  1. Any cruise we have been on regardless of line has breakfast open before you could disembark. Would never take anything off ship would simply eat before we left (possibly just room service).
  2. Was that room $20k-$40k USD for your cruise? Doubtful please come back to reality that any slight obstruction should be noted on rooms of that value. Additionally it should be noted on standard balaconies even if the tube goes directly in front of the balcony.
  3. And? You can easily tell it runs in front of certain rooms and will be within view of others. It's like needing video proof that the Edge on Celebrity will be obstructed at times with their magic carpet.
  4. Ah I didn't realize I needed to go somewhere or experience something to know it's not a great experience. Come on now this is an obstructed balcony in rooms that next June right now for a family of 4 is $35k USD for 11 nights. Royal has multiple and MSC is launching one shortly l....
  5. People will try to make them subjective but in reality how food is cooked, quality of raw ingredients, and skills of staff will show through. It's why there can be cooking schools and reviewers. When you ask for medium rare and a steak was cooked to 170 and is brown throughout that is a factual accounting of food being poorly prepared. Also if the option for chicken is grilled chicken (no marinade, seasoning other than salt/pepper) that is basic preparation. Finally had a buffalo sauce that was not made of the hot sauce style that would be used and likely didn't have butter either when on NCL. Again that's not subjective that their buffalo wings are not buffalo. (it was so off the first order we thought we got the Asian style wings)
  6. 1) clothes? That's the biggest worry for Alaska make sure to have waterproof outer layer (not water resistent) 2) have backup plan for excursion cancellation because of weather (not booked just a list of things) 3) watch YouTube videos of your ship and possibly Alaska sailing daily vlogs if they have them
  7. You lock the door. If the door lock is broken you ask it to be fixed or be moved. Maybe do a search of rooms tours on your trip where the child lock is. But they all have been out of reach when I have looked.
  8. Most ships they can't even reach the lock. Then some ships wouldn't be strong enough to move the lock. I won't say all because I obviously don't know. We never had an issue with it and quickly realized we were overthinking it.
  9. Who cares what side it docks when the view could be the opposite way. Example that coco cay picture. If you were starboard you would be looking in to someone else's room. Also missed anything about the OP and specific ship they are on.
  10. So you bring a tiny screwdriver and pliers and call it a day? I personally find any multitool to be terrible to use and will carry a tiny more bulk and weight to have better usable things. It's not like I am camping and the weight really matters.
  11. What do you honestly need and use from that tool? Clothing is something you actually need.
  12. Cruise lines already short staffed so how much extra work is this? Are various countries allowing and not allowing making it more difficult to say it's okay or not? Additionally not even extra work on ship but shoreside setting policy and updating during the covid times.
  13. Yes but no There is no limitation at this point to my knowledge but being it's September you won't find the ships full. Reports of Magic at like 50% and Fantasy at 95%. Again not restricted to that, that's how many people paid/showed up/pass any covid protocol to get on the ship.
  14. They do not have fireworks and they do not have Pirate night. They have a Frozen night instead from my understanding. Cruised Disney but to Alaska only have went NCL and RCL. https://youtu.be/ONMVKasW1xs?t=1964
  15. Looking at the Seashore anyone know the pool and hot tub hours for YC? I saw a review saying everything was closed by 8pm in the normal part of the ship?
  16. I want to follow up for future searchers that MCO did repeat the same promo when the previous one expired. Its "back by popular demand" is what it said at midnight EST and now its on for another 7 days counting down. One thing I will say though this is during a time (early August) that isn't next to a holiday, hasn't changed seasons, and other cruise lines are doing the same thing (keep repeating the same thing). Just something to be aware of if you haven't finalized a plan and want to roll the dice on waiting to book anything.
  17. One other question is there a better location on deck 18 or 16? Closer or further from the dining/lounge? Is being the room closest to the dining room a benefit as you only have people on one side then?
  18. Can you ask for them to make toast from this bread? haha
  19. To clarify it sounded like there was extra menu items in the MDR on ships that did not have Club Orange. Sounds like it might be a single menu item each night possibly.
  20. I will say been there done that with most different types of vodkas and especially the well known ones and Tito's is my top choice personally. To add to your list though ask if they have the Onyx Vodka I think its called which comes in a crystal skull. Its made out of agave and has a hit of the tequila taste to it but not overpowering like actual tequila.
  21. Wondering if anyone has some examples of the expanded menu? We might do a last minute Alaska cruise through HAL. I prefer specialty and suite specific dining venues as I feel the food quality is up a couple notches typically so was hoping this might be the case with HAL even though its not in its own specific restaurant.
  22. Perfect I figured the super expensive stuff was off limits from the package even. We are pretty straight forward my wife will ask for the bartender to make something sweet and I will normally be found with Tito's on the rocks. Thank you for the confirmation.
  23. Sorry if I missed it but Yacht Club you are you able to order multiple items for dinner? If you want two apps or entrees or desserts?
  24. Would only go on a cruise if testing is required at the current time. Don't care about masks, capacity, vaccination status, or any of that. Been on multiple cruises since shutdown going back to last September. Long term won't care about testing either but right now I either want testing or capacity restrictions nothing else really matters to me.
