  1. Don't count on it. HDMI ports are usually disabled and I believe you would also need to bring a universal remote to change input, if not disabled.
  2. The question would be whether or not the excursion people report back to the ship and give them the ticket stubs. Otherwise NCL has no idea if you actually took the excursion or not. And I highly doubt they actually go through the tickets - or check the records to see if you actually got off of the ship. They really don't care, you paid (or not in the case of a $50 excursion).
  3. Better option would be to inform the passenger that they will be in isolation until proven they are not contagious. Or they can go home, maybe some FCC, although I don't necessarily think it's the cruise line's responsibility to refund - that's why you should be getting travel insurance. Leave it up to the medical staff to determine the source of the fever.
  4. Exactly. I used mine to upgrade to unlimited wifi on my last cruise. I can usually manage with the FAS but I must say I enjoyed not having to worry about logging out!
  5. But the do have time to medicate so they can still go on their excursions, dinners, shows etc. They paid $$$ for the cruise, more $$ for that excursion. Not their problem if they pass their illness to everyone else.
  6. Ship has been cleared, new passengers can start boarding Tuesday, all aboard 5pm I think. Which is about 17 hours from now if my calculations are correct. So onboard passengers will probably start disembarking in the next 8-10 hours.
  7. Also went on the Bliss in mid May of 2022, could have been the same cruise. I don't remember getting any notice but I do remember waiting outside of the terminal for hours because they were scrubbing down the ship due to noro on the previous cruise, so delayed boarding. Pretty sure they had "noro" protocols in place, at least at the beginning - no condiments on the tables, servers in the buffet, staff cleaning the handrails etc. Not the first time I've been on a ship under those conditions, fortunately I've not gotten sick onboard.
  8. Um, you were responding to a discussion regarding the people currently on the ship, which is why your post about getting a refund sounds absurd. They are getting onboard credit, they are getting assistance with flight arrangements, $300 towards airfare change fees if they don't have insurance. And a 15% discount on a future cruise. That's in addition to an extended cruise. This information comes from the letter sent to the passengers. Not speculation. As to those who haven't boarded yet, as of now they will get a prorated refund so only paying for the days they actually cruise, hotel accommodations until they do board, onboard credit, 20% discount on a future cruise. This information comes from the letter sent to the passengers. Not speculation.
  9. Pretty sure if you cancel an excursion you booked onboard it's just taken off of your bill, no refund.
  10. Correct. It depends on the ship. And on some ships you can access your account information, make reservations, etc. Not so much on others.
  11. And you actually believe everything you read LOL. Even the original "news" article that reported Cholera has retracted that statement. There are no reports at this time of positive tests for cholera. Yes, people have a stomach virus that could be cholera, but could just as easily be norovirus. Sorry you had a bad experience.
  12. Note my comment re: jumping the gun with my original post of the article link. USA Today did originally did post it as Cholera... original article title was "Norwegian Dawn quarantined off Mauritius coast with cholera cases" - which they modified an hour or so later.
  13. Current double up offer - any cabin - through 2/29. Will probably revert back to the usually offered double-up for balcony or above after that, if they don't extend the current offer.
  14. Copied from another site. Day 14 on a 12-day cruise. Some people are taking it in stride.
  15. Yes, just found it Norwegian Dawn quarantined off Mauritius coast with cholera cases (usatoday.com) Either a case of terrible reporting OR they know more than the people onboard are being told. It supposedly takes a couple of days to get the results back, so I'm thinking USA Today might have jumped the gun.
  16. Uh, ok. Nothing new, that's been the policy for quite some time. The only inconsistency is that CN purchases slip through on some ships, depends on the onboard software.
  17. As reported on another site, it seems the ship has been quarantined because of norovirus, not able to dock as scheduled. They were due to dock on Sunday, now pushed back until Tuesday. NCL is apparently sending passengers who were scheduled to embark on Sunday to hotels.
  18. Since cabin #s aren't on the card, how are they going to check? It's usually a crew member checking, prior to swiping your card, not the security guys.
  19. Or use the search function. IMHO, advising a "newbie" that there is such a feature is way more helpful than repeating opinions... But then I taught computer science at one point and always went by the "teach a man to fish...." philosophy.
  20. Correct, although it may be a little later than 4:30 on some days, depending on the itinerary. And when they would take care of it would also depend on the # of other cabins that have similar requests.
  21. Here's a suggestion for you. Take advantage of the search function on CC - to save yourself from getting blasted for asking a question that's controversial and/or been beat to death on this forum. The little box at the top right of the page that says Search. Put in something like tipping or DSC and you'll have enough reading material for at least a week.
  22. There is a difference between the excursions and transfers. Excursions often sell out, as they are limited for a number of reasons, like capacity at the sites they are visiting, availability of busses and tour guides. With the Jewel arriving in Seward from Tokyo, there will also be passengers coming to Seward for the trip to Vancouver - so the transfer busses can be doing a RT. AFAIK, transfers to the airport are still available to purchase.
  23. Beware that certificates don't get refunded if you aren't due a full refund. If you are due a refund, it may come back in the form of a CN or it might be credited to your CC.
  24. Probably this. Remember that they have to consider weather later when passengers need to get back to the ship. What's the weather forecast for the rest of the day?
  25. Good catch. Makes no sense since you are paying for it but it's NCL...
