  1. I believe the early seating is 6 pm officially although I’ve seen the restaurants open as early as 5:30. With anytime we’ve always still been assigned seating within a certain section so the waiters are generally the same and the tables we are seated at may vary but are always in close proximity. We also don’t reserve a time to eat at the MDR and haven’t had issue getting seated but we usually eat around 6 to 6:30. It seems busier around 7 so if that’s the time your group settles on then a reservation couldn’t hurt but we just never found much need for a reservation time at the MDR. If there’s a crowd they form two lines, reservations and non reserved and the lines get served the same or there’s fewer people waiting in the no reservations line lol. If you want flexibility to eat with another party I would go with anytime, there’s really no downside going that route.
  2. Celebrity’s pricing is illogical and often the discount percent doesn’t match the actual discount. Sometimes two device upgrade or plan is cheaper than buying two individual ones, here it’s not. There’s no reason for it.
  3. Seems to be that is because they deleted the existing MDR menus and are rolling out the new menus with the “timeless” and regular sections combined meaning there’s only about 3-4 new options each night.
  4. What’s concerning is the Murano menu is not accessible on Celebrity’s website right now.
  5. We find the cakes to be very dry. Some desserts are hit and miss. Anything that’s mass produced in the galley is going to have limitations, my expectations were never high to begin with but yeah I very rarely go for any of the cakes.
  6. Not at this property in particular but any FLL airport hotel you are getting what you pay for. If you are good with that and it’s only one night then you know that going in.
  7. It was fine for one night. The hotel is nice in parts and not in others, a very cobbled together type property. I was hoping to arrive early enough to use the nearby water taxi but we did not. I wouldn’t pay extra for this property but I wouldn’t avoid it either. The location is very close and nice enough. I will say I had an absolutely bizarre experience with their transportation to the cruise pier which was part of my booking. It was eventually sorted out but the man at the front desk was apparently completely unaware they offered such a thing despite being literally across the street from the massive cruise pier and I’m going to bet I wasn’t the first hotel guest who had this as part of their booking (I book everything direct and myself so this wasn’t a Expedia, cruise line or TA mix up). If it’s not part of your booking it’s $8 per person, btw. Imo only the Princess pier which is the closest to the hotel is walkable but it’s not out of the question to just walk to your specific terminal though.
  8. Typically your first and one of the last sea days are the chic nights. Day 2 is very common and if they can manage it the second to last night but depending on port schedule could make them flip flop it. Usually when you see lobster on the menu in the MDR in your ap that’s going to be the second chic night. I guess my question is does this pattern hold for the longer cruises, 17+?
  9. I noticed there’s a $12 pina colada on the menu at the sunset bar, which obviously wouldn’t be covered. The pina coladas I always got were made the same way as daiquiris with the frozen drink mix and I’d be surprised if those aren’t still under the limit. Seems like many things might really depend where/who you ask.
  10. I don’t want to start a whole thread on this but applies to the topic at hand. I’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on the MDR menus in the app as I’m curious how it’s going to look for my upcoming 17 night sailing. Yes I know the app is notoriously wrong and the placeholder menu for my sailing is nowhere close to accurate, what I’m looking for are updated menus on current sailings. I’ve noticed most ships (I’m not looking at the Edge class as I’m not sailing on one but otherwise) have now transitioned to the eliminated timeless appetizers and entrees section and now have them combined with the nightly offering only giving 3-4 new items in each course per evening. Also the up charge for steak, lobster and surf and turf are there. I’ve also noticed the silhouette has better food/more choices and still does for some reason.
  11. I don’t see it as very difficult. “Hey this is a lovely location on this cabin don't you think, did you have to book it early like we did or can you get these last minute?” Is not an inquisition. But I agree, the TA who made the booking is probably the source for this difficulty.
