  1. In fact yes we did! Unknown to me, we booked an "Open" booking on board last year and we chose a cruise within the specified timeframe in that offer and obtained double points. A happy suprise.
  2. We're scheduled to go there on the Beyond on 11 Nov. If Celebrity docks, we'll go ashore. Last month we stopped in Nassau and some cruisers stayed on board due to the warnings. To each their own.
  3. On our last cruises on the Ascent (Feb 4-18) we did the "Go Green" and got the service but not the points. We should have received 40 points each week instead of 35 (for Aqua Class), but they gave us 75 for each week! I have decided not to point out that we didn't get our 40 points, until which time they ever correct it...
  4. Perhaps you were unknowingly excorcised. 😇
  5. I have attached the posted list of locations and it is very large. We've done London, New York and San Fransisco and thought it was a great way to go. Thinking about using it on or Asian "Spice-Route" cruises next year (Tokyo to Mumbai). Thoughts?
  6. The last time I saw a laundromat on a cruise ship was on Oceania - good riddance (not to Oceania but to the laundromat experience)! Many unwritten rules and many sets of eyes on you to ensure they are followed, just like Seinfeld's Soup ***! On one cruise a comedian poked fun at it. Now we always have checked bags so we just bring enough clothing for the duration of the cruise. I'm happy that we now get weekly laundry as we're Elite status, which comes in handy.
  7. We were in Blu on Ascent from 4-18 Feb and had a completely different experience. "Huge" and "Noisy"? - hardly in our experience, maybe because we were having such a good time.
  8. We bought this at "Black Friday" prices even though we had the Premium Drink Package. We had fun, learned something, met some people and tried some wines available only by the bottle. We could have lingered afterwards and slurped up wine served to empty tables, which I did for one wine I liked - without remorse. We'd do it again. We were offered a "Premium Wine Tasting" and a "Champagne Wine Tasting" at ridiculous prices and declined.
  9. For us Blu is more about its smallness (and small lines = quick seating) and the service than the food, although several of the Blu exclusive dishes were good.
  10. You got there early! Smart move. There are five ships in port today, but on 7 Feb when we're there ,there will be seven including the massice Icon of the Seas, so we'll be there when it opens. P.S. The chicken wings are excellent!
  11. A good deal. You can make "Open" bookings too in which you can choose later.
  12. A real advantage of CC is that there is a huge searchable archive.
  13. My hobby is metal work and includes arc welding. I'm happy to hear there's a 220V outlet in each room.
  14. I did a bit of a search to see if this has been posed before and didn't see anything, so here it is. A lot of this is subjective, but essentially my question if: "For a given level of stateroom, which cruises tend to be the least expensive per night?" I looked at several ships, itineraries and times of year and know that price is a moving target as prices fluctuate quite a bit from two years out to the time leading up to sail date. I was surprised to see that older ships are not notably less expensive than the Edge Class, nor are "odd" length cruises, e.g. 4, 5 or 6 night. The more sea days, the less expensive it would be I assume because there are fewer docking fees, less fuel consumed, etc., but this seems to be only significant on Transatlantic cruises. Far East seems to be less expensive than Caribbean and Europe. Spring and Fall, less than Winter and Summer. What am I missing?
  15. We went to Elite on the second leg of a B2B and went to the Captain Club rep and they gave us the benefits for the second leg, which were significant. If you don't do this it won't be automatic as we know that CC points lag by a couple of weeks. P.S. we were five points short after the first leg, so we did "Go Green" to get those extra five points on the first leg to push us over the Elite threshold. :-)
  16. How about (for us) it's 21 sleeps! We can't wait. Unhappy people are far more likely to post comments than happy. I will say this however, Celebrity is not trying to attract solo travellers, and are selling out cruises. They charge more for a solo than two or more (!) and this is a simple business decision as there are a fixed number of staterooms and the more people on board, the higher the revenue - from packages, drinks, excursions, specialty restaurants, gambling, on-board purchases, etc. Solo travellers say they pay a premium, but another way to look at it is that 2-4 in a room comes with a discount.
  17. Last year we did a B2B with one week in a Sky Suite and one week in Aqua Class. Another B2B a year earlier was Aqua Class then Veranda. Each week I lost privileges based on what I had paid, and I was fine with that.
  18. We boarded in the Retreat Area last year at 10:30 and were among the first.
  19. A game of dominoes. I've seen higher level suites fill first, then they seem to work down, but that's based on a few people reporting MoveUps and quick looks at inventory.
  20. We will be on a B2B in 7206 in Oct-Nov 2025. There's a video on Youtube that showed very well that it has a superior view over Sunset Verandas above it, and is far below the clamour on Deck 10 with Oceanview and the Sunset Bar being active 18 hours/day.
  21. I think that what consumers see is not exactly the available inventory, but what Celebrity would still like to sell.
  22. We're on the same cruise (presently in an Aqua Class Stateroom) and we can still bid on a Celebrity Suite - USD $1000, Royal Suite - USD $1700, and Edge Villa USD $2150.
  23. Undated, but probably a year or so old. Luminae-Wine-List.pdf
