I love how some make up rules or policies and think  if they state them with "authority" that it makes it reasonable.

Unfortunately, I would break out laughing if I heard this .Then, I would probably answer with,    "you are hilarious, wrong but, hilarious."

I just went back to FB to see if I could find it, but it must have been taken down. There were a lot of comments yesterday. Mine was "Interlopers."  😃

Some of the Grand Deluxe Suites have a walk-in closet and some do not. I haven't made a list of which do and which don't (I probably should have started when Seashore launched). I know that some are wider than others but that doesn't correlate as to whether there is a walk-in or not.

    19009 does have

    19013 does have

    19014 does have

    19015 does have

    19025 does have

    19028 does have

    19032 does have

If anyone has any more info, please share. I can work on making a list with links/photos/videos for Seashore/Seascape.

We'll be on Seascape for the first time in September in 19003. I hope we have one!! I've been on a couple of non-MSC websites that say we do, but not sure how accurate they are.

Your offer cannot possibly be as bad as the one we got.

We received our offer to bid at the end of May for our cruise next month.

Currently Seascape, yacht club grand (YCP)

Offer to bid for Royal suite...min bid $2500.pp

    Owners suite...minimum bid $5800.pp

    Quite a joke.

We have successfully bid for upgrades on Princess 3 times for reasonable amounts.

Our minimum bid for Royal is $2460pp

    Owners is $5925pp

I've successfully bid a couple of time with Royal Caribbean and thought they were reasonable amounts.

My husband has loved the suites we've had in the past with Celebrity where we had a separate bedroom and was interested in possibly upgrading. Not for those prices though.

There's no way we're not going to enjoy the Grand we already have booked.

  4. Just received an email about bidding to upgrade to either a Royal or Owner's suite for the first week of our B2B on Seascape in September. We're currently booked in a Grand (the one with the walk-in closet) for both weeks. If I'm doing the math, this offer is a joke. If I were to book the RS today on the MSC website, it's about the same as the lowest upgrade bid.

Will that be it for the offer, or if it doesn't sell, do they continue to lower the bidding price and send out another email?

Oh, hey... I'm on that FB post too and also got ripped.  I'm 100% on your side.  Why put someone in a position of being uncomfortable KNOWING that's they are pushing the issue.  (In this case it was a woman who wanted her Mom and Aunt to join her.  My answer is either upgrade your Mom & Aunt you cheap *** or join them in the rest of the ship. She was the one wanting to be a show off!)

I also saw the post and agree 100%!

So is there a difference when someone books a steeply reduced in price YC room for the same cruise that other YC cruisers paid full price? Are they also taking something away from the YC experience, having paid less for the same meals, concierge, etc? Would you treat them differently if you knew they were, essentially, “Walmart Yacht Club” cruisers?

    Just curious.

Of course not. They paid for their "spot".  It doesn't matter what they paid. If they got a great deal with an upgrade bid, good on them.

The way to stop it is close the entry doors behind you, I have said to a couple sorry I don’t recognise you from YC (day 5 of 14) so unless I see your card I will not let you enter with me . Simple if they don’t like it get their own card out and use, if we pay for the privileges they shouldn’t object.

Morpheus has pointed out that they're entering thru an outside staircase that's open from deck 19 right up and into the One Pool area.

On this cruise the pool attendant was so intimidated by the YC guests that invited their friends and family into the YC for the Seafood Extravaganza he allowed them all to finish their meals before asking them to leave so paying YC guests, still waiting, had a place to sit.

    Where was the YC Director?

@jules815 there has been much discussion on that in the HAL forums.  It looks like they tried to make that the drinks were not part of the HIA package and have now gone back to them being included.  However there is much confusion as website gives conflicting information it seems.

Thanks for that info. I'm not sure if we'll even want to have our pre-dinner drinks in the Neptune Lounge, but it seemed silly it wouldn't be included.

Here is another lesson we learned on our Spring Break cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam. Do Not believe what you are told on board. We booked the top Pinnacle Suite to compare with MSC Royal/ Owners Suite. We had our travel agent verify that we had bottled water complimentary with this suite. We have a confirmed email. Then I further inquired  (thanks to another poster on the CC Hal site) that they say that the mini bar in the Pinnacle Suite is also complimentary. Any guest in all the suites can pick up bottles/cans of water in their suite dedicated Neptune Lounge complimentary. But just in case I questioned the concierges and the room steward about the mini bar water. All said that in the Pinnacle suite the mini bar is stocked complimentary. We get our final bill and their are mini bar charges, no time for the concierge to adjust the bill. Got home and their was even more mini bar charges. We did not need anything from the mini bar as there was plenty of complimentary water from elsewhere.Just yesterday we finally got confirmation that the dispute was resolved in our favor.

My husband and I will be sailing for the first time with HAL next April on Nieuw Statendam. It's a 14 day transatlantic from FLL to Rotterdam. We'll be in a Neptune Suite and I just read yesterday that cocktails in the Neptune Lounge aren't even included, even if you have the high end drink package. (We do, it was part of the promotion we booked with.) This just seems so odd to me. We're so spoiled after sailing in YC.

Tell me more about this cabin and secret door please.

    Laura

Not really a "secret," but at the end of both hallways on deck 16, closest to the lounge, there's a door leading into the lounge. Really convenient. Our room was a standard YC1 on Meraviglia. I guess some people might not like it being all the way at the end, but those hallways aren't very long anyway.

This, stayed about 3 cabins from the lounge, had my own private entrance it seemed.  That said, hard to go wrong anywhere.

We were at the end right next to that secret door into the lounge. People often ask if there's any lounge noise heard in those rooms, and we never heard a peep. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Then there are the regular interlopers that get in from the Aurea experience from Top 19 sun deck that just take these stairs up to the Yacht Club One Pool Deck located on the Starboard side next to the hot tub.

    IMG_2876.jpg

Surprised they haven't somehow blocked that off by now. Regulars? You've seen the same interlopers more than once?

Just got back from checking out the 'Seafood Extravaganza'. All hands on deck for this one. 10 tables of 4 on either side of the One Pool Deck, 5 directly in front of the buffet and almost every lounger occupied with guests indulging. Went inside to go to cabin and bumped into a whole group of YC guests that just 'heard' about this feast as they all piled into the elevator to go up one deck. (Boy, how spoiled we get in the YC.....we conserve our energy to eat, not to take stairs).

I'm glad we're not seafood lovers.

Do you recall which day in the YC dining room that the dinner menu is seafood heavy? Is it Day 4?
