  1. Checking on this too. The only difference, we HAVE transportation to the hotel. We just need transportation from the hotel to the ship.
  2. Just a heads up. I already went to the Galveston,TX area to ask this question, but thought perhaps someone might see it here as well. We have transportation picking us up at Hobby Airport, taking us to the hotel, and picking us up from the ship and taking us back to the airport. My question, it seems that NONE of the Galveston area hotels have any shuttle service. What/who would you recommend that we use, if you had done this recently?
  3. We have our transportation from/to the airport. Do you have any suggestions of transportation from the hotels in the Galveston area TO the Regal ship? It looks like NONE of these hotels have any shuttle service or anything like that.
  4. You probably already have your answer. We will be cruising a week from today. My son who lives about 30 minutes from us got their medallions about 4 or 5 days ago. We have 3 houses all next to each other. My son got his medallion on Friday, I got mine on Saturday, and my other son is STILL waiting to get theirs, and we ALL live next door to each other. Their medallion system is BAD when sending them out.
  5. We have the Premium package. I have never eaten gelato, and definitely want to try it. Hopefully (as someone mentioned) since I have no clue what it taste like, they won't give me something else to substitute it.
  6. So Tweetie if I understand right, even IF we have the Premier package, we cannot even order soda on the ship, while in TX, right?
  7. We did not book for 2025, but one reason we order the Premier package, as you had mentioned was because of the pictures. I don't know how you do your booking, but I decided to get a Princess Vacation Planner (PVP), and anything I had a question on, she was able to answer up front. So if you have not booked as yet, it wouldn't hurt for you to get one like us, and ASK a few questions before you book. We have had different questions during our process, and our PVP has been able to take care of anything that might need to be done, if someone was not right.
  8. Your question just CAUGHT my eye, and I have not read what others have posted to you here. I understand you not wanting anyone to touch any of your personal items, etc. I will say in over the 30 years of cruising on about 20 cruises or more, our room steward, we have NEVER had a problem with them in any way. Now if you are concerned about money, jewelry, etc. than DON'T bring any where you could not put it in the vault, than you wouldn't have a problem in that area. I will say the room stewards do NOT stay in the rooms long, as your room is NOT the only room they have to take care of, so they are pretty busy, most of the time. It does make it hard on them, but they DO go with the flow, if someone is in their room and do not want the room steward coming in to change the towels or sheets, and they just come back later. Sometimes they come in twice a day, and if a person only wants once a day, then they will do that as well.
  9. Cr8tiv1, I agree about the smaller ship. I have been blessed to do over the past 30 years, about 20 cruises, on different cruise lines. I just like the older/smaller ship as well, especially with the atrium they have in the middle, where I don't seem to see this any more on the new ships.
  10. I'm glad I seen this, as I had been advised the Champagne Tower was usually on the first formal night (I do understand if there are big waves, and things can change), around 6:00, which someone had posted or showed on the Platter. Then someone else posted the Platter, and it showed around 9:00, so that makes a big difference as well. Guess I will have to be on my TOES🙂 , just to make sure I don't miss this event. The reason I say this, it has been "24" years since I did my first one, and WANT to do it again. 🙂
  11. Wallyj, sorry I missed your posting, and thank you for your input too.
  12. Reedprincess, thank you for sharing the walk (as far as it would go) on deck 7. Memoak, I know that while in Galveston/TX a person could NOT get liquor, but I was WONDERING why they would be charging for soda, while still in TX with the package?
  13. Crowdraven87, you said you were just south of Smithville, my twin b-i-l's and my son all live in Smithville as well.
  14. Thank you for your review of the Regal, as the 8 of us will be doing it for the first time, in less than 2 weeks. I know this was YOUR review, with some negativity, as you were comparing it to other Princess ships, which is fine too. As for myself, I always like to READ everyone's opinions when it is in regard to a ship that I have never done, good or bad, and then I go with my "thinking" (I have been blessed to do over 20 cruises on different cruise lines) that this IS going to be a great cruise, and if something happens, we just deal with it. 🙂
  15. We ordered the most expensive package ($80 per day), I think it is called Premier. I just watched a recent Regal You Tube video cruising out of the Galveston, TX area. This lady had the package and said, when she ordered (she knew she could not get alcohol while in Galveston) soda, they CHARGED her for this while in Galveston. She couldn't understand why they would CHARGE for the soda with this package while being in Galveston. If you have this package and you have cruised within the past month or so and ASK for soda while in the Galveston area, were you able to get it with this package without a charge? I understand that Deck 7 is the deck that a person can walk from one end of the ship to the other end. If this is the case, can that be done outside, or is it done through the inside of the ship?
  16. I guess??? it doesn't hurt to ask the room steward. 🙂
  17. Thanks for your replies. Guess we'll soon find out if any of us 8 win anything.
  18. All I know is our room numbers are R524 - R534. It is NO big deal. We are all family, so I thought it would be neat for us to "chat" with each other while on the balconies, once in a while.
  19. We 4 balconies on deck 14, port side. If you have ever had one of these balconies on this side, were you able to connect (that is, IF you wanted to) with your next door neighbor on the balconies? My son had read that some balconies had "connecting balconies," so I thought I would ask. 🙂
  20. Thank you "both" for your replies.
  21. Once again, thank you for your review with pictures. We have LESS than 2 weeks, and we should be on the Regal too. To top this off for us, if you want to call it that, our Kansas City Chiefs WON the Super Bowl! 🙂
  22. Thank you ALL for your replies. More than likely none of the 8 of us will win, but I just thought I would check ahead of time. (It does look like the promotion goes through March 31, 2024, and we are cruising the 25th of this month so maybe.....we might still have a chance 🙂. ) We did order the Premier package, and I know the medallion is on its way. So since our medallion is on its way, is it still possible to WIN a "clip on" medallion holder too? That would be great if we did win something, and the door panel started showing fireworks display, as I'm sure we WOULD notice that. 🙂
  23. For those of you who may have WON anything by opening up your door, I believe it "shows" something on the outside of your door if you have won. If this is the case, what does it say or show that we might know if we won anything?
  24. Reedprincess, thanks for explaining where the 3 MDR locations were, or possibly how to get to them. I don't know why, and I have no problem with it, but my son started booking for himself and his wife, and then eventually was able to book the other 6 that are with them at the Symphony MDR. I was thinking it was closer to the end of the ship when I checking out what was on each deck, but it sounds like it is closer to the middle of the ship, and that is fine too. I'm glad he didn't book the Allegro this time, as I have done as you have mentioned on other cruise ships, walked the deck and then down the steps or taking an elevator just to get to the dining room.
  25. I was glad to see that you posted that Roatan was one of your favorite ports. The reason I say this, my son/d-i-l went a few months ago, and checked out the area. At this point, it looks like we will have a driver taking the 8 of us around to where WE want to go for the day. Hopefully the weather (we have about 15 days before we get on the ship) will cooperate with us. 🙂
