  1. They've had cookies at the last couple of ones that I've gone to (at times when it was reported that cookies weren't available onboard anymore). Sr. crew has attended, getting a printed list of officers seems to be hit or miss.
  2. Best answer. I think it depends on the type and source of the FCC. In the past, you could sell some FCC with a specified $$ value but not if it's a % for example.
  3. Been reminding NCL for years that letting people see everything would be so much more effective - and all they've done so far is stop listing the post-cruise excursions to the airport on day 50. They said that was for their convenience.
  4. Absolutely correct wording with respect to CN "double up" although I can't speak to whether or not it is enforced. AFAIK, you can always use 1 CN, doubleUp has different rules.
  5. There was a 9pm show the first night - I'm guessing it was probably a short contract, possibly leaving at the next port. Then there was a comedy/juggling show on day 5, also just 1 performance. He could have easily been a local, as it was an overnight port stop. I didn't go, so can't comment.
  6. That question was addressed at a staff q&a on one cruise I was on. European cruises tend to have a fair number of passengers where English is not their first language. So between language issues and context, comedians do not fare well on those cruises. Note, I just came back from a Norway/Iceland cruise on the Star - there was a comedian onboard.
  7. We stayed at Bear Lodge. But that was many years ago.
  8. I have to laugh - off topic but they often talk about "free chair day" in the town near where I live. That would be the day prior to the Strawberry Festival parade. People bring their lawn chairs, line them along the main highway, intending to find them available for watching the parade the following day. They often use a rope to designate family groupings. Not sure how many chairs actually disappear... Maybe sweeten the pot by adding that if your stuff is collected, you've only got so much time to collect it - then it goes to the highest bidder at the end of the day. A new NCL activity!
  9. I believe it was 1 report (regarding NCL anyway) and it involved a very last-minute booking (ship had previously been listed as sold out), that passenger did not stick around to see if there were any last minute cancellations which would have resolved the issue. According to that same report, there was also another family - I've never seen any follow-up so guessing they found a cabin for them.
  10. I did this several years ago - there was no modification to my original reservation, other than adding taxes, etc. It was not treated as a fresh booking, more like a name change - from nobody to the person I was adding.
  11. When I changed status, they applied the new discount and I automatically got refunds for the excursions I'd already booked for my next cruise. Check your credit card statement.
  12. Well, since you are in an inside, nobody is bidding on that for an upgrade so kind of a moot point on your cabin assignment. If you are asking about how the bidding process is done, nobody really knows but I would assume that anyone in gty status will get their cabins assigned first, since they have paid for that category. Bid upgrades (if any) would be assigned leftovers - which could be anything from best to worst - depending on why they are available prior to the cruise.
  13. Doing the opposite (AK to Hawaii) this October. I can let you know when I get back LOL.
  14. Same here. Maybe we could add table hogs in the buffet to the discussion to make it more relevant to more of us LOL!
  15. The shore excursion credit is applied immediately if you book (and pay) for the excursion in advance. And it is per excursion for passenger #1, not limited to 1/port. If you book onboard, the credit is applied after you take the excursion.
  16. I think I can answer some of your questions - but not the dining issues. I am assuming the $100 credit you are speaking of is from a TA - and it is On Board Credit - meaning you can't use it before you board the ship. The $50 excursion credit is for guest #1 on the reservation. And it is automatically applied during the booking process. So it sounds as if your friend got her $50 credit applied correctly, her husband does not get a discount, unless they paid for the plus package.
  17. If you're going to POP, Space Needle, Aquarium, Chihuly and more, look into getting a C3 or City Pass. They are good for 9 days, so can be used before and after a 7-day cruise from Seattle. Sometimes the passes are available at a discount through Groupon.
  18. Yes, if you make a change after someone is in the process of quoting you, the original post is included. Now my question is why you posted in the first place. CN DoubleUp for any cabin, balcony or above, is pretty much the standard - not exactly newsworthy. Been the standard for CNs for a couple of years. And yes, the CF/CN promotions do tend to alternate on similar schedules. Either CN DoubleUp for any cabin and $125/$250 CF offers - or - CN DoubleUp balcony/above and $250/$500 CF offers.
  19. Well, it's still July 6 in the US and your profile says USA LOL... But you or you PCC are mixing terminology and terms between certificates. The "DoubleUp" offer applies to CN, not CF. And changes as to the # of certificates that can be applied, based on the cabin category. But the "double" offer to purchase Cruise First ($250 for $500) is currently in effect. A single CF can always be applied to any cabin AFAIK. Which is why I have a couple of the $500 certificates in my account, since I usually book OV.
  20. I can't speak to advance reservations but I'm pretty sure when I was onboard I was only allowed to make 1 reservation for any particular show - they want to make it available to as many people as possible.
  21. Yea, I kinda figured they were the same. I suspect any "double-up" with CF went away when they introduced the "double value" certificates. They are pretty strict about how much of a discount they will give you, capped at $250 regardless of what certificates you use. Except for the somewhat rare "triple up" for CN. I was just trying to figure out how a TA who claims to be "a responible Travel Agent who says she is "well educated in NCL policy and have my Masters Degree thru NCLU" can't distinguish between the requirement to purchase 120 days in advance vs her assertion that the booking must be 120 days in advance.
  22. Maybe the rules are different in Canada. There is a TA from Canada on another site that continues to post that in order to use a CF you have to book 120 days prior to the cruise - which isn't what the US rules say. But I've never seen a CF doubleUp offer.
  23. That's because there is no such thing as double up for cruise first. Instead, they change the pricing - sometimes you can buy $500 certificates.
  24. You should be fine. Make sure that they do note the passport when she checks in. I was one of the last to check in on a cruise (a hiccup in that the fun COVID testing process LOL) and while they were trying to expedite the process they neglected to verify my passport or something along those lines. So at the end of the cruise I got a letter saying I had to do something special with respect to immigration before I could disembark. Fortunately it was an easy fix - but it could be an issue if she is going into Canada on an excursion and they don't think she has a passport. Enjoy your trip!
