  1. Oh yes that is a clue for sure. Looks like it may be your turn next Oops to late Geoff has given correct answer.
  2. Gee that would be good if they count the 6 weeks. 👍 Have you guessed where my photo was taken yet ? should be easy for keen cruisers.
  3. Oh the good old days, I was a young whipper snapper then, now I have just had an 80th birthday (where did all the time go ) thanks for the advice regarding adding Fairsky to the Captains circle I did not know that.👍
  4. This should be easy for you cruisers.
  5. Your life was more exciting than mine. I was a 10 pound Pom. I came to Australia in1969 on the Fairsky the start of my love of cruising.😁
  6. Now your talking, loved Johnny Rockets along with a great sing song from the staff.
  7. Ha ha, no, I did not want to cheat. Southend was my teenage hunting ground and I spent a lot of time on that pier and yes I did catch that train. 😊 In them days the pier was 1.5 miles long. Once I emigrated to Australia I learnt that a big fire burnt most of it down. I also did not not want to announce that the name was printed on the bottom of the photo until someone else spotted it. It is a great photo and brought back some very happy memories so I thank you for that. Cheers John.
  8. What were they thinking ( 2 smalls ) after a cruise with all that food, they should know by now.😂
  9. I will see if I can dig the pics up. Thanks for the tip, I take it there is a fair bit of walking to do then.
  10. Oh yes, I can see Barb in the photo, she is the one with QLD on her shirt. 🙂
  11. Thanks Geoff. Not like the media to miss out on that. I watched the tv hoping to catch up on the opening. Been waiting since covid messed every thing up to see the new Terminal. Still have not seen much of the inside yet but that will be a surprise for when I go on my cruise in January. Thanks for all your post on your cruise, gave me a bit of a cruising fix.👍
  12. Have I missed something ? $177 million for the new Brisbane cruise terminal. I expected some big kind of opening glitzy hoo ha when the Explorer arrived and all I saw was the prime minister pull back a couple of curtains on a plaque !!! Correct me if I am wrong or do I need to go to Spec Savers.🤓
  13. True story. When I dropped off my brother and sister in-law for their first cruise from Portside on the Sun Princess, my sister in-law was absolutely white faced & petrified. I told her there was nothing to be concerned about and that she would have a great time, she then turned around to me and said " would they have inspected underneath the ship for any holes." 😂😂😂 Needless to say they had a great time and booked up for their next cruise while onboard.
  14. When they swapped from Portside to FI a month before our cruise we had to carry out embarkation procedures from Fishermans Island. I did approach princess about a shuttle and they said you have to make your own way there and back.
  15. Wow how great to be that close to the Terminal for your cruises. I thought we were lucky to be only an hour away at the Gold coast but to be able to see the ships is magic. 👍
  16. Thanks Geoff, It would be asking a lot to compare it to Sydney Harbour. Thank you for taking the time to provide all your updates. Great they have free shuttles. Last time I cruised with Sea princess we were supposed to embark at Portside but they changed it to Fishermans Island and having no car parking there we parked at Portside and had to pay for five adults to use a shuttle to embark and disembark. Enjoy your day, the sun is shining so should warm up a bit later. Sharing your excitement with you and cant wait to get cruising ourselves. Cheers John.
  17. I am really interested to hear what you guys think about the new Brisbane terminal when you arrive tomorrow I must admit I am a bit concerned about first impressions of luggage point and the sewage works after leaving the beautiful Sydney harbour plus shuttle arrangements into Brisbane city.
  18. Essex Hullbridge boy here, my first cruise was on the river Crouch, but now 60 years in Australia.
  19. Thanks for that, interesting times. I guess these days everything is uncertain.
  20. Still a waiting game I think. Be nice if Carnival could release the new name..
  21. Thank's for the update. When carnival cancelled my cruise I took their offer with the $900 OBC and decided to book another cruise in FEB 2024 well in advance in the hope cruising would be well and truly back. I have 2 cruises booked before that starting in Jan 2023. Looking forward to seeing Carnivals new edition to the fleet.
  22. Yes what you said. I am keen to know since they cancelled my cruise on the Spirit.
