  1. Might this be Mauricio, who used to be on Divina? We sailed Divina last October and this past January and he was the manager of Le Muse then. He is also a sommelier and would offer some excellent surprise wines to accompany those great YC meals.
  2. Also heard an update on two folks we knew from Divina: Mauricio (YC Restaurant Manager) is on his holiday now; no word on his next ship yet. Onel (YC Restaurant Server) is on Euribia.
  3. On our recent Seaside cruise, the very first MSC person who greeted us in the YC check-in area knew us from one of our previous cruises. What a great way to start a cruise! A familiar and friendly face to welcome us on board set the tone for the next 12 days perfectly. If you would like to share who is on your cruise, it will help us all keep track of our favorites and know who to expect on upcoming cruises. I'll begin... We disembarked from our Seaside 11-night Caribbean cruise on 14 September. We had a fantastic time thanks to the great MSC YC staff, with special mention to: YC Director Maria Luca YC Concierge Raj YC Concierge Carolin YC Concierge Ravi YC Head Butler Luciano YC Assistant Head Butler Rizwan YC Butler Arnold YC Junior Butler Kadek YC Butler Agus YC Junior Butler Marinette YC Butler Vijay YC Lounge Butler Thomas YC Lounge Butler Ariann YC Lounge Butler Sylvia YC Bartender Adnya YC Restaurant Manager Ercan YC Restaurant Sommelier Felix YC Restaurant Hostess Fabiana YC Restaurant Server Sukron YC Restaurant Server Manuel YC Restaurant Server Katna YC Restaurant Server Justine And a special mention to one non-YC person: "Mixologist" Frederick, bartender at the Wine and Cocktails Bar, by the specialty restaurants just outside the YC on Deck 16
  4. In YC, you can get envelopes from the Concierge desk. The concierges are also great help when you want to know how to spell names to write on the envelopes. 😉 Other people to consider tipping in YC are the concierges, the restaurant manager and host(s), the head butler, and the more attentive Top Sail Lounge butlers.
  5. Many Travel Agents "reward" their customers with high amounts of OBC. We had over $1K last cruise, around 15% of the total spend on our YC cabin.
  6. No fee. You don't need to play at all. We just sailed Seaside last week and the week before. We loaded up several times to cash out our OBC since it was too much to take out at once. We played a bit with two separate receipts, but cashed out the other having never used it.
  7. I think we were on that cruise with you -- late Jan/early Feb on Divina? Skipping OC did cause quite an upset with the non-YC guests. Bodies were everywhere on the deck, many not even on loungers. Could barely get around them to walk to Le Muse. 😞
  8. Don't say that on an Italian ship! Isn't nocciola the national nut? LOL
  9. Can't help you at an AI, but Holiday Coffee should be known on Divina, Fantasia and Seaside by now. 🙂
  10. My favorite YC dessert is (my own concoction of) coconut ice cream with Kahlua on top. First had it in Cancun in the 1980s and have loved it ever since.
  11. We "teach" the YC bartender to make what we call Holiday Coffee: over ice, 1 shot espresso, 1 shot Bailey's, 1 shot Kahlua, 1 shot Coconut Rum. We find it best just after breakfast, before moving to Bloody Marys. 🙂
  12. Is this different on Seascape from Seaside? On Seaside, you reserve the "extra" cabanas with the YC concierge for the entire day. Only one cabin gets each cabana each day and a sign is put on the cabana stating "Reserved."
  13. The vitello tonnato is one of our favorites. We can't get enough of that one.
  14. The octopus soup is incredible! Love to start a cruise with octopus. 🙂
  15. Seaside YC had hand soap in bar form last week.
  16. We've done it that way on the Sea class (Seaside) as well as the Fantasia class (Divina). Should work fine for you.
  17. We use up "extra" OBC by turning it into cash in the casino. Choose a slot machine, follow the instructions to load money from your cruise card to the slot machine, then cash out. Take the paper receipt from the cash out to the cashier and they will give you cash. Spend the cash however you wish. 🙂
  18. Also not covered by any package -- the Speakeasy venue.
  19. Exactly! Our experiences with MSC mirror what we've experienced on land holidays in Italia -- including bringing face cloths/wash cloths for our first MSC cruise. (We were in Yacht Club so we did not need them, but brought them just in case. They are always in our "to go" bag anyways.) MSC meets our expectations for an Italian company but exceed sour expectations for a cruise. 🙂
  20. Thanks! We're headed to Port Canaveral today for a Caribbean cruise. Might have to book a new one while on board. 🙂
  21. Browse -- without Stream -- was good enough for us to view a 30 minute YouTube with no interruptions for buffering. Lots of variables can affect it at any given time though, such as volume of users and what they are browsing/streaming.
  22. Totally agree. Can't stand smoke, no matter the source. If there is nothing that affects other passengers, then I have no opinion. But smoke? Not for us.
  23. Oh, I'm so sorry. We were on Divina and Mauricio was the manager of Le Muse there for our two recent sailings. We had servers Edgar and Onel for the two cruises and they both told us that they were looking forward to having our "leftover" lamb. We were happy to help them out.
