  1. Glacier Bay and the Skagway train (for those who haven't done it) are the clear winners.
  2. Help me out here. Are you concerned that "who knows how many strangers" have pumped that liquid soap dispenser?
  3. Unless one is during the day and the other is at night.
  4. Really? Maybe you need to get your computer checked out.🤣
  5. I did it on the Sky in January and it was not only a complete waste of my time, but somewhat unpleasant (packed in like rats, ordered where to stand, etc.). Yeah, I'm sure the safety "experts" are convinced that this made me safer despite my experience, but isn't that just how "experts" are?
  6. Thank you for expressing your opinion in a professional manner without referring to those who hold a different opinion as "morons." I believe that your background has taught you how to take the high road and not get sucked into using such juvenile references. Wouldn't it be nice if others could do the same?😎
  7. Smart businesses focus on increasing profits. Cost saving moves "may" lead to increased profits, but not always.
  8. Just a point of clarification. Platinum folks in steerage also get a nice head start.😎🐀
  9. Yes. Eagle scout is an accomplishment to be proud of. IIRC, you invest a lot of time in activities to benefit the community. This in contrast to pin wearers who have invested a lot of money in cruises to benefit themselves (I readily acknowledge that this is the guy I see in the mirror but, in my own defense, I do sail steerage and use the saved $$$ for better things).
  10. That's great (sincerely). I was never much of a scout and not sure I even made it to Webelos. A buddy and I did join the boy scouts during high school with an eye towards joining an upcoming camping/fishing adventure, but we got fired from a fund raising event when the head scout assigned us to kitchen duty and we left for something more fun. It wasn't pretty. 🤣
  11. It will be awesomer!!! Those free bags of laundry are great! Just don't forget the garbage bags and packing tape to maximize your value.
  12. I haven't been on the Bliss yet, but the Brewhouse on both Encore and Joy had Guinness on tap. That was all I needed to know. 😎 Our next cruise is on the Bliss, so hopefully I'll be three for three.
  13. Did I say anything about others wanting to collect and wear these?
  14. Actually, DW forced me to take one (and I'm not lying about this 🤣)
  15. I never said this. I only said it was a waste of time because we couldn't hear anything, already knew how to put on a life vest and were crowded together like rats despite the "experts" still preaching about distancing. That was the logic fail.
  16. Just the new e-muster. I don't care about up to date vaccinations because I do that anyway. Not because of a cruise line or the government but because of what my trusted medical professionals recommend. The tests were always a joke because I test negative and then pack into a Covid infested airplane for hours. Even the port testing was a joke because I just got off the plane and the Covid didn't have time to show up. I'm really not concerned about getting Covid while packed together for a muster drill. It's the total lack of logic (along with the total waste of my vacation time) that rubs me the wrong way.
  17. I would rather get a 2 dollar bill than another one of those pins. I'm sure that DW has ours squirreled away somewhere, but I'm just not a merit badge wearing type of person anymore. I outgrew that about the time I figured out that nobody cared (I think that was around the time I turned ten and dropped out of such things).
  18. So is Covid now completely gone? I must have missed that memo.
  19. Great suggestion. I did just that last week when I received my survey for my recent Sky sailing.
  20. This is VERY interesting. Thanks for sharing. 😎 We may try this!
  21. Thanks. I was aware of that. I was asking about CruiseNext. My concerns are with the following text in the terms and conditions of CruiseFirst: CruiseFirst certificates are valid for new reservations ONLY that book and sail within 3 years of original certificate purchase date. Voyage date must be more than 120 days from original purchase date. Not applicable towards canceled/rebooked reservations. If a guest with an existing reservation cancels and rebooks the same ship and sail date with a CruiseFirst certificate, the additional value of the CruiseFirst certificate will be removed.
