  1. Yes, it was an option that made sense. It was right by the cabin door, and the control to make the room cooler and warmer were also right there. But if Princess had this option, I am sure the wonderful IT people who brought you the medallion would have screwed ti up. 🤣
  2. No surprise, rain in London. We had a pre-cruise day in London and it poured. Luckily our hotel room was ready so we could shower and get a little rest before leaving our hotel by the airport to go to London. We spent over 4 hours in the British Museum (DW is a retired art teacher) which was at least out of the rain. DW has said if it was not for the rain we would have then walked around to see if there was anything else of interest, maybe by the palace. And the last time we were in London on a pre-cruise day, there was the remnants of a hurricane, so again of course rain.
  3. Not on the NCL Prima on which we sailed last month. Do not disturb or fix room is controlled electronically within the room.
  4. 😢😢, ugh that sounds awful. Would be awful even without the pregnancy, but that just makes it worse. Banning smoking on airlines has to be the greatest regulation ever! 😊😊
  5. We were on the Prima last month, London (Southampton) to Reykjavik. And yes the ship would be better for a warmer climate cruise, but we still enjoyed our cruise immensely. And we don't understand the criticisms of the buffet layout. We thought it was fine, and also never had a problem finding seating generally though leaving the immediate buffet area for seats. Glad they went smaller. Our last NCL cruise was on the Epic, and it was much too large. The other cruise lines seem to be going in the opposite direction, building bigger and bigger ships.
  6. Can't the steward unlock a cabin door? Isn't that how they get in to service the cabin?
  7. It should be noted that sometimes a passenger's idea of what is a better cabin and the cruise lines idea of what is a better cabin may differ. Would you want a higher category cabin if it was directly under a noisy spot?
  8. I second that. We flew once from NY to San Francisco for a wedding back when they still allowed smoking. We were in the non-smoking section, but the smoking section was right in front of us. The couple in front of us actually were not smoking, just holding lit cigarettes the entire flight. I thought I was going to die before the flight was over.
  9. I should add, we also had pounds in London. We did manage to spend them, but if we had none, it would not have ever mattered as we could have used a credit card.
  10. Not only HAL, but all other cruise lines owned by the Carnival Corporation!
  11. I can confirm that about Europe. We had Euros, but almost every place we tried to spend them in Amsterdam only took credit or debit cards.
  12. That policy not only applies to NCL. I once reviewed 2 Carnival excursions, one a glowing review and the other a total pan. I bet you can guess which one did not meet their standards.
  13. We were on an NCL cruise last month, London (Southampton) to Reykjavik. Talk about challenging wifi, I saw on the deck plans an internet cafe. But it turned out that there were no desktops there. Made our 250 free internet minutes totally worthless. 😒
  14. I knew you would come through with the definitive answer. 😊 I hope you put everyone's mind at rest who read this thread and had this concern.
  15. Maybe @Ferry_Watcher, someone who checks passengers into cruises, will see your post and be able to answer our specific question.
  16. Funny, just this morning while walking with DW, I asked her if those pools on deck 8 were heated. And her answer was yes.
  17. Yes, it is always approved as it is a relatively inexpensive marketing tool for the Carnival Corporation. When the effects of Covid hit the cruise lines, there were several doomsayers on these boards that just knew they would get rid of it, or at least double the number of shares needed to get the OBC. Many of us correctly argued back that that was not going to happen. And we see it has not, as again it is a marketing tool for them that costs them very little compared to what it brings in.
  18. Probably true, I cannot argue with that. That's probably why they do the Rumors show on 2 separate nights.
  19. I will agree with that. On the first available Syd Norman night, we got there late, and I did not really expect to get in. But I did, and others even got in later than me. On some later nights, I saw people lined up way, way early.
  20. We had trouble spending Euros in Amsterdam. Trying to get them to accept dollars would have been a joke.
  21. That is also how we got to Heathrow.
  22. All of these posts have whetted my appetite to see more episodes of this show. I remember the ones I saw were on demand on the Smithsonian Channel. But, when I go there now, I no longer see any available. 😒
  23. And it does unfortunately get progressively more expensive as you get older.
  24. Yes, inquiring minds want to know. Maybe their faces would have just been covered on the show with a blurred image or some sort of covering.
  25. We sailed on the Prima 8/6-8/17---no theme nights.
