  1. Hi Jacqui: We have cancelled our Zuiderdam - 28-May-23 - 35 day British Isles, Sptisbergen & Icelandic Fiords cruise. Replacing it with a Germany/Austria road trip instead. Thank you!
  2. Hello Jacqui, We have decided to cancel Zuiderdam - 10-Oct-23 - 73 day Grand Africa. We replaced it with a much shorter voyage that immerses in certain parts of Africa. Thank you!
  3. Thank you, #VMax1700, for continuing to assemble this information. I find it useful (and reassuring) when booking and monitoring our travel. Question for you. There seems to be a gap in the Westerdam's schedule on the HAL site from 1/19/2023 to 2/3/2023. Both of these dates have the ship in Singapore, but I don't see any itineraries even when using the Sold Out filter. I was under the impression that this was to be a dry dock scheduled for Westerdam. Do you have any information?
  4. Thank you for your insights about bunker fuel. Do the HAL cruise ships use fuels other than bunker fuel for propulsion--to any significant degree?
  5. We're in a similar boat as you. We were also cancelled from the June 2022 Volendam North Cape/Spitsbergen/Iceland cruise. As a replacement, we booked a Viking Ocean cruise from London to North Cape and the Baltic to see this region. We've been loyal with HAL, but with this Volendam cancellation we took the opportunity to try Viking, and it may become a trend for us. We'd also booked a HAL Spitsbergen/Iceland cruise in May/June 2023. Based on the above posts, I feel that we'll be very disappointed again if Spitsbergen is removed from the itinerary. That would trigger our cancellation because Spitsbergen would be the main purpose for our taking the cruise. So sad that Princess had to wait until after your final payment/cancellation date to inform you of this major itinerary change. Hardly seems fair...
  6. Hi Jacqui: You probably know this already, but HAL recently cancelled all Volendam cruises in July, Aug & September including our September 10th Ancient Mysteries collector cruise. Thanks anyway for posting!
  7. Our fully-paid Volendam sailing date 6/12/22 Cancellation notification received 4/1/22 Submitted cancellation request form 4/4/22 Received refund into our cc account on 4/8/22 Very fast if you ask me. I think the key is to make sure you submit your cancellation form ASAP.
  8. I think you’re talking about the statement you can access on paper or via Navigator while on board? My sailing isn’t for a few months and I’m just planning ahead and setting my own expectations. 🧐
  9. Thanks for the good suggestions. How do you look up an onboard credit, though, on paper or otherwise to see its terms? [Just to be clear, this is not a Future Cruise Credit.]
  10. I've always been a fan of using Flight Ease Flexible Fares because I can defer payment and change or cancel the flights up to around the time of the cruise final payment date. Plus, if HAL cancels the cruise I'm not stuck with airline flight credits. This time I'm looking at the Flight Ease Restricted Fares because of a good itinerary offered. My question is, if I book a Restricted Fare and later voluntarily cancel the cruise and/or the flights (not related to HAL's COVID-19 Protection Plan or Cancellation Protection Plans) does HAL issue an FCC for the value of the Restricted Fare, or are those funds completely forfeit?
  11. I received two "refundable credits" issued to me by HAL as compensation after they canceled four of my cruises on the Volendam this summer ("refundable" per the cancellation emails from Gus). One has been applied as onboard credit on an upcoming sailing, and another is in my Mariner Account awaiting application to a different sailing. I won't be able to spend these during the upcoming cruise, unless I buy some watches that I don't wear πŸ˜‰ or cancel & re-book some shore excursions while on board. If I don't spend the credit, is it refunded to my credit card at the end of the cruise or just lost??
  12. Based on the email we received from Gus at 6:00 pm today, I gather it is Netherlands and involvement with the City of Rotterdam. Dear Valued Guest, I am writing to share with you we have extended our charter agreement with Netherlands and City of Rotterdam officials through September 14, 2022 for Volendam to continue to be berthed in Rotterdam where she has been providing a temporary home for 1,200 Ukrainian refugees. The extended charter will now run through September 14 and will house up to 1,500 refugees, part of a larger commitment from the Netherlands to accommodate 50,000 refugees from Ukraine.
