There are changes coming, what there are is certainly up for speculation. You raise a legitimate option (and possibly the easiest to implement. What makes one question all this is that they have had an eternity to modify the plan and as to date, have not. I would venture a guess that the reason is that is so is two fold. The first is building, testing and impl,ementing the system tht controls the new plan. Having come from a technology past I can tell you thinga like this take time, precious, expensive time. The second is selling ot to their faithful (a some less faithful posting on this very thread). Just MHO.

I have seen it done with cheers and bubbles programs literally hundreds of times. You will not have a problem.

The dilemma you describe has been on growing, the increase in the level of repeat cruisers does have consequences, They say they are working the problem (the only way is the raise the bar), we shall see.

It is always interesting to read others views on topics. Sometimes they bring facts either not considers to the table or new or different views on the subject matter. I would agree that Carnival stayed out of the monstrosity of the seas, or the Epic mistake or what ever. Most cruise lines are public companies and work for their stockholders (equity and hopefully profitable earnings). Of course, the notable exception is MSC. How and why the Carnival Corp decides to play on the behemoth race (among their many lines) is in fact an interesting decision. As it has been stated, there are drawbacks to this huge class of ships (port capabilities, no tender capability, the remoteness to the sea, etc). In the case of Carnival (the corp) they have variables that the smaller, sometimes leaner companies simply do not have. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/corporate-information/our-brands Some may think their decision on whether to play or when to enter into the “fray” of the super builds is a detriment, some think it is wisdom. I look at wonder and icon and shake my head (not so much in wonder but of what cruising has become, one totally over the top ugly behemoth after another), and even cringe a little at Carnival having to finally get into the market. All that said, their (the corp, and the brand) reluctance to do so, maybe the best thing this mgt team ever did.

If the debate of “better” is offering the most to do, then I guess monstrosity (you determine the flavor of the week namesake) will always win. Your level and meaning of experience, is just that yours. Stating it as fact….well not in my view. It has been said many times, bigger (Oasis, Wonder, Icon, et al.), simply are not better to me. Not even close. Not for the robbery they are charging to sail a boring cruise on Icon or free on Oasis….JMHO, butt I will not state it as fact…

You summed it up pretty well. I did not go into detail, and frankly did not know that the ship missed a refurb, but I thought she was in really good shape. Nice pics.

Conclusion..... I probably lost most of you along the way once we got off the ship (rightly so). I will summarize and move on the next adventure in this journey we called life. We spent the avast majority of our cruising life cruising Carnival (55 plus cruises). We will not leave them, not really material to our cruise or my review. But I do not think I can leave without giving some comparisons between the two lines (you all know they are different, but .....). Celebrity is surely more upscale in the experience and the price. From the quantity of room servicing (twice daily vs once a day) to the detail in dining. That said, and I have said this many times, all cruise lines have WAY more in common than differences. We were pleasantly surprised (not shocked) with the level or service we got on the Eclipse. It certainly over achieved. Will we sail this line again? Absolutely. Will we continue to sail on Carnival? Absolutely. For us, this type of journey, this type of cruise, is a perfect fit for doing a X cruise, your opinion may vary.
