  1. Your information isn't correct. I was on a Norwegian fjords cruise last June and NOTHING was frozen.
  2. I haven't actually dined at Eden but the current concept of the restaurant isn't meant to be dinner theater with a show specific to that venue. It's just another specialty restaurant. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. A special treat on E-Class Spa Cafes in the Solarium is the coffee machines are those fancy automatic espresso machines which is self serve and complementary. The complimentary coffee machines in other Spa Cafes and other areas of the ship are your standard drip coffee machines.
  4. End of June. Won't be as hot, less kids. I was on a similar itinerary on Royal this July 23rd -30th and it was so ungodly hot and although Celebrity will have less kids than Royal it was kids, kids, kids and families, families, families. The pool deck was a hot mess all seven days during the day. TBH I will NEVER ever do a Mediterranean cruise July or August again .NEVER. Santorini was unbearable with the hoards of tourists. Luckily I've been to all the places before. Mykonos was a bit better and what my family members who have never been on a Greek Islands cruise thought it would be. They really didn't like Santorini at all solely because of the crowds. It was over 95 degrees in Rome the two days pre- cruise.
  5. An just to be clear, there's no complementary coffee service at any Cafe Al Bacio fleetwide. Some cruiselines do put out complementary drip coffee near their for fee coffee counters but not Celebrity.
  6. Interesting. (Oh and it was to the LEFT of the Martini Bar,lol) The genesis for the Edge Class Grand Plaza concept was the grand European Piazzas like Piazza Navona in Rome that combine food, drink and people watching. In practice it was duplicative of Cafe Al Bacio and tucked away as to not being visible. For others reading this thread, the first photo below shows a screened off section just to the left of the Martini Bar where there was a food counter with display cases for tidbits. Oh also in looking back on my photos from that cruise we had special entertainment brought on from Puerto Rico, which was one of the Port stops. LLP was onboard and introduced this special show. Photos to follow. Lastly I think I and others interchange an Inaugural cruise with a maiden voyage which certainly can be one in the same but most often not.
  7. Sorry to hear that. Since we're talking about 5he Edge's maiden voyages, do you remember that Cafe counter in the corner of the Grand Plaza to right of the Martini bar? Do you happen to get any rood from there? Apparently it was such a failure that by our cruise, the 2nd 7 day itinerary ever, it was closed from day 1 and never used. A real design failure.
  8. The Edge had TWO official maiden voyages, Dec. 9th and 16th 2018. I was on the latter for the maiden Eastern Caribbean itinerary We had special souvenirs, nice water bottles, that we still use to this day. And luggage tags.
  9. That's news to me. I was just on the Apex in July for 12 nights and didn't see anything remotely like the initial entertainment from the Edge. And you say so yourself that there's soloist and duo music programming, which your initial response to my post about the entertainment didn't reveal. So to be clear, there is traditional entertainment being performed in the Eden like this wonderful musician and singer on the Apex a couple of years ago. PXL_20211215_010448712.TS (2).mp4
  10. Just a reminder this WAS the dreaded entertainment in Eden when the Edge first debuted back in December 2018. Are you implying this is something similar to what you saw? VID_20181217_230155251 (1).mp4
  11. What type of entertainment did you see? I've been on the Beyond. What type of performance did you see that was unique? What we saw was almost like a variety show with multiple acts like a violinist, singer, gymnastics.
  12. Haven't sailed them. I here Holland America also? Haven't sailed them either.
  13. The entertainment in Eden is no longer Avant guarde performance art but instead a mix of performers from singers, musicians, trios, violinists acrobatics, gymnastics. The shows that debuted on the Edge during its first year haven't existed for years.
  14. No, it's located in the Solarium/indoor pool area. There's no Celebrity thermal suite that has a water feature, which is a serious omission for a top tier cruiseship thermal suite.
  15. Agreed. That benefit works well, no issue although the photo area doesn't always have the qualified people on embarkation day. You can still activate and take photos from day 1. Having said that Celebrity fleetwide seems to have cutback on the number of photographers and their availability. On the Solstice and Apex this year the photographers were never out when we wanted to take photos. Even on Chic Night they aren't out early in the evening. We always have dinner around 7-730 and trying to take photos before dinner the photographers aren't setup between 630-730 but later.
  16. Going to AC today, staying at Caesars but having dinner at Hardrock. Then going again for Thanksgiving and was able to get enough comped rooms at Tropicana and Hard Rock to invite the whole family. Thanksgiving dinner will be at The palms Steakhouse in Tropicana.
  17. No, only premium coffees and water(I assume soft drinks) but nothing with alcohol.
  18. They did but only the OP received a cabin upgrade to Retreat and their friends didn't since Retreat was sold out.
  19. Regarding the last two benefits, you see they apply to the highest tier and incorporate some of the Retreat level benefits. It seems whatever cabin you choose you'll get free gratuities and pre-embarkation assistance from the Retreat Concierge team.
  20. VIP lounge access, which means either Michael's Club or the Retreat Lounge, was rescinded since the pandemic and never added back as a BCC benefit.
  21. The Elite Happy Hour drinks isn't available in any restaurants or MDRs.
  22. Hello. It's bbena bout six years since my last NCL cruise and I'll be sailing the new viva next month. what is the current policy for dropping off carryon bags on embarkation day? When are the cabins generally available? Sapphire here if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!
  23. Thank you for your detailed explanation. I'm glad it all worked out for you. It's also good information for others in the future .
