  1. There’s no advantage of having a PVP here. The help the OP needs can just as easily be received by simply calling up Carnival’s customer service line. That’s if anything can actually be done. Most likely the cabin category they are trying to book is sold out for the number of people they are booking.
  2. With respect, any new ship in the fleet is going to be the most talked about thing during its first few weeks of sailing. It really doesn’t matter if it’s a new build or a repurposed ship. Personally, I think they could have created even more buzz, and increased demand even more, if they made the Costa ships (that were repurposed to Carnival) adults-only. The style of those ships are already more elegant. To combine that with Carnival’s entertainment, which lacks on the actual Costa ships and most similar cruise lines, on ships that people can enjoy without unruly kids would be fantastic.
  3. Enjoy it! The Sagrada Familia was my favorite part of my trip to Barcelona years ago. I’m not even religious. It’s just from an architectural and artistic standpoint, there is nothing else like it in the world. Park Guell is also impressive, on a smaller scale, if you have time to do that as well.
  4. The thing about AirTags is they have a Bluetooth range of 33 feet. Which means they need to be within that distance to not only an iPhone, but an iPhone that is turned on and has its Bluetooth turned on. They are not meant for tracking things in live time. You would need a GPS tracker that works with cell service for that.
  5. They didn’t get a refund. They got $500 OBC and $150 towards shore excursions.
  6. For the life of me I don’t understand why they don’t just make it available to purchase online before your cruise. It would be so much easier on everyone.
  7. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t read the review because they lost me when they called it a “boat” in the title. I have sailed on the Vista before and loved it. The Havana area on that class of ship is the absolute best. We had the pool pretty much to ourselves the entire cruise. At most there were only ever 2 or 3 people in there with us. I would book the ship again in a heartbeat and I would encourage everyone to form their own opinions, don’t base them off other people’s because some people are just miserable with life in general and can’t ever be pleased.
  8. Refunds are applied back to the original form of payment. So if you paid with a gift card, it’s back on the gift card. That’s why you don’t throw out gift cards until you are sure you don’t need a refund.
  9. It’s still early for Oct excursions. Just keep checking back.
  10. For what it’s worth, I have done a dozen cruises on Carnival, some during spring break, including a 4-day and a 5-day during spring break. I have never encountered unruly passengers or seen fights break out either. So I also don’t get it. But I also don’t hang out in bars, nightclubs of even on the lido. It’s not my thing. So maybe my husband and I just avoid it due to our lifestyle and personal choices. I really don’t know.
  11. Call Carnival and ask them. There is technically no such thing as single occupancy on a Carnival cruise. But, you can still book only one person in a room. But the rate is based on double occupancy.
  12. Same. I have a Chase Freedom and a Sapphire card, and neither have it.
  13. That's a very good point, and I ended up booking the RIB boat. It's a short excursion, so we will have plenty of time to also explore the port. I just can't see doing Troll Road as a cruise excursion. If we like Norway enough maybe we will do a land vacation and take our time and do it.
  14. It's best to call up your bank and ask them. Also, never ever use a debit card to pay for something online or in a store. Your bank is under no obligation to remove fraudulent charges when your debit card is hacked. And it will be eventually. Credit card companies, however, will. Let the thieves steal the credit card company's money, not yours.
  15. I mean, it's the Villa. Not a cabana. It's meant to be shared by a lot of people, and you split the cost. If it's just you and your significant other and/or kids, then just book a cabana.
  16. We typically always book the last night because 1) it cheers me up when I'm depressed about the cruise being over, and 2) the menu usually isn't good that night. It's always the night they do the baked Alaska which I don't like, and there really isn't another good option. I wait until I'm on board to book, though, just to review the menus so that I'm sure I'm booking the night that isn't appealing in the MDR, but it's almost always that last night.
  17. Haha, I was soooo excited to turn Platinum. We were set to turn platinum on a Norwegian Fjords cruise in June of 2020. The COVID happened. Rescheduled for the same cruise again for 2021. Cancelled again because of COVID. We finally made platinum on our Alaska cruise in 2022 after all that waiting and you know what? We forgot all about the Platinum/Diamond party and actually missed it!!! I was so mad. Cruising again in June and going to try my best to not let that happen again, lol.
  18. Sincerely, but how does one pack for what has to be at least a 13 day vacation if it’s a 12 day cruise into just a carryon? I’m not an overpacker and I’m pretty low maintenance in that I can get away with packing only one extra pair of shoes (formal, for elegant night), but there’s no way I could do it. I wouldn’t be able to do more than a few days worth of clothes, my extra shoes and my personal items.
  19. I absolutely LOVE coves and always book them on the ships that have them. I love them for the same reason as you: I love being that close to the water. So close that you can hear the waves and see the flying fish in the morning.
  20. That doesn’t make a difference. There is no discounts to be had onboard when it’s your first Platinum cruise.
  21. Always booked directly with Carnival. Then you have control over your booking and can make changes whenever you need to. Without having to rely on someone calling you back to find out what you need changed, and then you waiting for them to make the change.
  22. I believe they had a hard time selling the cruises out of Boston. I mean, I live 35 miles from that port and would love to cruise out if it. But I have no desire to do a New England/Canada cruise because it would feel like I wasn’t leaving home. And I believe that’s all they did. Now, if they ever did a Boston to Bermuda cruise, I would book it in a heartbeat. But I think Norwegian pretty much has taken up that market.
  23. I certainly hope not. I love that Carnival’s ships still look like ships. Not the floating monstrosities that Royal tries to pass off as ships.
  24. Personally, I think it’s the perfect place to pick it up if we have to pick it up somewhere. Pixels never has customers anyway, so no lines, no waiting.
