I really don’t understand what all the fuss is about here , I would have said ,it has absolutely nothing to do with the CC company that you just changed your mind it’s not up to them to take up your dispute, the transaction is not fraudulent , Azamara has not gone bankrupt , of course it maybe different in the US , in Europe if you change your mind then it’s your responsibility to get a refund and like previous posts have said in several countries when you book a holiday you are locked into a contract. To much energy has been wasted on this post 🤣🤣🤣

For anybody whose entered the US and has felt they have been treated like a criminal , spoken to rudely and made to feel most unwelcome by Border Control , will, I’m sure cannot understand why some people from certain countries think it’s perfectly acceptable to travel to others without a passport , shame that country expects their visitors to stand at the passport booth in a humbling manner, and certainly wouldn’t allow anyone to gain entry on anything other than a passport plus a VISA, enter their own country . I must admit I love going on cruises via a US gateway , but at times , think why , due to the treatment I’ve encountered many times . Please don’t take this personally , anyone, I have friends from across the pond and I enjoy meeting people from all over the globe which I can get on a cruise, I certainly don’t enjoy U K only passenger cruises.

I find this topic both amazing but not entirely surprising . NOBODY no matter where they come from should be allowed to enter another country without a passport , and why on earth should you expect to be allowed to do so.

Azamaras website is quite shameful , if it were my business I’d be to ashamed to put my head above the parapet! They are fast becoming a laughing stock. I thought I’d just check again after all these replies and low and behold other than Cat 8 which is “ normal” amount , the price is once again showing over a million pounds for any other Oceanview Category, I’ve not tried to book a balcony but God knows what will happen , as at one point they we’re also sold out or were they 😡😡😡😡

That’s what I saw but when I went to book the site said there was a problem , it’s a dogs dinner 😡😡

I had some questions about flights and fcc that’s why she didn’t put a hold on one , it’s quite rare for 10 cabins of the same category to sell within a matter of hours, the same happened with the balconies that were left they have inside and obstructed left. They starting showing other oceanviews again on the site but when I tried to book one the system showed an error. I am a fan of Azamara , I was on the Onward only this January ,but as a multi national they need to get their fingers out and sort it !!! Our NA cousins can cancel Willy nilly , get their deposits etc.. back and from what I can gather that’s exactly what they are doing, I don’t believe they will go under but they are ruining their reputation, and competition is fierce , no one should be sitting on their laurels.

No I didn’t want an obstructed view cabin, that’s why I didn’t book

To say I’m unhappy with Azamara is an understatement , I’ve been trying to book the 19 th Sept Journey sailing , was happy to have an ocean view my very good T/A finally contacted them on 8 May and there were 10 midship cabins left, their flight dept couldn’t get any flights up on their system so she got me flights , when she went back to them ALL the cabins had gone and they only had obstructed views left , so we left it then they showed up again at approx £2 million pounds so we guess that was because they had sold them, over the next few days it was the same, now they are showing again but when she tried to book them she was told there was only obstructed views left 😡😡. She and I are quite miffed by this , I’ve missed a holiday and she’s lost income . Her and her colleagues are really frustrated with Azamara , when they do get through and they get someone who has moved over from RC and knows what they’re talking about , they pass that person around the team so they can get the answers they need .

Here in the U.K. if you cancel a cruise just because you’ve changed your mind you do not get your deposit back, you loose it, if it’s a cruise you can sometimes get your deposit transferred to another sailing. We can’t chop and change as we fancy. This also applies to ANY holiday land or sea based , If it’s for illness etc.. then you claim it back on your Travel Insurance .

No I don’t think these price of a cruise are a couple of quid , I fully appreciate that not everyone is wealthy , myself included and for many people a cruise is a once in a lifetime holiday to be enjoyed and not everyone can afford to buy the drinks on board, but it’s those that can and seem to enjoy and publish their little money saving tricks !! What don’t like is the way people BRAG about not spending any money on a cruise likes it’s something to be proud of , it’s their smug attitude , giving advise on posts on CC on how to sneak drinks from their cabin into the dining room, what you can buy on Amazon to store sprits inside your case etc etc…. I find the whole thing distasteful. I’ll say no more on the subject, happy cruising peeps

When I read the postings on this subject and there have been many over the years , I am astonished at what people will do to save a couple of quid, in the grand scheme of things if you go on a a cruise like this why on earth would you sit in your cabin to drink , it’s hardly fun . People will say oh I like sitting on the balcony having a drink , I only like the wine / spirits I bring with me ,I can’t afford the cruise unless I do this , no it’s because they are to mean to buy a drink , some people even try to sneak there own wine poured into the dining room, the same as the free drinks at the on board functions, thinking no one will notice them !! bah humbug 😡😡

This subject has truly been flogged to death ,😆😆 I totally agree with Sujomilks comments. On a final note , it’s not always what you wear ,but how you wear it.

