  1. Yes I see they now offer an entry level package and then the ability to upgrade to a stream package Of course under their status match for Crystal Society I believe some members will enjoy the better level of access From their website I see the current offer is Surf Wi-Fi Package Allows 1 device per guest with unlimited minutes of access for general web browsing, email, and checking or posting to social media accounts. Stream Wi-Fi Package This upgraded package allows up to 4 devices per guest with unlimited minutes of access to web services offered in the Surf package PLUS access to video streaming, internet telephony as well as VPN/cloud storage services. Guests booked in Penthouse and Premium suite categories, as well as Seabourn Club members who have reached Diamond-level status or above, will automatically receive the Stream package. Those who are booked in Ocean View and Veranda suites can upgrade to the Stream package for a nominal charge. Some exclusions may apply. Guests receiving a complimentary upgrade into a Penthouse or Premium suite will not automatically receive the Stream package. Upgrade charge for Stream Package is per guest. Wi-Fi service may be slower or limited during periods of heavy use. Shipboard internet traffic is satellite dependent, may face intermittent delays or interruptions, and is not guaranteed. Seabourn is not responsible if Wi-Fi service is temporarily unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. Guests are not entitled to a credit or other compensation should Wi-Fi service go unused. Terms of the program are subject to change.
  2. Do they still charge extra for internet access these days? They used to charge extra for those in the entry level cabins - that did surprise me
  3. and that’s a FACT The devils in the detail, as is often the case
  4. Have you tried searching the forums or even just scrolling back over recent topics - this comes up regularly and has been answered a thousand times already For me I’d use a good TA every time - access to their knowledge across multiple travel items and a healthy rebate or obc to enjoy
  5. Not sure about “kill” but I certainly agree the general direction on lines is to a more relaxed format Make formal optional rather than mandatory (eg Regent have) - sure have minimum standards (eg no jeans - why on earth did I chose that non controversial example 😉) but don’t mandate formal I just don’t understand what difference what I choose to wear makes one single difference to your cruise experience
  6. So did the Silversea direct booking offer you a substantial rebate/obc off the list price fare? Or maybe I should be asking did the TA not offer you a substantial rebate/obc off the list price fare? Interesting, as I know Australian based TAs who offer such rebates so what you’re reporting surprises me
  7. I’d want to vote for a few of those choices - imho it’s not a case of one over all others Choice is good My bags are packed (again)
  8. More like when the grand parents get the 35mm slides out to regale you with every photo and detail of their travels - for the 57th time….
  9. Some of them…. I guess it’s the nature of these sort of “off topic” threads - full of stuff that some find interesting or amusing - occasionally
  10. Good to hear you’re recovering Suspect you over dosed on Blue Turtle Gin 😉😂
  11. You should do it on Crystal Symphony - the Avenue awaits https://www.crystalcruises.com/search?itineraries[refinementList][departure][0]=202312&itineraries[refinementList][departure][1]=202401&itineraries[refinementList][ship][0]=CSY&itineraries[sortBy]=sort_departure_asc
  12. Sale fares are always good if they suit Plenty of flights from Sydney to Auckland to connect to the AKL to JFK direct flight (assuming it’s the right day) Most Australians want to avoid LAX due to the pathetic immigration “process” and delays - so if NYC is the preferred destination the direct flight is much better - maybe they treat their own citizens better than those from other countries The other downside of the Air NZ option is the weird seating arrangement in Business class - feet to the aisle - not my preference
  13. Air NZ does offer JFK to AKL direct - just not everyday (nor does Qantas offer it daily) - and they’re not Oneworld members (they’re Star Alliance) so points couldn’t be earned on AA https://www.airnewzealand.com.au/flights/en-au/flights-to-new-york#:~:text=Air New Zealand can get,Mondays%2C Thursdays%2C and Saturdays. The Antarctic Centre is definitely worth a visit and is located within the airport surrounds
  14. omg - even cheaper than Yellowtail I suppose I should be glad they’re exporting it so less risk of coming across it here in Australia My comment re the China ban impacts some of the better quality wines - Penfolds have certainly been impacted
  15. As can many of the guests 😂😂😂😉 Nice to have choice and options and that will continue for many of us going forward
  16. Great performer and a really nice guy - we enjoyed meeting him on Silversea a couple of months ago
  17. Good news today that John Joseph has announced he will be appearing on Crystal Serenity on the inaugural cruise One of my favourites i guess we’ll see the roster of entertainers and enrichment programme members appearing over the coming weeks
  18. The benefit from AmEx comes when you least expect it - as many found out in early 2022 When a supplier defaults then AmEx stands by their customers - unlike Visa and MasterCard who go searching for the fine print
  19. Oh well I guess you will insist on the Crystal Penthouse 😂😂😂 My money (but not a lot of it) is on your agent having an optimistic outlook and wanting to get the booking committed - but it will really boil down to the category you’re looking at (and maybe even the preferred location?) as well as the particular sailing - I’m sure there are some sailings that will be fully booked in some categories
  20. Yes we successfully did a status match based on our Crystal status - we submitted a copy of our last booking confirmation which listed the number of completed cruises - that was all they required from us
  21. Actually I think you’ll find there’s a surplus of Australian wine on the market as the Chinese are currently boycotting it due to a political fight we’re having with them - so theAussie export market is a little challenged - so it’s got to go somewhere….
  22. Sadly that’s what we had on Silver Muse back in February - certainly not my preference either For clarity - we did get a bar of soap as well - but the shampoo was refilled in the big bottle/dispenser each day
  23. Still no roll calls for the early voyages including the inaugural? - that just seems strange to me Are roll calls on CC a thing anymore?
  24. Thanks for the great analysis - not too many wait lists it seems - nothing like a bit of hard data to crystallise thinking Here’s the notice on emails - it’s been out there for quite a while
  25. I don’t know where you were looking for info but I don’t agree with your statement above - there was plenty of info available on their offerings and itineraries and they opened for bookings well before a month or so ago
