  1. They used to do one years ago where you were whisked through several of the ships public areas, but I haven’t seen one done in 10 years or so.
  2. There is also a retractable line in the shower for hanging clothes.
  3. I can’t answer your laundry question as we get free laundry for being Elite. Leaving clothes out to dry on the balcony is a no no with Princess, due to potential fires from careless and prohibited smoking on balconies. They have had one major fire, at least, a few years ago that destroyed several balconies etc and banned drying clothes there ever since.
  4. Correct, I just created a separate log-in to the MedallionClass app on my phone as my wife is not particularly tech savvy. I logged out of my account, created a separate one for her, linked the 2 accounts with our booking number. Now we can each order our own drinks and the server can find either of us from the medallion.
  5. Thanks- we’ve booked an ‘obstructed balcony’ stateroom on deck 8 emerald deck. We recently stayed in cabin E420, which Princess calls an obstructed balcony. It is slightly angled making it a little bigger than the regular balconies. It is not really obstructed, as there is a very large gap between the lifeboats on each side, so you can see everything in front of you, but your sight line is slightly reduced when looking right or left because of the lifeboats.
  6. So, apart from all these issues, which are regrettable and not entirely due to anything that Princess has control over, this has nothing to do with Crown Princess propulsion issues. I have been following this ships “limping” issues on www.CruiseMapper.com and Crown Princess has been maintaining speeds of between 18, 19, 20 knots in open water, which is on par to what all other major cruise vessels in this area are doing.
  7. On the other hand the server might not know the Pacific from the Atlantic - just a thought. 🤷‍♂️
  8. No, not until September. On my last cruise on Majestic Princess in May, our cabin steward didn’t seem too keen on performing the nightly turn down service, so we didn’t push it. This might have been to limited staffing levels, with less stewards cleaning more cabins.
  9. I’m really enjoying following along with your cruise. Can you tell me where to find this setting on the app. I’ve been through mine pretty thoroughly but can’t find it anywhere. Maybe just on some ships depending on staffing levels.
  10. I think the difference seems to be that you can book Speciality Dining via the Medallion app if it was part of a Princess promotion. I just did it with no charge to my credit card. If it was a gift from your TA, then your credit card will probably be charged. I have lots of onboard credit also from my TA but this does not show as credit on the Princess web site until boarding and I cannot pre-book ship’s tours without it being charged to my CC.
  11. I’m pretty sure it’s 2 days before boarding as per the Princess web site - not 48 hours.
  12. I originally booked a 10 night Pacific Coastal in Sept 2022 from Vancouver back to Vancouver.Lots of sea days. I booked the “no frills” deal as my wife doesn’t drink anything but tea and coffee. Shortly after booking, Princess came out with a smoking deal for the Princess Plus package. It just meant moving up our balcony cabin from mid-ship Caribe to mid-aft Baja. The bottom line extra cost for the 2 of us was $406 US, so I jumped at the deal. Gratuities and Internet alone are more than that, so I think I’m ahead of the game with the drinks.
  13. My wife and I try to get a table for 2 whenever possible. When trying to make Dine My Way dinner reservations the Da Vinci dining room mid-ship deck 6 was only available for shared tables at that time. We booked a table for 2 in the Botticelli Dining. I then read on CC about the vibration issues in that aft dining room. Since then, my brother and his wife have decided to book this cruise, so we have now reserved a table for 4 back in the Da Vinci Dining Room.
  14. Yes, I’ve been following the Crown Princess on CruiseMapper.com and very happy to see she is no longer “limping” along - maintaining 20 knots quite regularly in open water. Now, if they could only fix the aft vibration issues in time for our Sept 22nd 10 night Pacific Coastal cruise.
  15. Cruise ships do have a bad rap going back to the Diamond Princess in Yokohama and Ruby Princess in Sydney in 2020. I know these weren’t the only cruise ships with serious Covid cases but the bad media coverage singled out all cruise ships at the time, resulting in the shut down of the cruise industry. Many efforts have been made by the cruise operators to create many additions & solutions to mitigate cases, and these together with vaccination mandates have all helped to reduce serious cases, but whether on land, sea or air, cases will continue, until hopefully the virus will completely disappear.
  16. They provide them up at the pool deck at night when watching Movies Under The Stars.
  17. Blankets provided by Princess. Everything else provided by wife. 😂
  18. Here is a photo of my wife all "wrapped" up in the Sanctuary in Glacier Bay, but I don't want to discourage you. The Sanctuary is a wonderful place with comfortable seating, great views and serenity stewards to cater to your every need. The weather in Alaska can be so unpredictable!
