  1. I'm curious. Was the PVP able to get your taxes and port fees refunded with you using two rooms for two people?
  2. I just did a check on a 6 day Magic cruise for next September. It was a $100 deposit ($50 pp).
  3. Sorry, I should have thought about that. I assumed you already were platinum. To be honest, I don't know that I even have any of the gold pins. Forgot about even getting those.
  4. Yes, I remember the generic pins they used. We got one of those on Sunrise in September of 21. But, I'm pretty sure that all of ours from last year were ship specific, including Valor in Jan 2022 and Vista back in September. I can't remember for sure on Mardi Gras, but I have pictures in my phone of Valor 2022 and Vista 2022.
  5. I don't think John ever called it luggage. He just used the words set, or collection. Luggage is just what the original poster used.
  6. We were getting off the Saturday you got on. We got the koozies and our pins, but you go to the pixels gallery to pick them up. They aren't delivered to your room. We also received the large bottles of water available at any bar.
  7. It was a Facebook video. They didn't post individual pictures. Screenshots of it wouldn't be very good.
  8. I'm guessing that it is similar to Mardi Gras. On Mardi Gras we had six different comedians for the week.
  9. Same. We use those on a regular basis. Our last several cruises we got the koozies three times, some type of photo book, and the luggage tags three times. We haven't used any of these items and gave all the koozies away.
  10. The first appeared to be a small tote bag to me. It didn't have any zippers or closures like a duffel bag. Another change from what they were originally saying is that they will only offer one of them for the next several months. After they have offered each of them, then they will allow you to pick. It had been sounding like you would be able to pick from them right away. Definitely upgrades from the last couple of offerings, though I'm not sure how many men will use a fanny pack.
  11. It was broken down at one time. I was looking for this same information last week and couldn't find it anywhere.
  12. Same. We have taken a January cruise on Valor twice (2020, 2022) and will also be on it next week. We've always had good experiences. Hopefully, this one will be the same. Our daughter and son-in-law were on it in November and they had a good time.
  13. Keep in mind the onboard price is higher than the pre-cruise purchase price. If I'm not mistaken, it is the difference you paid for the social plan and the onboard price for the other plans. If you think you will need the other, it is better to choose it before. Personally, I never get less than the value plan.
  14. Yes, the internet was already much faster on Mardi Gras as well, so this should only help even more.
  15. Belize is a very long tender ride to the port (20-25 minutes). Would not recommend going out on your own outside the immediate port area there. We avoid cruises that go there or stay on the ship if we do.
  16. Just checked our notes and we were on the shuttle a few minutes after 9. I don't remember if there was more than one at the time. I do remember that I had to ask about the shuttle because once you got outside it was chaotic in that area. There was a line that appeared to be the shuttle line, but it turned out being a line of folks waiting for check in on the next cruise. Glad I asked a worker before waiting in that line.
  17. Yes. Uber or Lyft are much better options than using the shuttle. You will save an enormous amount of time.
  18. We used the shuttle from the POM to the Miami airport in the fall of 2021 because our flight was later and we weren't in a big hurry. It's a good thing. We had to wait for the shuttle to fill completely up, which took 20 minutes after we got on and there were only about 10 spots remaining then. After we finally left, like on your trip, there was more than one stop at the airport. The driver made everyone stay on the bus until all the luggage for that stop was unloaded (seemed like a move to keep from missing out on tips while unloading other luggage). That process took a while, so if you were on the second stop, you had another 30 minutes or so after you arrived at the airport. Never again! We will take Uber even if we are not in a hurry.
  19. Same. My wife and I have three cruises booked this year and two next year. All three this year were booked with the 50th anniversary deals from last spring. That's really the only thing that has kept us from cancelling our April Mardi Gras cruise after the port change to Nassau from San Juan. Final payment is due in a couple of weeks and right now we've only paid a deposit, so we may still cancel. Right now, we have January and April cruises booked for next year, with April being the Jubilee. We aren't looking to book another Carnival cruise right now. We are going to see how these upcoming cruises go. We are looking at possible doing another cruise line next fall.
  20. Yes, there is a very small number of cabins for that many people. During that time of year, it's easy to imagine they are all booked up.
