In 2021 on Meraviglia in the YC, we drank Moet all week. I loved the rose' and we had a few bottles show up to our stateroom as a surprise during the week. (Rudy was our sommelier that week and did a fantastic job!)

  2. Following along.

Seaside in the YC was our first cruise with MSC back in January 2019. We immediately booked again for Seashore in 2020, but we all know what happened then. We kept our booking and our Seashore cruise for October 2021 turned into a cruise on Meraviglia instead. It all worked out though! We loved Meraviglia and it happened to be one of those low passenger count cruises...it was crazy!

We have another cruise coming up next month on Seascape and we're really starting to get excited now. I can't wait to hear what you think about the YC.

I hope you and your mom have a great cruise! Cheers!

May I ask, was this a free upgrade ot monetary?

I would like to know this as well. We're currently booked in a YC Grand (walk-in closet on 19) for 2 weeks next month on Seascape. Just received another round of upgrade offers for both weeks, for Royal and Owner's suites. The cost to upgrade to the Royal would still be almost 5k per week and the Owner's is even more.

Has hurricanes impacted my cruise? Absolutely. Have I been in danger? Never!

Exactly this. When we were out in Hurricane Sandy, we never felt like we were in danger. The captain and crew kept us advised and when our 7-day turned into an 8-day cruise, the entertainment staff printed out another daily program and it was business as usual. They had closed Port Canaveral so we spent a sea day sailing in circles off the south Florida coast with a Disney and NCL ship.

  5. September / October has become our favorite time to cruise. We've had beautiful weather and only once on an October cruise were we affected by a hurricane (Sandy). Even then though, despite the rougher than usual seas, they managed to keep us in the sunshine. We'll be on Seascape 9/10 - 9/24.  My only fear is our flight to Miami being delayed due to weather.

I am guessing it is by design. Give Yacht Club guests a taste of what MSC can provide, then give them a reason to try out their 'new and improved' product, Explora Journeys. Even providing colorful picture brochures in YC cabins to peruse. Subtle. Photo below of cover for Explora Journeys brochure with new logo.

    Did it work?  😆

This 20 second video is the power drapery I am closing because the the sun rays coming through these beautiful windows turns into so much heat the air conditioning fails to cool the living room.

Shame you have to cover that beautiful view, but I can't handle the heat indoors either, so I understand.

We're next door to this OS next month (19003). My husband keeps asking if I've gotten any upgrade offers for the OS's.  Both are still available for the weeks we cruise. Now I'm thinking we'll just stay put in the grand we have and save the money.

There are many reports of the Dysons not working properly or short-circuiting due to amp issues.  Wouldn't risk it personally.

Yep, and knowing me, I'd be the one to cause it.

I've decided to not bother worrying about my hair on our upcoming trip. Within minutes after stepping outside into the humidity anyway, my hair has a mind of its own. So I'll be embracing my curls and just letting it go.

    DW's words as well.

    Exactly my thoughts too.

Is there at least shrimp on the TC buffet sometimes? My husband and I aren't lovers of seafood anyway, but my husband does love shrimp. I know he's looking forward to at least that next month.

It really is a shame they had to do away with the Extravaganza.  I know it was a big hit with seafood lovers.

You are allowed to bring your own, but I have seen other reports of problems using the Dyson due to power requirements.

This is what I feared. I won't risk it. Thx.

In the past, I've just walked up to the restaurant to pick my time for my diamond perk.  Another time, the butler arranged a time for my party.

Side question,  which night would be best to skip dinner in the YC?

Trying to figure out the same thing. Haven't been on board a cruise ship since 2021, but they were able to get us a copy of the dinner menus on boarding day. We've never gone to any specialty restaurants on MSC, but our next trip I think we're going to.

  12. My husband and I just purchased an annual trip insurance policy that will cover all of our trips thru next July. Great coverage and a better value than purchasing thru the cruise lines. It will also cover the land portion following a transatlantic we're doing on a HAL ship next April.
