  1. Ah the sacrifices you are making for the rest of us. Thanks so much for taking us along.
  2. @Cruisegirl6On 12/10 and 2/4 Ascent sailings BOTH chic nights were port days - Day 2 Nassau and Day 6 Grand Cayman.
  3. Haven't been on Beyond, but all other ships I've been on the MDR is open for dinner from 5:30 - 9:00pm. Buffet open until 9.30pm. Late night snacks start at 10 so that might be your only option, along with pizza and pasta.
  4. Everyone has their own opinion. With 6 cruises in the last 2 years - 2 Equinox, 2 Apex, 2 Ascent, here are my thoughts. Experiences are getting better than they were right after the Covid restart. Better supplies, more staffing, etc. For me, Equinox loses out to the new and shiny of Apex and Ascent. And I much prefer the 4 main dining room concept on the Edge class ships over the old style 1 large, noisy dining room. I do think with Ascent they are targeting new cruise to Celebrity cruisers and maybe a bit younger crowd. I enjoyed Eden and Rooftop Grill over the specialty restaurants on Equinox.
  5. Interested to read your review as we're thinking about booking a suite for the first time - after 19 non-suite but wonderful cruises. Just wondering whether it's really worth the price difference.
  6. We did Ascent on 2/4 and booked a concierge class guarantee about 6 weeks before sailing. We were assigned a cabin within 48 hours after booking. Ended up with a great cabin only a few forward of 12th floor aft elevators. No upgrades were available but that was most likely because the ship was full. We paid less for the cabin than an ocean view was going for. Of course, we know we could have ended up with a less desirable location so count it as lucky. Good luck!!
  7. They didn't ask us for a reason. I simply said I don't drink alcohol but hubby does, which is true. No questions asked and that's how they posted it.
  8. Just off Ascent 2/11. We were able to do premium drink for one and zero proof for the other. It just required a telephone call to get that done.
  9. Yes. Just off Ascent. The Beyond the Podium guest was Kenneth Stein talking about NASA, space race, etc. I missed the talks, but heard positive comments about them.
  10. Which ship as these benefits are treated differently on e-class?
  11. Agree with @hcat on Tuscan for it's decor (classic yet trendy black and white), coziness, music, etc. But favorite dish is oxtail from Cosmopolitan, which is my 2nd favorite venue.
  12. Yes, just did it on a 7 night on Ascent.
  13. We board Ascent this coming Sunday and here's the current Wi-Fi package promotion. We actually caught a 50% off on Black Friday. You might check some of the live threads to see whether any of the dailies show the current single day rate. As I understand it, there's no longer a basic wi-fi unless you purchased as all-included. Both are not required to purchase a package. We buy the premium wi-fi for 2 devices and share that. Unsure of the cancellation policy.
  14. We're booked on Ascent leaving next Sunday. I have non-alcoholic/zero proof package. DH has premium alcohol. I had to call to purchase but it was allowed when I did it December 23, 2023. No questions asked. I simply said I do not drink alcohol.
  15. They did on our 12/10/23 sailing. We don't play but both tables were lively in the evening and I recall advertisements for Texas hold-em tournaments.
  16. @kwokpot I've always seen them take it back on carts, never throw it directly in garbage can.
  17. Waste is definitely a thing whenever any restaurant is trying to figure out what people want, how much they want, and when they want it. Have to say I didn't see any waste on the seafood buffet on our Dec 10 Ascent cruise - lobster gone, shrimp gone, crawfish gone. Maybe some mussels left. Lines 20 people deep. We saw more than one person with plates stacked with 6-8 small lobster tails. We usually do lunch at the buffet for the variety but we skipped until the madness finally stopped. Been cruising since 2004 (16 on Celebrity) and even with all the midnight buffets I don't recall seeing food attacked the way it was that day🙂.
  18. We had one the last day of 7-day 12/10/23 Ascent cruise. We're headed back on 2/4 so will be interesting to see whether they still do it. It was really kind of mad house that day!
  19. Just got one asking me about the call I made 8/5/2022. I promise everyone I have no idea what I called about and whether they were able to help me on the first try. I don't cruise as much as others on this board, but I've cruised 3 times since that date.
  20. You can still cruise, just not get off in Martinique. At least that was true last February on Apex and appears to be true still.
  21. BF and I did a cruise last February where we stopped in Martinique. BF did not have a passport. She was allowed to cruise with birth certificate and drivers license. She was told at embarkation that should could not get off in Martinique. They put a reminder note in her cabin the night before Martinique.
  22. We ate in all 4 restaurants on our Dec 4 cruise. We liked the atmosphere and service in Tuscan best but our favorite dishes were from Cosmopolitan's everyday menu - Oxtail Royale and Corn Soup. We also liked their carrot cake. We ended ordering these again one night in Tuscan.
  23. Celebrity used to post how tips would be shared, but this is the most they provide on their site now: https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/gratuity-program