The worse places for cab rip off for me has been New York, Chicago and Miami, my husband drove a Black cab in London for 40 years , under such strict regulations , the best in the world , if anyone’s knows what they go through to complete the knowledge they would fully understand that an Uber is an absolute no , no to us. Always check the fare before getting in and if they ask for a lot extra just refuse to pay it, and always act in a confident manner

I have sailed with many cruise lines including Azamara and its a shame that Azamara has been allowed to slip and thats even BC , , I feel Royal C had little interest they were to busy building their Mega ships , and Celebrity is nothing like it used to be . I’m hoping that the new owners will give it the love and attention it deserves, there are many things that need addressing to bring it back up , I feel what is keeping it going is its loyal fan base, having recently sailed on the Onward, the food was often not up to par, the dreaded shower curtain is so awful, the staff are still excellent and it is very good value for money. Oceania is currently my favourite but it is a bit like Gods waiting room and their prices seem to have risen dramatically but no way is it a rival for Azamara, Oceania is a far more superior product.

I’m sure they’d rather stick needles in their eyes 😆😆

I’m sorry to see Jaques go I would have preferred Polo to have been replaced , very old fashioned in my opinion, Also think Red Ginger is itching special , either way I hope they take a good look at ALL the menus , modernisation is what is needed . Saying that I can’t say I’ve been that disappointed with the food 😆

We stayed in The Hyatt Centric in Bricknell in Jan this year , hotel ok, it was clean , Bricknell is very safe , there are great restaurants and bakeries for all tastes and pockets , a fabulous Mall , you can walk along the estuary day and night.

Hi, my husband and I had just come off a Caribbean cruise on Azamara Onward , we throughly enjoyed it ,however just a few points re Oceania and Azamara. We have only sailed on Riveria -4 times , 4 cruises with Azamara, we are ex Celebrity Aqua class fans and have cruised approx 40 times . Oceania Food is far far superior and it certainly has the wow factor. Cabins are better The Riveria is a slicker ship. The evenings are extremely dull The crew can be offish Fellow passengers are more staid lack of atmosphere payable tips very little extras included Much more expensive Azamara Good atmosphere Tips included Drinks Great staff Visible officers More going on in the evenings Need to pay for Speciality dining old ships poor cabins dire showers Excellent value for money These are just a few things that immediately come to mind. We would travel with both companies again depending on itinerary, costs etc.. One extra thing to add, things are not the same since the dreaded COVID , staffing levels,, worldwide logistic issues, the war in Ukraine etc etc etc we have changed so has the world of cruising.

As someone who lives in SE London and commuted into town for 39 years , my advise would be to take a train and not a bus/coach as the traffic into town from the suburbs, is to put it mildly , horrendous ! As long as there are no strikes Public transport in Britain is pretty good and used by all walks of society , unless you are mad no one drives into central London . Get the train , plan your day well , use the tube , walk , hire a black cab but ensure you allow time to get your train back to the ship. Enjoy

I know a lot of people won’t like this post , but hey ho. Hi , if I were you and this cruise was a celebration then I would certainly not be going with P and O , I appreciate you have been with them before but have you ever tried cruising on a ship that is not solely aimed at the British Market , you will find everything of a much higher standard . Having cruised with P and O many many years ago my husband and I decided back in 2018 to give it one more chance on the Britannia , as we didn’t fancy sailing out of Miami and to cut along story short we would never ever ever sail with them again, their standards are so poor in many regions, and as to saying the staff can’t do enough for you is decidedly laughable , the food was rubbish , even the speciality restaurants were not that special . If you are thinking of paying that much, go with a decent company , not P and O . PS my husband and I have taken approx 40 cruises with various companies.

Now in hands of T/A , getting to ship later will give me some precious shopping time 😆
