  1. The new Princess improvements in customer service. 😶
  2. Mine always loved the kids' clubs. We had to drag them out.
  3. They seem to be more prevalent in some areas. Out here in the hinterlands we’re lucky if there is one per town. A friend’s daughter works in headquarters and they are branching out to other states. She gets to go train new staff in new locations. Funny thing but she is a vegetarian.
  4. Thanks! I’ll remember that next time I’m in san pedro I am boring. I like the regular cheeseburger. And root beer.
  5. Point taken. But even on a formal night there is no requirement to go to the MDR. The buffet, speciality dining, room service, all can be enjoyed without a tux. Cruisers who object to dressing up can still enjoy a cruise.
  6. You have a point. A UK cruiser might not have room for his fancy dress outfit if he’s going as a Viking with that huge shield and a helmet with those fake horns.
  7. Funny. I am about to go for Paris visit number ten and I learn something new from Les Frenchies on every new video. I will recommend the videos too.
  8. I'm a frequent flyer (floater?) from San Pedro, but I don't know the closest In-N-Out to the port. They are the best hamburgers but the restaurants are not thick on the ground, unfortunately.
  9. That kind of misses the point, for me. The MDR doesn't feel "pub" like the old Wheelhouse Bar did.
  10. Thanks for the review. I tried Sur La Mer and thought it was gimmicky and weird, not a true seafood restaurant. I am hoping to try Catch on the Sky, and I'm hoping that halibut is tasty.
  11. Jan Swartz to the rescue is an overrated myth. She is gone. I know she still has a higher-up job in the corporation, but she's no longer the President of Princess. I also know that a few people have gotten her attention, but those have been few and far between. We are on our own out here. The new Princess.
  12. Thanks for the review. There has been a bit of grumbling about the Emerald here on this board, but you show that every person's cruise is different.
  13. I'm doing Alaska number six in July on the Royal. It was the only itinerary that worked. My other Princess Alaska cruises were Grand class, except for years ago on the Regal I and then Pacific Princess II. The smaller ships both got us into ports like Kodiak and Sitka. This one is a grandkids cruise, so the ports aren't as important to me. These kids have done the usual ports several times before, and that's what they like. This will also be the end of the FCC, so...
  14. As they say, to each his own.
  15. Different countries, different idioms.
  16. They always take a new photo of me on the ship as I board. Why? Who knows.
  17. My thought is that whatever you get in the restaurant will better than what’s in the MDR anyway.
  18. I’m wondering how to actually eat that without ending up covered in goo.
  19. DMW meets the Medallion app
  20. What is "fancy dress" in the UK is "masquerade" in the US.
  21. The Royal class ships have the deluxe balconies. OP is considering Discovery which is a Royal class ship.
  22. Just going by what I’m told. I’m not a sports fan.
  23. DH misses his sports when we are cruising. Princess is not good at providing coverage.
