Royal Caribbean, A Lie is a Lie
dunrobbin replied to SailorMarg's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I used to love RC too...... Please understand, they are purposefully misleading us. I proved it onboard. Over reach? no! Wool over as many eyes as they can? Yes! Now we get to choose, do we still cruise RC? They lie. Saying its half and half, when it never is or will be is a Lie. -

Royal Caribbean, A Lie is a Lie

Yes I did, several times. On Alaska cruise in May. Finally the staff admitted they were told to say it was half and half when they do no longer supply half and half. They lie. -

They do know. It has been confirmed, Staff are told to fill the half and half with milk. Half and half is rarely even available unless you are in a suite. It is a big deal and the original poster is correct, they lie. -
Do not take the Quantum of the Seas to Alaska
dunrobbin replied to pierces's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It is my belief that no matter what the "Ice" situation is, (we are in a time of global warming" the ships are cutting cost and not doing or going where they say they will Traceys arm was a turn around for us too. Is there any one that actually got up close to where they ship said they would go? -
Things that make me sad about Royal.

I actually live in Toronto Canada so I am not sure 🙂 -
I came to cruising late. Hubby and I started cruising a couple of years ago, and love it, but it is changing as we watch. Quality down and prices sky rocketing! Boy I wish we had been able to afford to cruise earlier! I have read there was a time you could get double points, and we missed that to! Pension age is 67 in Australia and I have 18 months to go on working ..... At 36 points, I think death will beat us to Diamond Status! LOL

No, No extra points.

No Compensation? What a joke Royal has become. -
Were you offered anything to make up for it?

Yes, but just came of Brilliance in a Grand Suite, and had to pay for internet. -
Anyone enjoying the new menu selections?

An upgrade still happens with Royal? I thought only Royal ups were used now. Can I ask if you are Pinnacle? -
"New" Harmony non-smoking "mini"casino
dunrobbin replied to The Scurvy Pirate's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Brilliance last week had a casino with a smoking side and a non smoking side. What a joke! The rooms all around the casino reeked of smoke. Smokers sitting in there not gambling, just smoking. Rows of new slot machines being set up, that never came online during our cruise. Worst Casino for payouts I have ever been in. Guess everyone agreed as it was never busy. Was a huge disappointment. -

G'day, Just got off Brilliance of the Seas. 7nights Vancouver to Alaska. Staff was happy and friendly as always. First time in a Grand Suite, so though there was no Coastal Kitchen, we did have the option to go the Chops Grill for Suites and Pinnacles breakfast. Food was similar to Breakfast in the MDR, except the chefs and food prep is right there, so after once served a cool breakfast we requested heated plates and that fixed the issue. In the MDR for 5pm seating, we decided to go with a table for two for the first time. The main reason was, we did not want to be waiting for 10 meal issues (if they happened) to be dealt with on a large table. I am not a big steak eater, but found that I ordered the New your strip steak nearly every night. It was thinner but perfectly cooked Medium Rare and tasted wonderful. I just could not see anything else that appealed to me, or didn't worry me that It would be too dry. No Lamb chops, now that is sad! Too many weird meals, Mexican, Indian and so on. The food was mostly warm to hot, and service was fast. In and out in an hour each day. Windjammer was a ZOO! Food options very limited. Mostly cool in Temp. Two roasts in 7 nights, where we had a roast every day in Sept last year. Salad ordinary, never a shrimp/prawn at anytime in the week for a salad. Tomatoes Green rather than ripe red. Crumbled Feta available for salad for 2 days then never again. Only a few salad dressing choices. Egg salad was mayo with small lumps that may have been egg, and the Tuna salad was mayo with small lumps that may have been Tuna! One day they had Carrot Salad. If you could imagine 3 large trays full of grated carrots, just grated carrots, nothing else! OMG LOL People were taking photos of it! I wish I had too. Hot food was, you guesses it, mostly Indian and weird cuisines. Mostly rice and some sort of different "Stews" every day, and a chicken and a fish dish. Mostly the same every day. The deserts were the same as always, as they have never been that great. There was one called Berry something or other, that had two blueberries on it. The strawberry one had a half a strawberry on it. Absolutely, not what I would call special. Was there food to eat? Yes there was, was it what I have come to love about cruising? NO. All in all, the MDR was acceptable but no choices that interested me. The Windjammer was dismal. -
That's true, not to much benefit on a JS on a smaller ship. Will be keeping a weather eye on this rumor!

I do not believe that there is enough room to seat and feed 5000 people if they closed the main dining rooms. Unless they turned them in to more buffets! -
We bid the minimum from a JS to a Grand and got it through today, for May 7th ! It is kinda fun!
-
Just got our Royal up from Junior Suite to 1 bedroom Grand. Yay May 7th to Alaska on Brilliance of the Seas!
-
Ahhh Thanks for explaining. We always pre-pay, but if service sucks I guess we could just not give the extra we usually do.
-
Hahahaha We always called it, "after Camp Syndrome"
-
We loved it! Great show, great story and quality performers!

Can you remove pre paid gratuities on Royal Caribbean? In the unlikely event that a guest onboard being charged the daily automatic tip does not receive satisfactory service, the guest may request to modify the daily amount at their discretion by visiting Guest Services onboard and will be able to do so until the morning of their departure.
