  1. Something happened to us this last weekend that put things in perspective for me. My MIL always wanted to go to South Beach for Christmas. We finally did it. Christmas Day we ate at the Hotel. Four people. We each had a cocktail. We shared an appetizer. We had a bottle of wine. My wife and her Mom split an entree. Service was slow, it was very crowded being a holiday. The food was good, certainly not bad, certainly not knock your socks off. We all shared 1 dessert. The bill before tip was $500+. For one pretty good meal in a high quality vacation area. My wife and I are doing a 3 night cruise in January on Seashore for $499pp. in yacht club. To me, the value you get in Yacht Club is hard to match. No it won’t be perfect. Maybe our butler won’t come by the second we are seated in the lounge. But if you look at what is going on in other destinations it is a great deal.
  2. Thank you for the update. We will be on the Seashore in January I’ll give an update as well. I’m hoping this has to do with the transition. I remember when the ships went from sailing empty to over booked, practically overnight, there were issues as well.
  3. What is you general feeling of how things are going: Positive or negative?
  4. The feeling I get from your review is that the service in YC is getting back to normal. Even on the 3 night part. Would you agree?
  5. A positive Seashore review! Do you work for MSC?
  6. My point is that if you are trying to monopolize the staff’s time that is inconsiderate to the other passengers. We tip extra, but don’t demand special attention
  7. We are on in January. Hoping someone does a trip report

    Seashore

Does anybody know when the Seashore gets to Port Canaveral? Looking forward to trip reports and YouTube videos.
  9. I guess it all depends on the total compensation package they get from MSC vs other lines. Not going to nitpick between what is a tip and what is wage. Sort of MSCs version of the VAT. Maybe because they have so many non American passengers. in the end it goes back to if you want to tip extra do it. If not, don’t. Don’t let people make you feel bad either way.
  10. I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the Saints. - Billy Joel
  11. Can’t find anything on the news here. Where is it docked?
  12. A tricky subject. You can imagine why strict requirements are in place, and with the extra emphasis on child trafficking I would make double sure I had my paperwork in order.
  13. Another reason to board early.
  14. Is anyone currently in Yacht Club? Is it still offered there?
  15. Cost for everything has risen in the last 2 years. Would you rather MSC do these cost cutting things, or pay $100 more per person per cruise. Just the cost of fuel has to be killing them. Not to mention a shortage of labor drives up payrolls, etc etc
