  1. Double up is currently only applicable to cruises out 4 months or more.
  2. For soft drinks? News to me - but then I don't usually go into the arcades.
  3. While I like the idea, the shops are leased, not owned by NCL. So they wouldn't want the competition. Now if they could put in vending machines and reap the profits there...
  4. I just realized that I'm still able to see other excursions for Juneau, even though they should be blocked. Very strange, guess I'll give NCL a call when I get a chance.
  5. Aug 28th - it may be sold out. Or blocked if you've booked something else in Juneau that conflicts. But they have changed the description, indicating that we board from the ship - but the "need to know" stuff - as in "return at the entry to the Endicott Arm" still not meshing with the port times, etc. Ship will still be docked at 6pm for starters.
  6. What you are describing is what I had booked last year while on the Bilss, then got cancelled at the last minute. I have it booked for the Jewel SB trip but the itinerary doesn't fit the logistics. But thanks for trying. I am hoping that we transfer from the ship to the small boat and meet back up in Juneau.
  7. No overlap, Juneau is 2 pm, glacier 6 to 10. As I said previously, website does not reflect the port times I've been given. Still looking for info on where/when the excursion starts.
  8. I started to have problems with Edge awhile back- I couldn't get to the NCL booking page, although I hadn't had problems in the past. Cleared the cache and it seems to work now.
  9. Yes, I have been there multiple times. The last time I tried to take the same excursion, we were to start in Juneau, then transfer to the ship in open sea. However, the ship won't be in Juneau prior to Endicott Arm so how does the excursion (which still lists a 1:30 departure time) work? RT to Juneau? Transfer to the excursion boat from the ship and meet back in Juneau? It gets cancelled?
  10. I believe the itinerary is new, with just the Jade with NCL so not surprising. I took the Capetown RT itinerary in December and it was amazing but different than many other cruises, which is probably why the love it or hate it opinions. I went for the itinerary and the wildlife - and was not disappointed! I think many of the wildlife excursions did sell out, so not everyone was able to go, and of course it's the luck of the draw on what you see. We missed seeing a large pride of lions with a fresh kill by just minutes. We knew where they were but they were well hidden. The ports, excluding Capetown, tend to be industrial ports which isn't an ideal situation, but I had excursions booked in all the ports so not an issue for me. I'm looking to go back, but to one of the east or west coast trips - but that's partially because I'm always looking for new places to visit so don't need a repeat.
  11. If you mean the tour that departs from Juneau and then you get back on the ship in the open sea, that's the one I'm talking about. However, I'm also taking a SB Jewel and even though the web still shows Juneau in the morning, the port time, for mine anyway, has been changed to afternoon, Dawes Glacier before. So you might want to verify the times on yours. The corrected time is showing on my most recent confirmation.
  12. Still showing for my August trip on the Jewel. And still offering the "TRACY ARM FJORD & GLACIER EXPLORER" as an available option, which I'm a little skeptical about, since the Endicott/Glacier is listed before Juneau. In the past, you boarded the ship for the excursion in Juneau, then got back onboard in open waters. Hopefully it's still a go - a similar excursion (with the correct name) I'd booked last May got cancelled by the vendor at the last minute- and we couldn't get near the glacier on the ship either because of ice, so trying again in August.
  13. I have never had an issue with excursion staff, at least with respect to telling me is something is sold out. But they aren't necessarily privy to additional information about port changes, etc. And I usually call on the weekend. But too late now, they are closed.
  14. It's Lisbon to Lisbon, so my answer is technically correct albeit a little confusing.
  15. Here's a thought - call NCL excursions. They might not be able to tell you if ports have been cancelled but they certainly can tell you if everything is sold out.
  16. Uhm, they do? However, the bag option isn't available until a few days into the cruise.
  17. I believe all your stuff is put in a bag, multiple bags would be washed together. They put tags on everything but socks/underwear.
  18. They do NOT hold back excursions for onboard sales - there is no reason to do so, as excursions must be prepaid. Holding back would be counterproductive as it could drive people to private excursions. There is no penalty for booking in advance, so people do cancel excursions and space may become available at anytime.
  19. You can only view excursions available for a specific cruise if you are logged into your account and viewing your reservation.
  20. Just curious, what would be the cost of a sailaway inside cabin have been for the new person, other person becomes a no show at check-in in?
  21. One thing that I've noticed is the disconnect between departments. For future reference, Guest Services (Katy Byrd) would be where I would have gone. From my experience, not everyone has the ability to override system glitches or make policy decisions, which is understandable. Essentially, my department, my rules, end of discussion. While I can only speculate just how far up the chain of command this went initially, I have an idea. And yes, Guest Services does have the authority, I have personally seen it in action.
  22. I agree, definitely not cheap at $250 and up - but a 12hr excursion is also more of an exception than a rule. It also helps to have latitude status, a 10 or 15% discount (which applies to anyone with status, not just 1 person). And when I went last July, there were local excursions (Warnemunde) at less than $100. For Berlin, you take a charter train from the ship, then meet your tour guide when you get there, if they weren't on the train. Not sure you could get a private excursion for that price, considering the 6hr round trip. And the risk of not making it back to the ship. And FWIW, the excursions in the other ports on my Baltic itinerary were super cheap, the majority were under $100, relatively few over $149.
  23. 3 free excursions, 3 different ports in Alaska.
  24. Unless I missed a slot, according to cruisemapper, the Star is fully scheduled until at least October, 2025.
