  1. good questions, but what ever the deal is, it is between CCL and the casino sub(s). The sub pays the contracted rate to CCL and subsidizes the rest. The rate that the person pays (whatever it is) has nothing to do with VFIP (other than it would count towards it, meaning it is not a VFIP discount.
  2. All industries lobby, that is the way it currently works. Others do it WAY more. As example, the airlines (same industry) lobbied to the tune if 17+ million in the first half of 2023, and they got bailed out by the feds for covid and were not shut down. I guess it all on how you look at the numbers and from what viewpoint....😎
  3. Listing out the various scenarios would just confuse people more. If people book on their own, they take on that responsibility. If they use a PVP or TA, then the knowledge is not needed. You removed the lack of by using someone who KNOWS.
  4. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
  5. The ones right at the pier are rocky. As I said look GREAT. That said stroll down the beach to Jacks shack. This island reeks of history also...
  6. Bonaire is a very different interesting port as well. Last time there we rented golf carts and toured the island...great time.
  7. Half Moon Cay, one of Carnival Corps sister companies Holland America Line (HAL) owns it. Tender only port (for now), possibly building a pier.... google it for pics.
  8. Well.....if you have never been, there are plenty of nice things to do there. Been there a TON (only outdone by Cozumel, been there 16 times on a cruise ship). Great sail in a sail out also, and there would most def be a lot of other ships there (might be a plus or minus). If it were me and you picked this itin, I would get off.
  9. well.....the beaches look great on GT (in the dock area) but pretty rocky. You have to go further to get to them in Aruba, and there will always be a breeze, but from a beach perspective (and going into the water) better. For future reference HMC has the best beach we have been to on a cruise, and while slightly off topic, the best beaches we have ever Benn to in the Caribbean (not on a cruise) is Anguilla (tuck that away for future reference.).
  10. I think Aruba has better beaches than Nassau (which would be on the absolute bottom of my list, for many reasons).
  11. Why are you excited about GT? For me ABC is a clear cut winner.
  12. Does not make any difference what the reason is, what matters is what IT is. The rest is smoke and mirrors.
  13. It matters not where someone asks or who answers. The point was is that the different types of combinations for travel, both domestic and international make it confusing to casual travelers. Of course people can ask here. People ask tons of things and get tons of answers. all of the types of ID's and how they can/should be used and implementation schedules and delays of deadline make it worse. Backlogs for renewals make it worse. Pick a direction, keep it simple, an implementation, a deadline, a PLAN and stick to it. How could people not be confused.
  14. It sure is. That said, if it i a once and done experience, I would be reticent at recommending a DIY mentality. Just not the same level of experience for most cruisers.
  15. All good ideas. They are all fairly unique and offer a great vacation opportunity. It used to be in Carnival, that they only way you cruised in them in Europe, it was when a new ship came out. Now, there a re great chances to experience lots of different European cruise vacations. As someone who has done a few, I HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you have never been there. Cruising Europe gives you the opportunity to get a “flavor” of different things, from the Med, to northern Europe, Scandinavian Countries, GB, Iceland and more.
  16. Kudos to the Carnival team for delivering in a pinch again.
  17. It was a general statement on cruisers who cruise RCCL and thoughts on icon. You can google it. I never said it was not popular. They are demanding huge prices to sail on it, and people are paying. WAY more than I have ever seen before, but at 2 BILLION it takes a bunch to pay that bill. I cruise other lines, and RCCL is on that list. As I said, I think it is NOT attractive at all, WAY to many people and looks like a joke that one might see a manufactured picture on her today (April 1). I may be wrong, will not be the first time. Enjoy your cruises.
  18. There are threads about this, you can review them.
  19. I can try. See post 2 on states where they are using EDL. Yours is one of those. All of the other states have not. If someone lives in those and crosses borders they have to use passport. They may come here and see (example) you can use your DL to cross. They might be further confused because their state is going to Real ID for domestic travel, which WILL be needed for domestic air travel at some point but has seen delay after delay after delay. Then they could be even further confused because when the realize all this and they cruise a lot, they decide to get/renew their passport (what we all will need at some point to do) and they get even more confused by which type to get (card or book). Finally they get even MORE confused because they see all the delay in processing renewals and new passports. Hopefully this all makes sense.
  20. I get and understand the differences and the logic and rationale for all. They do have purpose. From the outside looking in (most travelers), something happens need wise which causes them to need to look at what their options are. Lots of input from many sources (including here), and it looks confusing. My original comment was really that and delays in enactment on multiple fronts, posts on delays for passports etc and it looks like a maze. When they are in a border state, it add more confusion and can get furth complicated if that border state is not active,,,,
  21. Actually typing but on an iPhone in a parking lot waiting on wife shopping and interspersing phone calls. Hopefully point got delivered
