Destiny0315 replied to salzdt's topic in East Coast Departures
Hi margie1221, If you use the Park Whiz App on your phone you can book the C1 Lot which is the closest(3-4 min walk)lot of any to the ship and is available for your cruise for $175(+$12admin)for the week for your cruise on the HAL Zaandam on May 20. I will be parked there for the two weeks prior as I am on the b to b from Boston-Montreal-Boston and my cost was $212 total...Rob -

Why any of us are still cruising on any cruise after this 'issue' from 10 years ago on the Carnival Triumph says a lot about the hardiness of those who cruise. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/aboard-the-carnival-triumph-cruise-ship/3/ -

Right but the app itself can sometimes be added to the list of issues. -

No it has nothing to do with the Westerdam cruise but it shows that HAL has not totally abandoned successful programs as some people feel they have on their ships that were started pre covid and hopefully will continue. -

Yes Jacques Torres was on the Zaandam last Thursday for a cooking demo as scheduled, see post #571 for more details about cooking demos this year on HAL. -

You certainly can't say HAL isn't diverse when it comes to pax hair colors. I see black, red, brown, green, silver and white haired people in just this one photo from the cooking demo alone! -

Carnival used to have amateur talent shows years ago for passengers who would practice their acts and then perform on stage near the end of the cruise for I believe better prizes than their usual ship on a stick. HAL had the ships competing against each other back during their Dancing With The Stars promotion about a decade ago. -

Hey at least their Uber Captain has got them to most of the faraway places that were advertised.🙂 -

I can't disagree with your statements and it is just more evidence of the inconsistency from cruise to cruise and ship to ship compared to the past in the planning and implementing for food/drink and entertainment. The service element seems to be still there but it just becomes harder to achieve because of those inconsistencies. -

I don't think there is much you can't find in Amsterdam just ask Harold and Kumar.😉 -

Yes and if by chance anyone gets seriously sick on your cruise or any of the other cruises that sail this Boston-Montreal-Boston route you can rest assured that some of the best medical care around is available on either end point. -
In this thread on the Carnival board reviewing the current trans-pacific crossing of the Luminosa there are photos posted of crossing the line ceremonies onboard US Navy ships in 1943 and 1976. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2928013-live-the-worlds-longest-trip-report-luminosa-413-54/

Beverage Shortages and Other Cuts

Problem solved! Just increase the $1 deposits to $1.25 like the Dollar Tree chain has increased most everything in their stores to that higher amount for more cash flow. -

I believe he is referring to HAL's corporate bosses in Miami, Carnival Corporation. -

Hey you might be able to get a group on here to hand carry your electric scooter to and back from a NCL ship.🙂 Only kidding! I would if I were there only if I was joining you and it was a NCL PC cruise as they are about the only main line that still floats into Acapulco Bay despite the problems. -
