

The guest relations handled it like a champ, and basically called his B S as passive aggressively as possible. She said something along the lines of “Don’t worry sir, we will remove those charges from your account. and by the way, thank you for being a loyal Holland America guest and for attaining 4 Star Mariner status”. She basically told him that she knew that he had to know about the service charge if he had that many nights sailing on them. 😂

    Big yikes.

Dude probably didn’t even realize the GSA calling him out for that either.