  12. I had no idea Lawn Club was so popular, why?
  13. I am realizing this more and more. This is the first cruise with Celebrity I’ve “taken the wheel”, before I let DH handle it. I’m realizing now how many things have gone unnoticed, not by his fault just not knowing what these inconsistencies are, I don’t want to think about how much we’ve been ripped off in the past. In my app the premium wifi upgrade cost is $7.99, it says that’s 15% off but it’s really 20% off of $9.99. For premium outright it says $21.99, a 10% savings off of $24.99 per day. I bought the upgrade at $4.99 per day for a 17 night cruise that sails west over the international date line so of course they charged x18 days and not 17. I don’t feel like arguing over the phone for $10 (extra day x2 people) but might bring this up on board, we’ll see. It is maddening.
  14. Under the gifts and gear section on the website, it’s not on the app. Scroll down and then there’s a place where you scroll to the right of the different categories you can browse. Not easy! Coincidentally the bag of laundry disappeared for me while it was on sale the other day. I was going to pre buy but oh well. As I’ve mentioned several times the last cruise I was on the room steward had told me they no longer offer a bag of laundry, it could only be done a la carte, which we did. I guess this was a lie or a temporary change. So I’m not exactly thrilled with the laundry process. Either they’ll offer a bag on board or I’ll do a few items a la carte again.
  15. It tends to be better while docked, also more people off the ship helps bandwidth. I have personally streamed hockey games in the middle of the ocean so I do think you could give it a shot. No guarantees of course.
  16. What are the best items to order at Murano?
  17. Celebrity seems to have really restricted the access to see what shore excursions are offered. It’s very difficult to browse them without already being booked for a sailing.
  18. Once we dined in a specialty restaurant on the last night of the cruise and they brought me like 8 lobster tails without asking, seems they just needed to get rid of them.
  19. Sometimes a random specialty restaurant also has a sea day lunch, such as Murano. You just have to look in the app if any of these are listed. Id like to know if there’s a definitive rule of thumb on the chic nights, especially for longer cruises but generally the first and last sea days are chic nights. Day 2 and 6 for 7 night cruises. If there’s a port on your last day then the sea day before that. Basically that type of set up.
  20. This might be a stupid question but if they are doing everyone’s laundry together how do they know which items belong to which guest/cabin? I send out a lot of small items like socks and undies so just curious. Also, while I’m here on this topic, I’m considering pre purchasing a bag of laundry on the flash sale. How do I go about redeeming this while on board? I’m a little wary about laundry procedures. My last experience on coincidentally the Equinox over New Years I was told there was no such thing as bag of laundry price anymore and I could send my things out for the a la carte price. This was in Aqua class. Was my steward just mistaken or was it something else Celebrity briefly took away for a bit?
  21. It doesn’t make sense to have the price so wildly different on the one device vs two device plans. Obviously two device should be double but not any more than that. It’s just more illogical pricing. Just do whichever is cheaper. I bought the $4.99 upgrade for my husband and I but if they two device had worked out cheaper I’d just buy that and we’d share one log in and each be able to have a device.
  22. I wish there was an easy way to have all this info handy. Cruise lines don’t advertise ahead of time there will be a basic shuttle and it would be good to know for planning purposes. Content creators make tons of videos about cruising and cruise ships but very little about the ports themselves. Some advertised cities are hours away by bus, some need a short shuttles to get to the city, some just need a tram to get through the shipyard (these are usually free). I’ll add one, there’s a shuttle to the city of La Rochelle in France. I think it was $20pp for about a 10-15 minute ride.
  23. I’m not Elite so can’t help you there. I believe the changes can be done in the ap/online because you essentially have to cancel, get a refund and then rebuy which can all be done there. If you call it doesn’t work any differently, they can’t just give you the refund of the difference. I didn’t really want to go through that to save like $20 but I was able to lower my excursion by $85 total so I went ahead and did that today. My understanding is you can lose the excursion if it’s sold out if you cancel it if there’s a waitlist. Perhaps they can advise you on this over the phone though if they’d be able to let you rebook it right away.
  24. Another thing to think about is do you want morning or afternoon sun and it sounds like the IV can get hot with the afternoon sun. As mentioned on a round trip you’ll be sailing multiple directions but something to judge when thinking of your route.
  25. I was going to edit the title of this to reflect the sailings but seems I can’t. also 20% off dining packages and single night reservations.
