Hi lovely cruise mentors,
We are off on a cruise on Carnival Splendor on Thurs. Dress code policy says no shorts. My experience on Princess has been shorts are fine in MDR on non-formal nights. Is this the same for Carnival? The men in our group are all planning on long pants for formal night, just planning on jean shorts/dress shorts the other nights.
Thanks.

Thank you. It’s my brother-in-laws first cruise and he is anxious about being away from his business.

We are cruising from Sydney to Moreton Island at the end of the month. Will we connect to mobile service along the Coast or not?

Thank you again. 🙂

Thank you all. You have covered all the things I wanted - cocktails, beer and coffee.

Could someone please share drink price details for Carnival Splendor? I am sailing Nov 30.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip.
Was the car available at the port / easy to find?
Thanks!
They met us within a very short walk of the port, then shuttle to their office for pickup. Same in reverse when dropping car off.

In Feb 2020 we hired a car and drove to Wai-o-Tapu then afterwards to Matamata for the Hobbiton tour. We made it back to the ship with no issues. We hired through this company - https://www.ritepricerentals.co.nz/car-hire-tauranga/

Looking at the webcam, it’s still not in…

I love the Halloween decor - some talented veggie carvers at work there. Thanks for posting this info and these pics.

Hi.
We are on the Dec 8 Majestic Princess cruise, stopping at Lautoka. Can you share tours or recommendations for this port please? I posted in the Ports of Call board but it seems pretty quiet there.

With whom will you be renting your car.
We have hired through Rite Price rentals as they are close to the port in Tauranga.

Thank you @Budget Queen. I am not sure we will have 3 hours with needing to pick up the car and allow for traffic. I will try and plan for as long a time there as I can.
-
Thank you @IWantToLiveOverTheSea. You have certainly helped me as we may not have the 3 hours recommended. At least I know we will still be able to see a lot.
-
Thank you @ozzandwitchy. I understand now why they say 3 hours.

Hi,
Newbie question - I am cruising on the Ruby Princess next month and wondered if I need to bring socket adaptors so I can plug in my chargers etc - assuming they are US style on the ship? TIA!

Their website says allow at least three hours. https://www.waiotapu.co.nz/plan-your-visit/
I would have thought less but it's many years since I last went there.
Thank you @OzKiwiJJ. I read the website but thought three hours seemed a lot for the features listed. Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone.
Just wondering if someone who has been to Wai-O-Tapu (near Tauranga) could advise how long it takes roughly to see everything? Just trying to plan out a day trip where we are hiring a car and driving there and trying to estimate how long we need at the park.
Thanks in advance.

All sympathy to you and your fellow countrymen/women. What a dreadful event. What a curious approach for Celebrity to take. I am sure there are lots of Kiwis on board, and there was no way to prevent the news reaching passengers. A poor show not to offer an expression of sympathy.
Dress code in Carnival MDR?

Thank you. I have seen the dress code - it seems to preclude shorts, but I would like to think it is ok for the casual nights.
