  1. I emailed them on July 15. On July 17 this was their response: Dear Sir / Madam, There is still no official date for starting the issuance of visitor visas for Canadian nationals. Additional information will be posted to the visa section of our website as it becomes available. Cordialmente, / Best regards, If anyone gets a different response, please post it here.
  2. Yes indeed! To me and no doubt many others πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
  3. I’m curious about what Viking will come up with for your trip. Are you doing the pre extension? We booked our own flights some time ago, but I would be interested in your flights; also whether they book you going east or west. When you find out more, I hope you will post here or on our roll call if it gets rolling.
  4. We did the Empires of the Mediterranean as part of our cruise in May/June. You will no doubt love it. Good choice!
  5. @JollyJacqTar yes, a private message option on CC would be useful. Thank you for thinking to share your notes with me. With help from people like you, we are getting very excited about this trip.
  6. Thanks so much. I always have trouble finding reliable and accurate port information.
  7. That's interesting. I took a look at our documents and the port is not stated. I will have to do more research. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. I've copied this to my notes. It's very helpful. Thanks.
  9. Thanks so much. I would like to see it, but I am reluctant to post my emailπŸ™‚ If you are willing to scan and post it, that would be helpful. Thanks for offering it to me.
  10. DH and i went through this. It is so helpful, we can't thank you enough.
  11. Thanks Andy. Very characteristically generous of you. Email sent.
  12. πŸ™‚The dangerous bit would be losing me in any market, especially one for ladies. πŸ˜‰
  13. Some of us Canadians do like a few of our British traditions. Fancy a cuppa? πŸ˜‰
  14. $190 CAD at the Empress; $120 CAD at the Peninsula; FREE at the Wintergarden. πŸ™‚ But given the reviews, it looks like a nice place to visit.
  15. This "exciting" tendering experience happened to us in Monaco in May. We were on the first tender out. Things like this never bother DH, but I decided I won't take the first tender out again. I'll be watching to see how things go with the early ones. πŸ˜‰
  16. Personally, I wouldn't want to fly nonstop from Heathrow to San Juan. I would want to make it more interesting with a stop in Madrid for a day or two. It would add something to an already very nice holiday.πŸ™‚
  17. DH says this sounds dangerous πŸ˜‚
  18. Is that like the Empress in Victoria? πŸ™‚
  19. Thanks. We are also interested in Repulse Bay. We would love to see the dragon. Isn't that good luck?
  20. Thanks very much. This looks like an excellent thing to do. We would probably take a cab from our hotel, unless anyone knows of a way to get there by water? And we will certainly do the Star Ferry.
  21. There is a lot of walking, but more standing around. We had a great guide which made all the difference. We would definitely recommend this tour. But, as has been pointed out on this forum numerous times, the guide can make or break a tour and our guide made the tour really interesting.
  22. HI Kathleen. Yes, we remember you and Chris. I think we were the only four people who showed up for our meet and greet. πŸ™‚ Since we last saw you, we did a port intensive back to back Med cruise and enjoyed it thoroughly. Your cruise sounds really great. Our next cruise is in January -- Caribbean Amazon. We are very much looking forward to it.
  23. We are going on the Far East and Alaska cruise next year with Viking. Neither of us has been to Hong Kong and are researching what we want to do. I have posted on our roll call but it is very, very slow. I have researched CC Ports and CC reviews, and I have also followed other roll calls. It's been very difficult to find interesting info on Hong Kong. We will be there for 3 nights, 2 days on our own staying at Kowloon Shangra-La, before joining Viking Orion for another 2 days in Hong Kong. Viking's included tour: Postcards of Hong Kong looks very appealing and we will probably do that on our last day in Hong Kong. Tours that we've been researching are: Chi Lin Nunnery Possibly a flower garden Ngong Ping Skyrail Po Lin Monastery Tai O fishing village Hollywood Road Hong Kong Escalator Star Ferry nighttime cruise Lamma Island We want to avoid wet markets. Anyone who has been to Hong Kong, or anyone who is researching Hong Kong, could you add any info to the above tours; let us know of any "not to be missed" tours; and chime in as to whether it might be a good idea to hire a guide for a couple of days. Thanks very much for any input.
