  1. Im sure it's the filling rather than the wrapper but I'm certainly no expert. I'm not sure Iris Apfel could pull off the look.
  2. Just keep your card in an RFID sleeve. I Think it would be too bulky if it was all insulated. I'm Not sure about that M. It is silk though. Funny you should say that........ I Do have a pair in that colour but they are a jacquard weave so certainly couldn't be classed as a match! 🙂
  3. I Reckon it would. I Thought about incorporating the Himalayas into my last trip but it would have been too rushed to appreciate them. That might just be one of the highlights of your cruise xxx
  4. Hi Capri, it was an uphill struggle but it was only down to my refusal to be fobbed off that we got anything. Our agent at the time couldn’t get anything from them.
  5. We were given VIP status on our cruise that followed our less than stellar experience on the post stretch Spirit. Laundry, LP Rose and a couple of other perks were included.
  6. An expedition trip to Antarctica has been very high on my list for some time, I was just looking at the pricing on the Endeavour and at £6500 PER NIGHT for a solo in November or £9433 PER NIGHT in January, I Think I might be looking elsewhere.
  7. Thanks all. I'm on curry rest for at least a month so it went down very well. JP, Not sure about that, I haven't worked in a professional kitchen since 1990! I Had a phone call from our fishmonger this morning (one of the best around) telling me they've had a great haul of John Dory in so I'm looking forward to that for the weekend. Mr Luxury, there's plenty left, name your time!
  8. Well I didn't find my recipe so I made it up as I went along. I Added chick peas and pomegranate that weren't in the original but I must say myself it was rather lush.
  9. Some of the Tour searching websites do offer protection against failing to dock. I Do prefer tracking down the actual local company myself and booking direct therefore keeping the cash local but but usually only if it's a fairly low risk port. Many of the tour companies in ports that rely heavily on cruise ships are wise to that and offer similar guarantees. The chunk that would have gone into the cruise line coffers usually makes for a very welcome tip.
  10. How’s she looking since the refurb? Whilst I wouldn’t mind popping back to Dubai for a plate full I think Meopham might be pushing my limits!
  11. I'm not sure that was the suit being referred to Randy.
  12. Glad you enjoyed it QSS. I’ll be making more as time permits. Mr Luxury, at least never intentionally! A Couple of the Heritage hotels on my recent trip were an experience. Part of what I wanted to get from the trip was staying where possible in independent, locally owned Heritage properties that have had a really hard time more so than the big internationally owned Hotels. A Couple of them were incredible properties which were just deserted and obviously had been through tough times recently. I’d still rather stay in a crumbling palace in the middle of a lake with sketchy Wi-Fi and elusive hot water where the pigeons outnumber guests by 500 to 1 though. Actually…… On another note, I enjoyed the most fabulous dish last Friday, Patlıcan Söğürme. A Glorious concoction of Lamb, Aubergine, Tomatoes, Spices and Yoghurt. A Recipe online has evaded me so far, I think I’m going to have to email the hotel. Most recipes online for it are in Turkish and point to vegan🤢 versions. Anyone ever made it?
  13. Haha, Maybe a little. I Stayed at the Strand Palace on my first trip to London as a wide eyed 17 year old!
  14. Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Todays little reel doesn’t quite have the same cultural importance when it comes to subject matter but it was a lot of fun. 24 Hour stopover in Dubai
  15. I Always try to be really helpful and when I see items left on the pool deck I take them straight to reception to hand them in as lost property. People never seem as grateful as they should be though.
  16. Hi all, Sorry I’ve not been about much, I had a busy couple of days at the end of my holiday and came home to the news that my Aunty had passed away suddenly from sepsis whilst I was away. Anyway I had the most fabulous time in India and topped it off with another fab night in Dubai at the end. A Stay at Palazzo Versace and the Prussian brunch was a lot of fun. Delhi airport was nothing other than Purgatory but that’s for another time. Lola, the Taj was an incredible experience. We skipped sunrise as it was going to be too misty so left it until 9ish so it was relatively quiet. There was a lot of chatter in India about things that are afoot in China and people seem to be quite jittery about the situation so that didn’t help. I Went back late afternoon in the vague hope of a sunset but instead the sun just gently dissolved into the sky. It was still magical though. I’ve just done my first little holiday vid of the Taj. M your meal looked lovely. Lririo I’m sorry you were caught up in all of that.
  17. Thanks for that Jilly, I'll have a look when I get home. No Varanasi on this trip. We did see a body being carried through the street here yesterday though and 10 minutes later were watching a Bride arriving at her wedding. The bustle of the place isn't nearly as bemusing as it looks. This place has a way of getting into your soul. Re the Elephants, I Did a lot of research before I came and Elefantastic was the only place in the Elephant village of Jaipur that won't let you ride them. We drove past lines of sad looking elephants all saddled up and "parked" on the roadside on the way in. I'm glad I did that research, It really was one of the highlights of my life.
