    Brazil visa

We’re interested in applicants here who have successfully navigated the itinerary requirements.

That might be your best bet.

Haha! They want to be sure you have enough money to leave!

    Brazil visa

The process has been somewhat on the frustrating side. They are very strict on the characteristics of the photo. The banking information they require is a little over the top. They want our itinerary from the moment we leave Toronto until we leave Brazil, but there isn’t a way of explaining that we are arriving by sea and departing by air. That has required another chat session which has yet to be resolved. Maybe in a couple of days I will have more helpful information. Hopefully they will soon relax their standards for future visa-seekers I think that people from all of the countries that now need a visa to visit Brazil will be dealing with the same company that has been contracted by the Brazilian government. When we applied for the first visa on their day 1 of implementing the program, they were definitely still working on getting the kinks out.

FYI, today the application and payment for the second visa went much more quickly. They have given no timeline for processing the visa.

We also need our visas for January. We’ve spent about 5 hours on this today for just 1 visa so far. We’re still not done just for that visa.

The website is available as of today. Still a little “buggy”. https://brazil.vfsevisa.com The Brazilian government has contracted a company in India to do this for them we think. We've had to "chat" a few times. The issues aren't resolved at the moment.
  8. No luck here yet. The Brazilian government has contracted a company in India to do this for them we think. We've had to "chat" a few times.

  10. Right. Typo on my part Thanks. 😊
  11. I should also add, that if you have a cruise booked, you can ask for your final payment to be 6 months before the cruise. But this depends on how many cruises you have booked. We have had our final payment extended to 2-3 months before the cruise.
  12. This is how it works: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/viking-cruises-loyalty-program/ But you still have to pay for the hat.
  13. We often take longer cruises and like to be in touch with family while we’re away. Neither of us have the face that is a book and we rely on iMessage where we have a group chat. 1.5 MB is more than enough for us. We download movies and books before we depart. I hope this is a change across Viking’s fleet. I really don’t like being part of a live “broadcast” from the living room or the Explorer’s Lounge where the user has to show the “facee” around the room. We’re part of that room. Possibly this will force the “facer” to take it private; pay for it and take it to your cabin. JMO.
  14. We often run into single people on VO. You would certainly be welcome to dine/socialize with us! Although, we’re usually pyjammied by 9pm and in the gym by 5am — so pretty boring. 😉
  15. We haven’t sailed yet on Viking River. We have sailed numerous times on Viking Ocean and have dined with more than 2 per table once. It was very enjoyable and we would do that again At home we eat early and usually make our dining reservations for VO for 6pm and we have found the dining venues empty at that time. We would be happy to join a “giant table”, but I agree, it would be difficult to leave even if you had an excuse to do so.
  16. Depending on how you much like it because they might run out 😊
  17. In our experience in a PS, our steward would have a bottle of wine delivered to our suite everyday if we wanted it. When it became too much, we would store it in our luggage for our circuitous trip home. Again, in our experience, the first few days we received the wine we liked which wasn't house wine -- usually a Chianti or a Merlot. But towards the end of the cruise, we were receiving an okay house wine, which wasn't worth storing in our luggage to be honest. If you are talking about room service delivering bottles of wine to your suite, we've never done that. But I will say, that if you have the SSBP you can walk down the hall and get some nice glasses of wine from the Explorer's Lounge which is what we often do. If you don't have the SSBP then you can put it on your bill. Yes, you can take a bottle of wine wherever, whether it is something you brought on board, or something your steward left in your room, it is free corkage. Enjoy!
  18. Has anyone successfully used this code?
  19. Seriously, this is not an issue. And BTW, all TAs get irritated with Viking's LA office. 🤣

I'm not sure what the issue is in the USA, but in Canada the Brazilian government has an issue with our reciprocity in visa exemptions. Whereas, my issue is we can't board the ship in San Juan without a visa for Brazil.

Yes, as I've said since this became an issue, that seems to be the consensus of people I've talked to. Fingers crossed!!
  22. I have no idea why your gratuities increased in price, however, I do recall some posters on CC having their Silver Spirits Beverage Package prices increase upon receiving their final invoice -- after having paid for said package at an earlier time. As far as enjoying alcoholic beverages in public spaces, we have enjoyed their beverages and our own beverages in all sorts of public spaces on the ship, so I think that is erroneous information. We have never been charged a corkage fee and until now, I have never heard of that on Viking. If that is the case, we do carry our own corkscrews -- in fact, a couple of them. If you don't like the answers you are getting via chat or telephone, chat or call back until you do. Such are the workings of the LA office. No worries, IMO.
