  1. I think pretty mu ch all cruise lines do that.
  2. And what I was commenting on was in their brochures we only hear testimonials to how wonderful it is.
  3. I don't know whether my thread title was incomplete or the body of my post and the title were not in sync. I think the latter is more likely true. But, you know what they say, "To err is human", so I guess I have preserved my humanity.
  4. But if you read their advertising, it is the single greatest development ever in the history of the cruise industry. 🤦‍♂️
  5. I guess I did ask that in the post, but OTOH the thread title asks which ships, so that would include the Prima.
  6. I wonder if they will ever finish that dock. 😒
  7. The law of supply and demand always rules. If there was not the pent up demand, they could raise the price all they wanted, but it would not work. There would not be enough demand at those price points. One strategy that they seem to be using is to make the initial price seem to be low, and then charge for all sorts of things onboard.
  8. Part of the cause Part of the cause of higher fares has to be pent up demand. And that of course can be at least partially blamed on Covid as the cruise industry came to a holt.
  9. OP back. SHE'S HOME from the hospital! Thanks once again to all who sent well wishes and/or prayers. Advice--do not let your bowel get twisted! Just constipation at first, but then it gets worse. Don't wait until the gas pain is so much you pass out. Get to an emergency room.
  10. I am jealous! We had Brugge so planned out. and then got a cancellation notice saying the tides were too low, only 1 foot. Have they cancelled Isafjordur for you yet?
  11. At least NCL is going in the opposite direction of most lines, as their newest ships the Prima class are smaller than their last ships the Epic and the Breakaway.
  12. Unfortunately, they are not alone. NCL told me their website did not work well with Microsoft edge.
  13. Yes, I noticed that on the NCL Prima. In a question and answer session with the officers, I asked how many rooms the stewards now had and was it more than pre-Covid. The officers in charge of the stewards, Josef, sort of talked around my question.
  14. We were on a small, less than 700 passenger Princes ship, and docked in Rosyth. We bought roundtrip train tickets, but by the time we got back to the train station, the last train to Rosyth had departed. We ended up taking a taxi back to the ship. There was an overnight, so there was no chance we would be left behind,
  15. We really enjoyed this venue on the Prima. Which other ships. if any, have it?
  16. Not thinking of anything until I get DW out of the hospital. But before that on the ship, we went to the Cruise Next presentation. DW highlighted all the cruises out of NY City (where we would not have to fly. I looked for itineraries that included Zeebrugge, so we finally get to Brugge, but I did notice they were all on the oldest ships. I would do the Prima again, but preferably in warm weather. We've been on the Epic, and frankly it was too large for me. I do think a Syd Norman's Pour House on a ship would be a positive for me, but really we mostly choose a cruise for the itinerary. Not on topic here, but I thought I would mention something I noticed on their itinerary schedules. They listed the actual ports as opposed to listing Rome or Florence. Given that, I was surprised to see Edinburg as even on a small ship (the former Ocean Princess less than 700 passengers), we were at a port outside of Edinburg. So, I asked if they actually went there as opposed to another port. The answer was yes, but a long tender. (I forget if she said 20 or 30 minutes.)
  17. I know I focused more on the good reviews for the Prima than the negative ones. And things were not perfect, but we very much enjoyed the cruise.
  18. Easy to get pricing, call a TA and let him or her quote the price for you. It also may very well be lower than what you would get on the Princess site.
  19. We did not get to Brugge as there were extremely low tides that caused the cancellation of the Zeebrugge's port. We had booked Brugge on Your Own. I know it started off seeming expensive as opposed to just going there, but after my $50 off for BOGO and both of our 10% off for our Latitudes status, it was competitive. We figured it was worth it to avoid having to figure out transportation back and forth plus there was supposed to be someone on the bus who could help you plan. We really, really want to get there someday!
  20. I did not mention at one point, DW wanted to switch our August 6th cruise to August 27th with the same itinerary. Since she is in the hospital, that obviously would not have worked out. As of now she is getting better and 🤞 will be discharged on Thursday. My sincere thanks go out to all of you who sent good wishes and/or prayers.
  21. I think you would be better off seeking an answer in the insurance forum, https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/2648-qa-cruise-insurance-with-steve-dasseos-of-the-tripinsurancestorecom-summer-2023/
  22. We had a totally rainy day in London on our pre-cruise day. It didn't really matter that much as we basically spent the whole time in the British Museum. DW who taught art for 40 years or so before retiring does not understand how people cannot spend so much time in museums. We have been in London a few times, both pre-cruise and land trips, so we have seen much of the city. (Though of course you can never see it all.) And come to think of it, it was rainy our last pre-cruise day there, in fact we were told it was the remnants of a hurricane.
  23. It's always best to hear from someone who has the true knowledge because of his or her experience. On our NCL cruise earlier this month, the checkout was too efficient, got us there before the cabin ws ready. LOL. NCL has you upload your picture in their pre-boarding process to get your documents. It specifically says without glasses. Our check in person retook the picture. I asked if I should take my glasses off, and he said no, only my sunglasses which were perched on my forehead. I started two threads about our August 6th-17th cruise on the Prima in the NCL section, one was basically a review and the other was how it was almost a disaster.
