  1. You'd have to find someone that wanted to buy one. Each E-class ship cost was only about $1B new. Probably worth a lot less now. You could sell all of the E-class ships and that would barely make a dent in their debt.
  2. They want you to have lunch on shore.
  3. Sure they can have some debt but the debt went from about $8B to about $18B from 2019 to 2021. Certainly not an investment grade stock at these levels
  4. I agree, RCL has a huge financial problem. I did a back of the envelope calculation the other day. If RCL wants to pay off the Covid debt in 10 years it requires all of the ships to sail at 100% double occupancy and each passenger will need to pay an additional $33/day. So the cost of a week long cruise need to increase by $233 just to eliminate the Covid debt. Maybe people will be willing to pay that increase but if they do, they expect at least the pre-Covid levels of service. So maybe the costs need to increase by $250 or $300 per week to account for other costs increases but they won't be able to get the higher prices if they reduce the level of service. No business can cut their way to profitability. Or perhaps we will have all of the cruise lines go bankrupt, clean the balance sheets and start over. Just like the airlines.
  5. I'll respectfully disagree. Just because costs have increased doesn't mean that the quality and level of service should decrease. I suspect that many of us are willing to pay a little more to offset the cost increases. In fact there have been price increases and the expectation is that part of the price increases is used to keep the product the same while some of the price increase is used to reduce the debt.
  6. I don't know about the rest of the CC community, but I'm not even considering booking a Celebrity cruise given these new cutbacks to the MDR selections and the OVC. I just received an email from Celebrity about special promotion for European cruises and I didn't even open it. Hopefully it won't Celebrity very long to connect the dots.
  7. So how many men would you estimate are wearing tuxedos? 50%, 75%?
  8. Thanks for the report. Sorry, we'll miss you we board on January 25.
  9. The big question is: How will I ever collect my free AI drink?
  10. I may end up becoming Vegan on my next cruise.
  11. Maybe LLP should come out and do a couple cruises with the new menu so she can judge the food and the passenger reactions.
  12. I think I'll be ordering off the children's menu.
  13. When are you scheduled for your next cruise? I'd be interested in getting your in-person perspective. This appears to be in the category of: "You can't be serious"
  14. Maybe we'll see their next promotion in a different form. Perhaps "Kids Pay Double" would attract a lot of passengers.
  15. I hope so. From my perspective the worst promotion is "Kids Sail Free." The last thing I want onboard is more kids.
  16. You'll probably need to buy something if you want more PUP.
  17. Just arrive at the Pier at 11:00 am, you'll be fine.
  18. Give it to your room steward or waiter. Why buy stuff you don't need or want? Go to Guest services and give it to someone on the crew.
