  1. I will be very interested in hearing about the entertainment on the Sun, particularly the smaller lounge groups. We'll be sailing on her in a few months. Thanks.
  2. This is what I see when I log into NCL's homepage: "YOU HAVE UNUSED CRUISENEXT DEPOSIT(S)Book any stateroom on any sailing departing in 6 months or more. Limited time only. I'm new to using CN, but I believe that the only thing that is accurate here is that "You have unused CruiseNext deposits" (I do) I don't believe that I have to use them six months in advance, only by final payment. I don't believe that it is for a limited time (only limited by my CN expiration date). Am I missing something? Nowhere does it limit it to the current double CN offer (which I believe is balcony and above 4 months out).
  3. Thanks, but I think it's more a matter of you and I having a different definition of "reasonable." 😎
  4. Are you suggesting that if people quit trying to smuggle booze that we would no longer have a security checkpoint? That doesn't sound right.
  5. They require pants. I wore pants. Nobody got hurt.
  6. I've worn my nice black cotton sweats in LeBistro several times, and nobody noticed. From a few feet away I look just as "proper" as anybody else. I'm not "trying to get away with" anything or "seeing how low I can go." 🤣 I'm just keeping to myself, being comfortable and enjoying my cruise. Wouldn't cruises be more fun if everybody just focused on that?😎 I was sitting at the Atrium bar on the Sky in January and spotted something out of the corner of my eye. About 15 feet away sat a trio of old guys (like me) wearing matching Hawaiian shirts. Brightest things I've ever seen, plastered with flamingos, flowers and who knows what else. That made my cruise more fun. I couldn't help but step between two of them and declare something to the effect of "I just have to say, you gentlemen are wearing the finest attire I've seen on this ship." We all had a good laugh and, when I proclaimed that "I want in", one of them started to unbutton his shirt and quoted me a reasonable price. I'm guessing since those shirts had collars that they may have eaten in LeBistro later! 🤣
  7. Thanks. I guess I did understand it.
  8. Did they just take a cut to their salary or to their total compensation.
  9. Is the NCL FCC part of the AON insurance? I thought it was just an NCL thing for when the insurance claim is denied. I'm not seeing how AON is "great" here. Maybe I don't understand the process. Why did they reject the claim? Again, why was the claim denied and did the NYS Dept. do anything to help?
  10. Well, the album was "Fly Like an Eagle" which may have put "Eagle" in the mind of the person who said Henley. All great music by the way!😎 I've owned that album on both Vinyl and Disk. Look at Joseph tickle those bones!
  11. Whoa there partner! Complete control, 🤣. Control of which pants I wear, sure.😎 That said, if the biggest complaint anybody has about their partner is the pants they wear, then congratulations are in order, not sympathy.
  12. Me too. Was it packed during the afternoon on sea days? Absolutely. Could I still find two seats? Yes, but sometimes I had to wait ten or fifteen minutes. Most of the "cheap seats" had people coming and going all day. The loungers and couches near the windows? Not so much. That's okay for me. A cheap seat in the OL beats about every other seat on the ship. The district is also a good option when they open in the afternoon. One busy day, I observed a grouping of seats near the starboard bow. Two couches and six swivel chairs. Two of the swivel chairs had personal items parked in them. One of the couches had items of clothing draped over both arms. The other couch had a single item of clothing draped over one arm. So, I decided to have a seat on the (apparently) available open end of that couch just to enjoy my beverage, the great views and, to a lesser extent, just for fun to see how long those "reserved" seats went unoccupied. I was actually pleasantly surprised. Within about fifteen minutes some folks returned who were with people currently sitting there and "claimed" the full couch and one of the swivels. I say, "no harm no foul." The other swivel apparently contained some expensive camera equipment belonging to two people sitting on one of the other couches. They eventually left. Again, no big deal. Then I heard a small crashing noise behind me, followed by a big huff or two and feet stomping away. Apparently, the seat I took was part of a couch that a lady felt she could reserve entirely by leaving a single item of clothing on the other arm. She had slammed down her coffee and pastry (coffee spilling onto the counter and pastry also winding up off the dish), angrily grabbed her scarf or whatever and left in a huff. She literally stomped down the hallway for as far as I could see her. Had she just sat down, I likely would have sought other seating regardless. 😎 Oh well, some folks just need to learn how to find enjoyment on their cruise instead of drama.
  13. No. I wear what I want to wear. Are we no longer men?
  14. That could be me. That said, I've also sailed in balconies and spent the same amount of time in the observation lounges. A seat in the observation lounge is a whole lot more fun than sitting in that crappy chair on a balcony without beverage service. But that may just be me....
  15. You doubt it? Do you have any recent experience?
  16. Was this the 4/22 Bliss sailing? If so, I was on that sailing and I believe we actually met at @graphicguy's meet and greet. I spent many hours in the OL both that week and the week before.
  17. So, you picked the absolute worst time to use the OL?
  18. I doubt it. I've never heard of it. As you suggest, the real savings come from getting two cruises in while only having to endure the cost/pain/etc. of one airline trip and pre-cruise hotel stay.
  19. Thanks for the great railway posts! Years before @ChiefMateJRKwas a cruise fan, he was (and is) a railfan (that stuff doesn't go away). We've done numerous long distance Amtrak trips but, unfortunately, I just don't fit into or get along with the sleeping accommodations anymore. The only trip I've been on that would rival the White Pass and Yukon is the Durango and Silverton. Both narrow gauge. Unlike the White Pass and Yukon, the Durango and Silverton still uses and maintains original narrow gauge steam engines. The behind the scenes tour of that maintenance facility would easily exceed the NCL behind the scenes tours for anybody but the most non-mechanical among us. All that irrelevant stuff aside, the scenery on the White Pass and Yukon is fantastic at all times of the year. We skipped it two weeks ago because the route was truncated due to snow and we plan to do it again next summer. Did you go all the way to White Pass?
  20. 🤣Now I REALLY look forward to meeting your dear Father. If we sat next to each other, it would likely make us both look better! (yeah, the math is a bit tricky on that one, just go with it....)😎🐀
  21. I see from your later posts that you did have a chance to listen to Alexa. She is fantastic. Unfortunately, she was not yet on the Sky when we sailed her in January. DD tracks her facebook. I would change cruise plans if I knew Alexa would be on a ship.
  22. Very nice!!! We are now officially friends.😎 (Fire Walk With Me - who doesn't love Carl?)
