  1. Does Viking dock at the Kai Tak cruise terminal in Hong Kong?
  2. I think you need to email the above to: tellus@vikingcruises.com Please post your reply on our roll call. So many over there are looking for answers . 😊
  3. Very nice! Can you use it for gratuities? Or treat yourselves to the spa!
  4. We were looking at Vela for 2026, so I know it is doing Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Beyond.
  5. Actually, I like it when they depart a bit early. It gives me a cozy feeling that nobody missed the boat. 😊
  6. Where did you see that it had changed? Was the change posted in the elevator? We’ve experienced early departures several times, but the back on board time didn’t change.

    Brazil visa

@Cruise New York There was a huge visa release this morning and DH has received his.
  8. Have you tried your roll call? There might be people over there that have the same concerns and the same interests.

    Brazil visa

I've had the visa since December 7. DH was approved 13 days ago. He just hasn't received the visa.. HAL sent an email to their world cruise passengers last night and it looks like they might skip Brazil if the Brazilian government doesn't push back the date.

    Brazil visa

As of this morning, DH still hasn't received the email with the visa attachment.
  11. We used the promo for our 2026 cruise. We booked with Viking and didn't have to ask for 6 months final payment -- and we also changed the date by 3 weeks after booking.
  12. We were able to use FV23 on our 2026 cruise. Nice deal!

    Brazil visa

NP. DH still doesn't have his either. Maybe tomorrow. 😊
  14. I remember that Linda. And we were on a Baltic cruise with you and Dave when we missed Bornholm. We were enjoying being on the ship so much, we didn’t care. We felt the same about Madeira. So, I guess there was a squeaky wheel on our TransAtlantic. If it was a multi-day stop, for example, Tokyo on our upcoming cruise, I would feel differently.
  15. We don’t (or maybe Canadians can’t?) buy insurance from Viking. There are travel companies who will refund your premium or roll it over to another cruise. We used to have a relationship with these travel companies years ago, but found their service abysmal and we are now enjoying the service of a more personal TA and a forthright relationship with a travel insurance company. We pay a minimal amount to lock in CFAR within 5 days of the original booking. The balance is due when we pay the final payment to Viking and at that time we can decide whether or not to pay the extra for CFAR. For us, it’s worth a few extra dollars.
  16. And apparently you don't have to be the squeaky wheel. Maybe on our TransAtlantic in March someone else was the squeaky wheel and we got a surprise in our inbox.
  17. So I just went and looked at our sailing prices. Our cruise usually hovers between "sold out" and 1-3 cabins left. There are currently 2 cabins left. The DV2 is slightly less than we paid for a PS and the PV1 substantially more.
  18. Haha. I love your "green bananas" analogy. No, your guess about the raised prices before FIP is inaccurate in our case. Although, on some itineraries, it might be more accurate. Our booking went up in price by about 30% 8 months after booking; 52% 16 months after booking, etc., etc. I'm one of those people who just has to look, whether it's good or bad news. 😉 We purchase adequate insurance, so your analogy doesn't fit here.
