  1. @boscobeans I believe that it was a bit confusing because your original post lacked some context.

Your title "Annoying bedside cubbies?" led me to believe you were going to complain about the cubbies.

In the text, had you started with "You know those annoying cubbies next to the beds where you're always having a tough time reaching things?" or "I have a great hack on how to turn those annoying cubbies into a useful space" it would have helped in the understanding of you suggestion.

  2. So, I was curious about Chargerback and how it works. This link appears to say that the label was printed by RCCL. "When the shipping label gets printed by the venue where you left your item(s), you will receive an email notifying you your item will soon be on its way. This email will include a tracking number. If you do not receive a tracking number within 48 hours of filing your report, we recommend you contact their Lost and Found Department." "The tracking process will not start until the item has been picked up and scanned by the carrier (USPS, FedEx, etc.). Once it has been scanned, the tracking number will be active. If your tracking number is not active within 24 hours on a weekday, or on a Monday after a weekend, we recommend you contact the Lost and Found Department at the venue where you left your item."

Interesting concept to outsource this to a 3rd party. Seems if you are unable to get a tracking history past "label created" you are still in the hands of RCCL.

  3. Have you tried the "Find My" app that is on Apple products? Also, make sure to mark as lost on the app. It sounds unfortunate; however, you may be able to file a police report. If you have proof (as you mention you do) that RCCL/Chargeback admitted to having possession and now can't find it...That may help with any insurance you have on the iPad to get replaced. I hope you backed up your data to iCloud or another storage option.

  4. @Floridamarie If you received a tracking number the issue is 1)they created the label but didn't actually ship it or 2) that this is now a FedEx issue. If you use FedEx tracking and under details it says "shipping label created"...That means it was never actually picked up by a driver or dropped off at a location.

"That same day, I received an email advising item was found! Yay!  They requested a CC for $39.99 for fed ex postage to return item to me.  I received an email indicating receipt of payment and a tracking #."

  5. @kenns I was just going to say I would place my money on Private Equity. I did read that there is a shareholder in Genting Hong Kong and it's sister companies that is a Billionaire (Lim Thay, maybe?) and he may attempt to bail out the cruiseline/shipyard businesses.

*just found out that Lim Kok Thay is the son of the founder of the Genting Group.

  6. @Dizzy49 If this is a deposition and not the trial your wife should have the ability to reschedule. Proving that the trip was scheduled before the subpoena was served. She should have an attorney handle this. I STRONLGLY recommend she get her own attorney since she was subpoenaed. I find it strange the defendant is wanting your wife to testify. That makes it seem her testimony would strengthen his defense.

  7. I have done all three within the past 5 years. I have reviews in my signature. None since the 'Rona. My $.02:

For the money I believe Princess is the better value. There were far fewer kids on Princess than the other two, the entertainment options felt geared to a more "sophisticated" guest. I also thought the food was the "best" on Princess.

There was a recent thread regarding Princess v. Carnival here is my response in that thread:

  8. @GeezerCouple I just looked at the floorplans and it does seem like it would have been a lovely experience. I didn't realize it was right next to windows! This is the note on the page "Note: Norwegian Pearl accommodations will undergo a significant renovation. After December 5, 2021, this stateroom will no longer have a bathtub, and the photos and floorplan will change."  My quick google search didn't turn up any new floor plans.

  9. I looked at them Pre-Covid as a solo for a balcony (sea terrace) and at that time I made the choice that the price wasn't "right" for me. There was no drink package.

I just looked and now that I'm a we the cost doesn't seem crazy for a XL sea terrace BUT to be charged by the drink or buy a prepaid $300 bar tab seems kinda nuts. I like a drink package so I don't really have to think about it. 6 days at about 2500 (there is a promotion; they include tips and a basic wifi) or 3000 standard is a bit high. I priced a similar cruise on Princess that included a drinks package and upgraded wifi and tips and it's only 2600.

I'm a big believer in value is in the eye of the beholder. Some folks are willing to pay a bit more for the experience of a new line/ship, no kids, and the "hip factor".
