  1. Dude, don't get defensive when people call you out for asking if it's OK to steal from Royal. What you are asking is exactly the reason why everybody over 21 in a cabin now has to purchase the DBP. Bottom line is take your chances and let us know how it works out.
  2. That's sweet, I see Radiance is doing a couple of 9 nights in 2023 and Harmony about 8 in 2024. We missed Coco Caye in Thanksgiving on the Wonder when the captain couldn't dock due to high seas. Since we only live a few hours from Galveston we might have to try this.
  3. I usually go to Airplane mode as soon as we pull away and only use ships wifi calling unless we hit a US port and I can get ATT. I could see the coast of FL on the horizon and just for research turned on cellular and it came up with AT SEA and not ATT.
  4. No way to know, I tracked ours for a year after I bought it and it bounced all over the place. At 30 days out I would doubt it will come down.
  5. On Wonder in an OS for Thanksgiving we got a text a couple of days before that we could check in one hour either side of our assigned time. You shouldn't have an issue.
  6. Wonder refrigerator in our OS was cold but no where near freezing. Maybe the medical center would store it for you.
  7. Can you? Of course you can try and if you get caught they will cancel your DBP with no refund and back charge you for all the other drinks. The bartenders and computer are really good at tracking your drinking habits and catching people who try to "game" the system. Let us know how it works out for you.
  8. Exactly what we do when we sail. WiFi calling works great even in port. If trying to send photos while in a US port I will switch to cellular only because it's faster.
  9. Maybe a little less. Last month I could see Miami as we sailed south but got no land based service only AT SEA.
  10. We did at both USVI and Puerto Rico, works just like at home in CA.
  11. Exactly, on Wonder and Navigator in the last four months both had a metal swing top trash can next to the toilet that was for "nasty wet" trash. The cabin had a waste basket for other dry stuff. I usually leave the recyclable bottles and cans sitting on the desk and they just disappear. It's nice you are concerned about the staff sorting through trash.
  12. Yes, Princess does it a couple of times a year either from San Francisco or San Pedro. We had it booked for 2021, but COVID put a crimp in those plans. So we moved it to 2022. We had it booked this last March for 15 nts from SF. They seem to offer it around March and April. We ended up canceling but our friends went. They had a horrible time. The weather was cold and rainy and the seas were rough. It wasn't until they got a day from HI that it was nice and then got bad again a day after they headed back. The port stop was Ensenada on the way back. Looks like there's about 30 sailings for 2022, 2023, and 2024 doing that route either from SF or LA.
  13. We were just on the Wonder for Thanksgiving in an OS and our kids were in a JS. We had them as our guests twice. The first time I asked early in the day if I could bring them. They were very clear the first time I asked for them to join us "it's based on space available." Most times after 7:30-8:00 pm there was plenty of space. The Ass't Manager wasn't all that happy, but could do it at 8 PM. After a few days onboard and becoming friendly with the CK staff I asked again. This time it was while we were having a cocktail and waiting for our table for two. The kids texted and asked to join us in CK. I asked if we could add the two kids and after some juggling and a little longer wait for a table they made it work. CK food was good and service was outstanding. Ask for Michael as your waiter.
  14. CruiserBruce makes good points. If it's not just for you and they won't wait then NOPE I wouldn't do it. Weather in San Francisco can be unpredictable at best. We once sat outside the Golden Gate for four hours waiting for the fog to left so we could enter the bay and dock.
  15. Totally agree, get a TA and let them handle it. Less hassle (it's vacation) and less hard feelings if something goes wrong. It's been a long time since we had enough for our own group, but our TA took care of everything. Even now, our TA puts us in groups that we don't even belong to just to get the benefits. She once got us $900 OBC by the time all was said and done.
  16. After traversing the locks on the Atlantic side and crossing Lake Gatun the locks on the Pacific side were like watching paint dry. Granted, we only did the "old" locks, so the new side might be different (I doubt it). It's still a slow process going up/down the locks and after a couple it's time for lunch and a cocktail. The lake is pretty with the jungle coming down to the water and some small villages you can see from the ship. If you feel to "do" the PC you need to go ocean to ocean then by all means do it. We found the ports on the Caribbean/Atlantic side much more interesting than the Pacific side. Costa Rica excursions from Pacific side was long and Mexico is Mexico. I would rather spend my time in the Caribbean.
  17. Yes and having done the full PC transit my preference would be to enter from the Atlantic to Lake Gatun, turn around, and come back out.
  18. I used FB with no issue on Wonder a couple of weeks ago with just Surf.
  19. I just went to book a Voyager sailing in 2024 for 15 nts and the difference is $1200 for a GS. The deposit is $900 and the difference is $6500 vs $9700.
  20. We had a formal night on Navigator 4 nts in July. We had both a formal and dress your best on 7 nts on Wonder in November. Funny thing was the description of formal and dress your best were the same in the compass.
  21. Navigator in July wasn't requiring them in the terminal or on board. There were signs all over saying "encouraging" to wear. I would estimate we saw 10% with masks during boarding and almost none once on the ship.
  22. True, our grandson got them there when he left the gym. But I think that's the only place that even makes them.
